Wrote another review on their strong hold pomade. I will NOT every try another hair product again. This stuff (in all of its versions) is highly tailored to the look you’re going for. Whether its the pomade, which gives you a flexible hold with high shine, the grooming cream (my favorite) which gives you soft hold with very high shine, or the fiber which leaves you with a more matte finish and medium hold – I cannot live without American Crew in my life! I just came from a 3 week trip in Europe and I had went through about 9 different generic pomades that they sell in their pharmacies and/or grocery stores. NOTHING comes close to achieving the looks that American Crew offers you. I almost was depressed about it, and even considered having my friend go to my apartment to pick up American Crew products I left there to send to me in Europe! I should buy a stock in this company. The products are always on-point, smell clean/fresh, and offer exactly the hold/look they detail on the packaging. I must say somehow my hair looks even BETTER at the end of the day when I am wearing American Crew. Somehow this company has really figured out the science behind styling products and achieved some of the best formulations that pomades/creams/fibers can offer. I highly recommend building a small collection of their entire line. I bought a jumbo version of the hair gel to try recently, and I’m in LOVE. Do not EVER change. I will NEVER use another product, ONLY AMERICAN CREW!!! I LOVE YOU!!!

American Crew’s Pliable Molding Cream is a great hairstyling product if you’re looking for a strong hold with no shine. I used a similar product from another company and my hair would have fallen by the end of the day. This product holds throughout the day without falling, and then is super easy to wash out in the shower. I agree with other reviewers that say that there are some tricks to using this properly. Applying it when your hair is too wet won’t leave you with a matte, pliable style. What works best for me is to wait 10-15 minutes after I dry my hair after my morning shower, then rub the product in my hands to warm, evenly distribute, and then work into my hair. My hair is on the drier end when I being to style so I can achieve a matte finish, but not so dry that it’s impossible to work with. This product never fails with my thick, straight hair as long as I have the proper moisture level in my hair.

Con:
– You have to figure out the timing to create your look, and then stick with it, but that’s true of all hairstyling products
– Never leave the container open or cracked. It may dry up on you.

I loved it. It allows you to leave your hair in the desired position, the product is easily removed when you wash your head and does not leave a smell of fragrance, grease or anything else unpleasant. On the other hand, it yields a lot because only a small portion is used.

I love American Crew’s Fiber. I have been using it for over 7 years now.
– It provides a natural matte look (as opposed to the “wet hair” look of gels and pomades). Just use a small amount (I use more than a pea size – about two small peas) and warm it up by rubbing your palms together. Then play and style your hair with your palms, as you desire. If you want, you can always add some more. Don’t over-do it, though; it won’t look natural.
– If you want a slightly sleek look, you can moisten your hair lightly and then apply the wax. But the product provides almost zero hold with damp hair.
– Since you will be using a tiny amount, the puck-sized can will last you about 4-6 months (depending on your usage).
– It is not water-proof, which I like. This means that I don’t need to shampoo my hair to get it out of my hair.
– You can get rid of it from your palms and fingers by simply washing with water and soap.
– If you run your hands through your hair later during the day, it doesn’t “stick” to your hand; I like that.
– In the can, the wax is quite soft and is not tough like mustache waxes (which require you to run them under hot water to soften the wax, or use a blow-dryer to soften the wax in the can). It is not fluid-like and won’t fall or move even if you keep the can upside-down at normal temperatures.
– I love its lemon-sage scent; it is subtle and not over-powering. It doesn’t smell nasty like so many other hair products filled with mostly artificial ingredients.
– It works best with very short and short hair (up to 2.5 inches). You can style the hair any way you want and it will maintain its shape. You can lay it down or spike it up or try a short pomp. If you want a more “fuller” look, ask your barber or stylist to add “texture” to your hair (this means, they will either thin it with thinning shears or a razor, or point cut it at an angle to give it a “choppiness”. With choppy hair, the Fiber will work really well in giving a fuller look).
– It provides a strong hold for short hair (not screaming strong hold, though).
– With longer hair, it is sometimes a challenge. Laying it down works best for long hair; but if you want to spike your longer hair up, this will not work. It is not meant to, so I don’t blame it.
– My hair is mostly straight, but gets slightly wavy when over 3 inches (at which point, I get it cut shorter and then can use Fiber).
– It does not work for styling your mustache. Again, it is not meant to, so I don’t blame it. I tried it, but it failed miserably in achieving a handlebar mustache.
– Is it the best hair product out there for a matte look? Definitely not! There are many others which provide stronger hold and work on longer hair as well. But still, Fiber does the job really well in its category and I still use it because it works well with my hair.
To sum up: good matte look providing, water-proof lemon-sage smelling hair wax for short hair up to 2.5 inches.

This product was exactly what my son was looking for helping him get a hold he needed for the wavy hair look. It’s soft it doesn’t flake when it dries only a little goes a long way. That being said for the price it is it will last and I believe it was worth it
