  • Precision Engineering- Many men experience some form of irritation to the skin when shaving like razor burn, an inconsistent shave and ingrown hairs caused by inferior razors. At Henson, we’ve addressed this using our 22+ years of aerospace machining expertise to identify major flaws in mainstream razors, such as unsupported cutting blades, and designed the Henson Double Edge Safety Razor in a way that truly protects your skin.
  • 30° Blade Angle- Hensons single blade razors for men and women are designed with a 30 degree angle when in contact with the skin, this strikes the perfect balance between shaving efficiency and comfort. This helps minimize skin irritation cuts and razor burn, and allows you to shave with confidence.
  • Blade Rigidity & Free End Length – Rather than a gradual bend across the entire width of the blade, the head of the Henson razor creates a focused bend close to the blade’s edge to maximize the rigidity of the blade. The longer the blade the more flex it has which can result in skin irritation and an inferior shave. Our short free end length supports the blade close to the cutting edge, further reducing any chatter during a shave.
  • Wide Open Channels – Henson AL13 razor is beginner friendly and easy to clean. Its sleek, open channels let shaving creams and hair rinse effortlessly from the razor’s head, eliminating the need to clear off any clogged hair left from the blade.
  • Zero Waste Razor – Designed for lifetime use, our single blade razors are durable, cost-efficient, plastic-free & recyclable. By pairing your razor with RK Shaving’s sharp precision blades, a 100-pack of blades can last a regular shaver between 2-3 years. Protecting your skin, the environment and your wallet.

I’m a guy that quit buying Gillette and fancy razors a few years ago. The fancy razors are a complete waste of money. This razor and my other one that is $50 cheaper are amazing. Both are good this one is light weight and easy to grip. Shaved with it immediately after receiving it. It’s better that the cheaper one for sure.

So I recently gave up on my hair it was thing To the point where I just knew it would look better gone. This is by far the best option. I will never use another cartridge razor again! It comes with five blades and a pack of 100 is less than $20. At that price I changed the blade every shave. You won’t be disappointed, if you’re a man or even a woman grow up and get something that the last lifetime and save you, thousands, I only need two tools now to do all my grooming. I personally went with the copper and aluminum base. You guys need to stop getting all worked up about the price if you’ve ever machine aluminum you know that it is not cheap! The base is Obviously machined For finished well flawlessly.

I am a single blade shaver and own at least a dozen of the more popular razors. Until today I recommended the Merkur 34C to everyone and it’s still a great razor.

All that said, I received this razor this morning and used it to shave my face and entire scalp. This razor is incredible. It is, by far, the best single blade razor I have ever used.

This razor is very forgiving when shaving the back of the head where most men will cut themselves with a single blade razor.

The first time I used it on my scalp and face I buzzed through the task without a single Nick, scratch or cut. It shaved VERY close.

Those darned Canadians finally got something right when they designed and produced this razor. Good for them.

When i receved it, i tried it a couple of times with heavy shaving foam. It wasnt working for me and i hated it. Then i read a commenr suggesting using it with “shaving gel”. I bought some and tried it. Believe me, now it works very well and my skin doesnt hurr after shave. I hope this will help.

Great for beginners or when you want to do a one pass shave.

Been shaving with the same Merkur razor for 20+ years and decided to try this one after seeing good reviews and new engineering on a traditional razor.
I must say, it shaves differently than a traditional double edged razor. It almost feels like I’m shaving with a plastic disposable razor. Not a bad thing, just different. It does provide a close shave and it will probably be difficult to nick yourself with it even if you try. The lightweight aluminum also lends itself to the disposal razor feeling. I quickly found out that the 30 degree precise angle of the blade is their key to success. The only problem with it is that you have to apply pressure and hold it to your skin at the same angle or you won’t be shaving but just pushing your shaving cream out of the way. It will take me some practice to learn how to shave with this razor versus my Merkur which doesn’t require any additional pressure due to it’s weight and is very forgiving on the angle you shave at. It also comes with the occasional nick that double edged razors are known for.
If you’re transitioning from a nick free disposal razor to a double edged razor then this is perfect. You will never know the difference. Since I’ve been shaving with the same razor for over 20 years the jury is still out.
I’m giving it 5 stars due to the build quality and new engineering. Shave is smooth and close once you get used to the angle.

Switched from Gillette cartridges (Fusion 5) to Gillette King safety razor. After 9 months of use decided to spend money for Henson. Do not regret. Every every euro spent is worth it. Amazing product. No irritations (my skin is sensitive). Lightweight, easy to hold. Baby skin after shave. Price is high but you will use for years with a great pleasure.

I bought another razor that takes these blades and even is adjustable and it sucked despite being well made and from Japan. This thing is AMAZING, seriously a game changer, I can literally shave with reckless abandon and Nada, zip, no cuts. It’s unreal, wife loves it too for her legs, getting her one as well and one for my teenage son who’s just about to start shaving, they are THAT good.

I wanted to use this as I did not like the plastic disposable shavers. I tried similar ones but it took a long time since they can cut you. This razor is impressive in that you just move it like a normal razor with pressure and it glides. My Gillette 5 blade disposable is a tad bit faster. So I am still going to use it when I am in a hurry otherwise for all other times this will be it. For best results prep the beard and apply some pressure while contouring the razor to your face.

I am 66 and have been shaving for 50 years, and have a heavy beard. I have tried every wet razor on the market (single blades, twin blades, triple blades, etc.) and from every manufacturer. I also used & tried 5 different double-edged razors, but almost always would nick myself. I bought this on recommendation from my son. This is the best double-edged razor there is. No nicks or cuts and delivers a smooth. close shave. It is almost virtually impossible to cut yourself with this razor. I know the price is a bit more than most of us are willing to pay, but I look at it as an investment; that in the long run will save me money as razor blades are a lot cheaper than the cartridge razors, or disposables. 20-30 cents compared to $2 – $2.50 per blade. And these are made in Ontario, Canada! Highly recommend this razor if you are a double-edged razor user, or considering switching to a double-edged razor.

It came in today and I tried it today I couldn’t wait. I will have to say the best razor ever! you guys at Henson did it. I have tried so many different DE razors and own so many but couldn’t find one that does the job like this one does. I can’t describe how amazing this razor is I absolutely love it. its very comfortable to hold and light. I do like that its light some DE razors are heavy and I’ve never been a fan of that. Amazing close shave!! I was shaving without fear this is definitely the razor that I would recommend to any new beginner DE razor user to any experienced user. I am going to tell everyone I know about this razor. you guys at Henson great job guys great job!!!

I typically use a Supply SE single edge razor for a two pass shave. My first two pass shave with this Henson AL13 appears to be much closer. While I was afraid it would be more harsh on my face, I had absolutely no irritation! I’m hoping I will learn to be a little quicker so I can make it my goto on weekdays. I can shave a bit quicker with the Supply SE at the moment, without cutting myself, but I have had much more time to learn it. I would definitely recommend this Henson.

I’m a lifelong cartridge razor user – the Gillette Sensor Excel (2 blade). I have a lifetime supply of the blades, but I thought I’d try a DE razor, and this one specifically because it had good reviews.

So, if you want this type of razor, I’d say this one is pretty good.

That said, my opinion is that you first need to decide that you want to use a DE razor, then you find a way to make it work. They’re just not as good as cartridge razors if your goal is a fast close shave. I never cut myself with it, and it was reasonably close after one shave, but note that many of the online videos recommend shaving twice for best results. Great, but that’s 2x the time. It also goes without saying that shaving twice with a cartridge razor would also be closer than once. Also note that many of the online videos recommend special shaving cream/soap and long shaving rituals. They also compare costs over ridiculously long periods of time – like 10 years. Lol – who cares about saving $10 or $20 a year?

If you’ve decided that you want to shave ‘the manly way’, fine – get one of these silly things, but if your goals is to go from scruffy to shaved quickly, this is not the best way.
