The MAXGROOM 4 in 1 Body Hair Trimmer for Men was received as a Father’s day gift, and I am loving it since. It is designed for convenient use in the bathroom, boasting an IPX7 waterproof rating, which could be useful, even if that doesn’t mean you can full submerse the device in water.
This versatile clipper comes with several interchangeable heads, such as a standard clipper (with an optional adjustable length guard), a vertical clipper with a length guard, a foil shaver, and a nose trimmer.
The kit includes:
– A clipper handle with an integrated 800 mAh Lithium-Ion battery and an LCD charge level display
– T-Blade style clipper head
– Body clipper head
– Nose/ear hair trimmer head
– Foil shaver head
– Rotary adjustable length guard for the T-Blade clipper
– Cleaning brush
– USB charging cable
– Soft-sided travel bag
Using the clipper is straightforward. Press the button on the front to turn it on, and press it again to turn it off. The charge level is clearly displayed on the LED screen. It produces a typical noise level and feels substantial in the hand. For travel safety, there is a soft lockout mode activated by holding the power button for three seconds.
The integrated battery offers about 60 minutes of use after a 90-minute charge. The T-Blade clipper head trims very close to the skin and features a convenient length guard with nine adjustable settings. The body clipper head is also near 0-gapped and is designed to reach areas that the T-Blade might struggle with, especially around skin folds. Using the V-shaped length guard is advisable for sensitive areas.
Switching between heads is easy since they are held magnetically, and snap on and off effortlessly. However, I believe that the plastic components that engage with the rotating shaft may wear out over time. So, definitely something to keep in mind.
The T-Blade and body clipper heads perform well, as does the nose hair trimmer, although the latter lacks a screw-off top for easy cleaning. The foil shaver is unfortunately less effective, and using your favorite dedicated foil shaver is definitely recommended.
Overall, this kit is quite practical and efficient. Here are a few negative that I discovered while using this shaver:
– Charging block not included
– No clipper oil included
– Plastic components in interchangeable heads
– Nose hair trimmer lacks easy blade removal for cleaning
– Foil shaver head is not very effective

From someone who has tried most of the cheap battery operated alternatives, this was a great find and would recommend to others. The interchangeable head allows for multiple use scenarios and I haven’t found anything I don’t like about it. The motor is powerful and doesn’t grind or jam like the cheaper models did. Some complain about the sound but I don’t find it a problem even when trimming that pesky ear hair.

It doesn’t matter whether I’m trimming my chest, back, or more sensitive places like my crotch; the limit comb gives me the control I need to keep my appearance constant. I believe that the trimmer’s flexibility to be adjusted makes it suited for a wide range of grooming tastes since it can easily accommodate a variety of hair kinds and lengths. When it comes to other trimmers, I have not had a positive experience with those that are not waterproof since they restrict the places and ways in which they may be used. It is quite easy to clean the trimmer; all you need to do is rinse it under running water, and it will be ready for the next time you use it. I sooo wanted to give this thing 5 stars, but there were just a few areas in which it fell short.
[Design and Aesthetics – 5/5] – Packaging was amazing, with a very slick looking box, organized interior and accessories packaged in their own anti-static bags. In the hand, the unit feels solid, decently heavy and with only a single screen and button on the front. Very minimalistic, which is totally my style. Love it.
[Charging – 4.5/5] – Although charging doesn’t take THAT long, the screen only shows 2 numbers, which means the highest it can go is 99. When charging, a little red plug indicator lights up on the bottom and disappears when fully charged. But since it shows 99 when it’s really at 100%, it’s oddly unsettling. Just a minor detail. Would’ve been nice to have a silicone plug for the port on the bottom too, just in case.
[Accessories – 4.5/5] – Love that they included a foil attachment, with the ability to remove the foil cover to clean the inside. Unfortunately, the V-shaped head doesn’t open up so hair can still get trapped inside the mechanism. I was pretty close to breaking it trying to open it the first time. As for the main clipper, the inner blade isn’t as close to the upper blade as I was hoping, so it’s not possible to get a super close trim. The guard is also pretty bulky and not as easy to attach as some of my other groomers. And although the manual indicates that oil should be used on the clipper blades…no bottle of oil is included in the package. The carrying pouch is the redeemer here. Great material quality.
[Function and Noise – 3.5/5] – This is where the unit could really use some improvement. Since all of the attachments simply pull off and are held to the main unit using magnets, it’s SUPER convenient to swap them out at any time. I really like that. The attachment basically dictates the volume though. Some are louder than others; but overall, it’s definitely more than just a low hum.
As for the attachments, the V-head cuts closer on an angle than it does straight down, so getting a close cut in places is difficult. For some areas like the arms, back and abdomen, the ergonomics are more intuitive, for others like the groin or underarms, it just doesn’t work. Sometimes it just feels like the blades aren’t that sharp either. As for the clipper head, at first it didn’t seem to cut at all, especially with the guard on. As I mentioned above, the blades edges are just too far apart or not aligned properly. I’ve had clippers on the past where I’ve had to take the blades completely off and align them just to get a good cut. Seems like I’ll have to do that here. Out of the box, I really had to press these into the body to get them to trim, even with added oil. Kind of a bummer, despite the decent quality metal.
Surprisingly enough, the foil attachment seemed to be the best of the bunch, getting a decently close cut in the curves between the legs as well as under the arms. Absolutely no nics or discomfort in the sensitive areas either which is a massive plus. The nose trimmer also worked flawlessly so thumbs up there.
All in all, despite the perfect packaging and sleek design, I just wish the clipper and v-head were a bit sharper and cut closer to the body. No doubt that I’ll be using the foil attachment most, and we’ll see about adapting my grip over time to become more comfortable with using the v-head because it’s probably the second best of the bunch. Like I said, I was really hoping to give this thing full marks out of the gate, but that’s why testing is so crucial. However, as an all-in-one kit, it’ll definitely do the job for most areas, with some areas for improvement. Plus…yeah it does look kinda cool standing on the countertop. 4/5 stars from me.
