Okay, first things first: it does have a smell. It’s not unscented at all. In fact, it smells like molasses to me. I’m very lucky that I don’t mind it.

It feels very moisturizing. I got it to help with some problem areas that other things don’t seem to help.
At first, it’s a little sticky. It dries down smooth though.

The pump SUCKS to open. I have carpal tunnel and tendinitis in my dominant hand. It took me like 10 minutes to get it open. Dear AmLactin, please work on your bottles. I finally got it by tightening it as tight as possible to the bottle, holding it with my non-dominant hand, and twisting the pump.

Overall, I still give it 5 stars because I’m not particularly bothered by the smell, and the pump is a one time thing.

Buen producto, me gustó que viene con dispensador lo que la hace fácil de aplicar, viene bastante cantidad, ya que las cremas que anteriormente había comprado era. Tubitos muy pequeños y de costo elevado.

I’m 41 and have recently had trouble with extremely dry skin. My dermatologist recommended this and it is amazing. The smell is extremely unique. Also, it reminds me of coffee. It’s going to be one of those things either you really enjoy the smell or you really dislike it, though, it is very strong. I’ve tried just about every lotion on the market with little result. My skin was so incredibly soft after one use.

I call this stuff a ‘manicure in a bottle’ because of how it destroys hang nails. I use this consistently, and it keeps my cuticles looking great. It also keeps feet smooth, as well as knees that get roughed up from crawling after children. While fragrance free, it kind of smells like brown sugar to me. Most of all, I love that this formula is paraben free!

I have very dry skin and have always had problems with rough, peeling elbows, knees, and feet. I started reading about how lactic acid can help heal and smooth dry skin and after some research, decided to try this lotion. I have been using this lotion for about four months and the results have been remarkable. I no longer have any dry patches on my skin, my skin has a much more even tone, and my knees, elbows, and feet are soft and smooth (I only use this as a body lotion and have not tried it on my face). The lotion is rather thick and requires some rubbing in and it does have a faint odd smell (sort of like warm milk?), but it goes away once you rub it in. But the results are well worth it!

This product is touted as one of the only dermatologist approved products available at a drugstore in the United States. It has such high reviews and is so widely advertised that anyone who was looking for a product to help with their skin issues. Would think this is the product that will work for them. However, there’s a problem with this product. First of all, it will really sting your skin if your skin is sensitive the sting is really painful. it does not hydrate your skin the way it is advertised. Dehydration is minimal. The best thing that I found at the drugstore and that I will only use on my skin at this point is made by laRoche posey. this does not moisturize really dry skin. In fact, I found myself having to reapply it several times a day just to have some sort of moisture, and I really was disappointed at how it dealt with the bumps on my skin. What I found is that it is just a very well advertised and well-known product and is not worth the money. In fact, it is insanely overpriced for what you’re getting. I would say that using any other lotion this would be better. If you’re really looking to deal with rough bumpy skin and your skin is not that sensitive you want to find a product contains Urea, Alph Hydroxy’s, Glycolic acid ect. D concentration of the urea in the product is very important. They have several brands on Amazon that have higher concentrations of urea and the brands are very very affordable and may seem to be a bad purchase, but they’re actually not because when you’re dealing with this kind of skin problem, anything that will exfoliate for example, glycolic acid is helpful. I found that urea is the best thing to deal with this skin issue. I also found that there is a product called skin smart available on Amazon. It is a skin spray that is recommended to use to cleanse away the bacteria on eczema. And basically what it is is it a spray that you would use 3 to 4 times a day and it cleanses the bacteria and you just let it air dry. Then you can add your lotion to it and you will find a great results. If you’re really desperate to get rid of your bumpy skin and this is something that you would have to be tolerant of I would recommend using plain Crisco and what you do is you have, you buy a cheap pair of sweats and a sweatshirt and you just slather the Crisco on every night and then put the sweats and sweatshirt on and in a week your skin will be so soft and supple. You will be shocked. The only problem with using Crisco is that it smells awful and if it gets onto clothes that you like, you won’t be able to get the smell out. But , my husband told me that my skin was like porcelain when I was using Crisco. And I would say that it’s a great way to jumpstart your skin care situation, especially if you’re desperate and I would not recommend it unless you were desperate however it does clog pours. It will not work with acne. You should not use it on your face. It is very greasy. It does smell badly. But if you put it on a bedtime and you have a cotton sweatsuit, you’ll be fine .

The smell is not great, but that is NOT the kind of lotion it is. It is a thick lotion, with an almost salty scent. Sometimes stings a little, on legs that were newly shaved, for example. But the sting is gone quickly. It has lactic acid in it, so it helps turn over your skin. Within a week of using it once daily I was able to notice a big difference, not only in the appearance of my skin but in the feel of it. It helps to even its texture. Great for mature skin like mine, but if I knew about this when I was in my twenties I would have used it.

I’ve been using this cream for several months on my legs and am on my second bottle. I use it 3-4 times a week.
PROS: the only product I’ve ever used that has stopped my legs from getting itchy! It is incredibly moisturizing and makes my legs nice and shiny. This product has also helped a lot with preventing ingrown hairs.
CONS: the smell isn’t great, but for me not a big deal. The cream does not absorb quickly (takes several hours for me). As the bottle states, it will burn if you accidentally get lotion on broken skin!
Overall, for me, the pros definitely outweigh the cons and I will continue to purchase.

  9. Suara yetunde

Really love the product. My skin feels so smooth from just the short time of using. The only down part is the smell but it wears off after awhile.

  10. Brittney R

This is one of the best body lotions I’ve ever used. It makes my skin feel so soft and moisturized. I have KP skin and this is one of the few lotions I feel I can see a difference in my skin after one use.

Having said that, there is a smell with this product that I believes comes from the lactic acid. I really don’t like it and it does linger. If you have sensitive skin, I would proceed with caution with this product as it does contain a higher concentration of an AHA (lactic acid at 15%) that helps to exfoliate the skin. Besides the lactic acid, it does contain some ceramides. Ceramides help to moisturize and strengthen the protective skin moisture barrier.

All in all, it’s a great product worth a try.

  11. Mother of the groom

This lotion keeps the skin cells turning over so that you don’t have dry flaky skin. It can make your skin a little sensitive to the sun. I recommend this to all my clients.

  12. Richa S

Does the job when used consistently; has a weird smell but it goes away soon after it absorbs

  13. C.W

So far so good. I have dry skin and for the past few days I used it, I am seeing improvement on my skin.
