We bought this toothbrush based on a recommendation from our dentist… we have now purchased 2 of them, plus additional brushes. After experiencing a deep cleaning at my latest dental appointment, I figured it was time to listen to my dentist. I’m not one who flosses and I was told my gums were pushing up and that I should switch from my normal brush to the Burst brush (to help maintain the health of my gums). My wife swears by the brush, and now that I’m using it, I do also. It is gentle on the gums and it cleans my teeth. The unit holds its charge well and re-charges very quickly. It has 3 speeds settings which allows the user (me) to have a choice as to the power necessary. The brushes are designed in a way that they actually get into the little crevasses in my tooth/gum line that my dental hygienist digs into every 6 months or so. The second unit we purchased is for one of our adult daughters and plan to purchase a third for another of our daughters. The additional brushes… my wife and I use the same unit, so we needed the additional brushes, plus like any toothbrush, the brushes eventually will wear out.

I do not like how easy it is to shut it off while you brush. I hit it accidentally every time.
It appears to be a good idea. I’ll see if it’s better than a normal brush over 3-6 months

EDIT: Someone from Burst reached out and refunded my new toothbrush purchase after learning of the situation. Thanks for following through with the customer service I knew you were capable of!
I’ve been a Burst customer for 3.5 years and really like the toothbrush and the replacement brush head subscription service. My original black toothbrush, purchased in 2019, stopped working a few weeks ago. I tried to get in touch with customer service, and I got an automated reply telling me to reset the brush and register my warranty (which is available for all people who get a brush head subscription). Resetting didn’t work and the website wouldn’t let me register my product for a warranty. I tried contacting customer service again and again, asking to talk to a human, but they only ever sent robot responses. I had no opportunity to explain my problem with nuance. Really disappointing experience for a company that seems so personable. I ordered this brush from Amazon because I had Amazon credit and I really needed a replacement. The new one works fine.
TL;DR I decided to buy this brush because I could not get in touch with the company to tell them my issue with my first brush, which is why this product is getting 2 stars.

I purchased my toothbrush on Amazon but have since purchased the heads directly from Burst. They have a great subscription program that bills you and ships the head based on desire. The brush has a couple of brush options too. I had my brush stop working after about a year and they sent me a replacement immediately at no cost to me. Great company and program!!

I just purchased my first Burst Sonic Toothbrush after having been a Phillips Sonicare customer for decades. The design of the Burst is very simple, sleek, has a good handpiece/grip. The brush head has very soft charcoal infused bristles. There’s a Burst specific charger included that can be plugged into a USB port or the brincluded brick, and you can sign up for a subscription for replacement brush heads, which also activates a lifetime warranty of your toothbrush, and all of this at a very reasonable price point. The packaging was nicely designed and very minimalist.
The downside is that coming off of my latest Phillips Sonicare Diamond Clean toothbrush, the Burst feels very weak. The Burst vibrates at a similar rate as the Sonicare, but just feels like a much weaker level of power. My teeth do feel very clean after using the Burst though, and I do really like it, and also the company Ethos seems very nice. Perhaps it will just take a bit of getting used to this lighter feel.

I just love that this brush has a way of switching modes that doesn’t interfere with turning it on and off. Even though both operations are performed by the only button. I am coming from another high end one-button brush, which worked like this: once you press the button to switch it on, if you press it again within 3 seconds, it begins to cycle through the modes. And to shut it off, either you cycle through all the modes to the end, or let 3 seconds elapse and then press the button again. I don’t know about you, but I happen to need to turn the brush on and off frequently and quickly at the end of my cleaning routine, while rinsing. So it goes like this, from the initial state of the brush being in your mouth, working:
– switch off the brush
– take it out of the mouth and rinse
– put it back in the mouth, turn on, and work the water just a little to wash off some of the foam
– repeat the above several times
I constantly ran into a situation where instead of switching off, it would go into cycling through the modes; I found that supremely annoying. Finally, with BURST, you can switch it on and off as frequently and quickly as you want; because to change a mode, you press and hold the button while the brush is off.
Brilliant, just brilliant!! 🙂 Thank you Burst! So good to know that some people who make toothbrushes actually try to use them too 🙂
Folks, I didn’t go into any other aspects of using this brush, but everything is just wonderful about it. Feels sturdy, high end, quiet, and does what it promises. I’ve just had it for one day at this point, so I promise to come back and update this review if my impression changes. So if you don’t hear from me, consider it highly recommended!
