Immediately after shaving, glide the alum block over your newly shaved skin and enjoy a wonderful cooling feeling that is both refreshing, and therapeutic, in that any knicks or slight cuts stop bleeding. Where was this product? So much better than a styptic pencil pr alum powder plus the refreshing cool feeling on your face is so soothing. It leaves your face feeling fresh and new!

It was recommended to me by my son, since I shave my head and face with a blade every other day. I was constantly cutting or nicking my scalp, causing unsightly scabs that I had to cover with band-aids. NO MORE BUMPS! Just as smooth as can be!

How this product get 5 stars reviews I can’t even begin to guess.
Firstly, this “Alum Block” is not a true cut alum but one that is reconstituted from alum dust / bits / waste from the process of making true Cut Alum Blocks. This should have been stated in the product description.
Secondly, whatever process the brand used, it was shoddy.
I received my purchase with a good portion of the block broken and crumbled into bits, powdered.
Not only did I lost about ¼ of the block, powered, (first picture, the one with the Gentleman Jon Box) the block looked like it was compressed poorly. with the core much more loosely packed than the edge.
Had mine didn’t break apart, I would have been able to use this block for a while until I hit that loose core in a few months or so, and the block will start to crumble.
To be clear, (last picture with an actual cut alum block) a proper alum block, that I had dropped and while it chipped, it didn’t crumble but smoothed out to a glass like block after some use. (I had it for over 2 years now)
The Gentleman Jon’s that I received, didn’t even survived shipping, and now that the loose core is exposed, probably will not last too long with use.
This is a very poorly and shoddily made product.
I do not recommend anyone buying this.
Go buy an Osma block instead.

I have only tried 3 other aftershaves that did not work at all. but this one 10/10 works. very little sting, but works quickly.
The only grips I have is that you can’t buy a bigger block, this is the largest I could find on Amazon, I know you can buy bigger blocks outside of amazon but I don’t really want to do that

I ordered the soap and alum block combo, mostly because I needed an alum block and figured I’d give the soap a try on a whim. I love a large slim block – easier to hold and rub across your face. While this block weighs in as large, it’s cut haphazardly. No two sides are parallel to each other. It’s alum…. It’ll still work…. But it just feels cheap compared to having a nice rectangular soap-bar-shaped block.
The soap is supposed to be sandalwood scented, but this is definitely not a traditional sandalwood smell. It’s very chemically scented, with sort of a citrus note.
I may end up returning these and buying a better alum block. I don’t see myself using the soap when there’s so many better options available.

Been using this for close to a month now. I really like how it makes my skin feel tight after a shave and stops any cuts from bleeding. A little smaller than I expected but it seems like it will last a long time. Just be careful that if u nick yourself pretty good, this is gonna burn worse than after shave.
