Might be OK but time will tell. So I have used a few of these before, I use the name brand same-shaped version of this occasionally and I do think this might prove to be an OK affordable alternative POSSIBLY.
Let’s talk bout the differences.. this light is recessed a few mm into the machine meanwhile the other has glass right on the surface. Not sure why this is, although I do see how this might potentially be less easy to sanitize.
This one felt more powerful somehow, I use both on max mode all the time and I get no pain or sensation with my other one. Almost suspiciously so, like idk if it’s actually working? I’m pale with brunette hair, my hair is not dark black but I’m not totally blonde either. Sometimes I doubt my hair is dark enough to work because I feel no pain and there haven’t been any clear results (although I haven’t been too regular w/ it). But this I actually feel the zaps like 40% of the time. I’m not sure if that’s good or bad, but it’s a fact.
This was a bit less reactive, about 20% of the time I was in full contact but the machine didn’t register it so it wouldn’t zap. Kinda annoying.
The light flashing in the room was a lot less with this one. Idk if that’s good or bad, appears to have the same amount of side vents but that one kinda makes me afraid my neighbors will see. This one is more discreet, idk if that’s good or bad. Is the light less strong? Who knows.
No idea why there are listed modes, maybe it’s memorizing the strength/level/settings you prefer in each of those spots? (“skin, face, body, bikini”)
This, its fan runs for a few secs before it turns off. The branded does not, idk why.
The similarities, the cooling. Cooling is a MUST, and this one was quite nice. I guess the heat of the glass/zapping is recessed so that part technically might not be cool?
Both have a manual and auto mode. This has a cap, the other does not.
Cord on this one is a tad too short but still functional anyway. The glasses seem to be fine.

Disclaimer: I returned mine unused. I am leaving this review mainly so anyone wanting to purchase who has autoimmune issues knows not to.
Once I received it and read the manual that stated not to use on light hair, sensitive skin or by those who have autoimmune conditions, etc. There were too many warnings of who shouldn’t use it. I knew it wouldn’t be for me. It may work great for others. I wish these warnings were in the description so I would have known not to purchase it.

The pamphlet that came with this is full of so many warnings, it is honestly scary. Especially the part about the laser and protecting your eyes. I value my eyesight too much to trust the pair of glasses it came with. Just a hard pass from me. I’ll stick with shaving and waxing I guess.

The build quality on this item impressed me just taking it out of the box. It has the heft and finish of what I imagine a professional tool might feel like. I’ve had laser hair removal tools before that were much less powerful; this one worked much better (so far) and was easy for me to use. Now if only they’d make one that works with greying hair…

I have had laser hair removal professionally done, but I like the idea of an at home option. Honestly, this is just as good as a professional session at a fraction of the price. It’s a lot more convenient as well. Instead of booking an appointment, waiting in the spa, and having a total stranger see me naked, I can do this on my own time whenever I get a few minutes to spare. The treatment itself is very easy to do. It’s important to remember to shave off all of the hair in the area first so it can really target your hair follicles. The set includes a disposable razor as well as protective eyeglasses.
