I’ve been using this soap since 2017 and I haven’t looked back.

I’m HIGHLY allergic to coconut so it’s EXTREMELY hard for me to find soap that won’t break me out. This has been the only soap I’ve commercially found that does it’s job. I only use it on my body because it may be too drying to use daily on the face. The fragrance is light and you smell and feel clean after each bath.

It can dry out your skin so make sure you have a nice lotion / body butter / oil to use after you shower.

It smells and cleans so nicely. It has a nice foam and dries quickly. Keep in mind it is drying to the skin so really important to moisturize right after . Helps keep my skin clean and acne free.

So first off, I love Dudu Osun Black Soap. Both my husband and I use it and I also wash my 13 month old daughter with it. Both my husband and I swore by Dove when we first met years ago. We wouldn’t use anything else on our skin. Then we started moving our household into better household and skin products when we found out 40-60% of the products applied to the skin is absorbed. Soooo… years of using all types of perfumes & colognes, soaps, gel body washes, lotions… just sounds horrifying and in the recycling bin they went. We originally used Kirks Coco Castile bars but it left both of our skins dry and we kept using it hoping our skin would adjust. When I gave birth to my daughter last year, she inherited both of our genes for excema and her skin suffered using the Coco bars. One day I was in my local Lee Beauty Supply, (I’m a Detroit Native), and found the Dudu black soap. Now I’ve always seen them for years and years, but I never tried it because my whole family and most black people I know, swear by the tried and true Dove beauty bar. I saw the ingredients. I was excited by how simple they were and gave it a try. My skin flourished. I also feel better about what I’m putting on my skin. For our daughter, we initially would wash her with black soap and apply coconut oil to her skin after her wash but her skin would still flake, peel, and crack. Well, we later deduced that she had a coconut sensitivity which is also why her skin hated the Kirks Coco bar. We substituted coconut oil for Shea butter. I also apply aloe vera juice to her skin before I apply the Shea butter, but after her wash, and when I tell you that her skin has done a 180 degree turnaround, it’s unbelievable. Before, Eden, my daughter, would scratch all day, her skin always had red marks, bruises, and dry patches. The worst time of the day would be putting her to bed, she’d go to town on the back of neck, scratching and tearing up her skin. Now, not only has her skin healed but also ALL dry patches on her skin and old bruises from her crawling phase are gone.
Just from 3 products. Dudu Osun black soap, Fruit of the Earth 99.8% Aloe Vera juice, and Sky Organics Organic Shea butter, which can all be found on here. I can’t rave enough about how I love this product! But the biggest deal of all is finding this case of soap for 49$!!!!! When I purchased this, there were no reviews and on Amazon, that’s a big risk to take but I saw that Amazon was the seller so of course I had to get them. I would purchase them from my local African shop where they’d be about 2$ per bar or I’d buy them on Amazon, 6 for 12$. But this is an absolute steal! I’m going to buy a couple more cases in the next few weeks just in case this suddenly becomes no longer available and my family will have soap for years. One 48 bar case will definitely last us at least a year, (we go through a bar about every 9-11 days). Thanks so much Amazon!!!!

This is the only soap I use. It’s relatively cheap as far as price. Works great for me and my wife who has a sensitive pleasure box.

I like this Africa Black Soap. It has a nice scent to it, but I can see how the scent might be strong to a sensitive nose. You smell a lot of citrus with a mix of herbal scents. I first purchased this to use on my face to fight acne, but after a month’s use, it only make my acne worse. I think it is because the soap was damaging my facial skin barrier due mostly likely to it’s higher PH balance (since all bar soaps have high PH’s). I still might use it on my face every now and then, but only for deep cleaning purposes. Using this twice a day on my face is too much (although I will admit it is great at cleaning). This bar soap is the first bar soap I have used that does not leave that annoying film on your skin after you shower or bathe, so I appreciate that. It kind of leaves you feeling squeaky clean if you use it on your body, but I don’t feel the need to rush and go put lotion on after I dry off from a shower, in fact, if I am in a rush, I don’t even need to put lotion on. So this soap will get you clean and won’t complete dry out your skin (well it didn’t for me but I am 22 years old, lol). Never used it as a shampoo and I don’t plan to, as it would probably mat my hair together and make detangling even more difficult. So this soap is good for your body and hand washing, but I wouldn’t recommend using it on your face everyday as it can damage your facial skin’s barrier over time and it can burn as well [when it got into or near my nostrils, it burned 🙁 ]
