I use these trimmers to give myself fades. Pictured is a bald to #1 self fade.

I zero gapped them to allow a smoother transition from trimmer to shaver. It required me to unscrew 2 parts and then just gently nudge the blade around until I was happy. No non-basic screwdrivers required. At first I went too close and the clippers nipped me so I backed off. I estimate there’s about 0.1-0.2mm gap now. I still have to be reasonably careful with the neck area under my chin but nothing else gets even close to bitten at this gap level.

The trimmers are great for fades and I also trim my beard with them using the 3mm guard included. Totally satisfied, would buy again unless I can afford Babyliss Skeletons one day, lol.

Excelente maquina, se siente un poco barato el plástico con el que está fabricada. Pero corta excelente y la batería le dirá bastante

These are the second time these trimmers were purchased and the first and second stop working not too long after. The most recent trimmers stop cutting right in the middle of my son cutting someone’s hair. Very embarrassing to have to tell a client that you have to run to a local store and pick up some trimmers to finish the haircut. We were a few days past the return window as well. Would not recommend these.

I’ve only had the Andis Slimline Pro LI for a week. Have used it twice and it worked well.

I’ve read a ton of reviews here on amazon and watched a ton of videos on youtube … so many positive thoughts are what pushed me over the edge to purchase this.

The negatives which were in many of both the videos and the written reviews were regarding battery life and power dying over the course of heavy use. I am only using this for self hair cuts so it will be very light use … which gives me (possibly false) confidence in the longevity of this product.

The other consistently reported negative is the on/off switch breaks easily. But again for myself … i assume with light usage this should not be too much of a concern.

What does worry me are the commenters here saying they’ve had it for a year or so and it just stops working. I suppose only time will tell.

But for $54 it’s a good risk/reward in my mind.

    YES … I SAID … $54 !!!

There unfortunately seems to be a bit of price gouging going on with this product. Like I said just a week ago I ordered this (it’s says Ships from and sold by Amazon.com … so I blame amazon … possibly just amazon bots for adjusting price due to other sellers raising their price … ya know, computer algorithms and all). And I read another recent post from someone saying the price has gone up $30 since they bought it a month ago.

So … I assume for a while this thing was selling for $54. Well now with all the folks doing home haircutting … it’s a shame to see the huge price hike. I understand ‘free market’ … but in the time of world pandemic … ya think people would be better. Maybe a $5 price hike … fine … with all the orders you’ll make a couple extra bucks. I mean, you’re already making a ton of money because due to this pandemic you are selling tons and tons more.

    I digress …

The only other concern … like a few others who have posted … My item may have been used and returned. I don’t think it was cuz I looked closely with a magnifying glass as I adjusted the blade to zero gap … but I did see a good amount of that yellow ‘goop’ inside. Might just be a heavy dose of lubricant … but it was more than I’ve seen on other products.

That all said … at $54 the price/value to me is excellent … out of the box it cuts pretty well … after you adjust the blade to zero gap (or very close) … it cuts really well! At the current price of $86 … I might go look at a different more ‘pro’ product that will cost around $100. But that is just my thoughts.

Here’s to hoping this holds up and continues to charge. Because as far has ergonomics … it feels great!

    Hope this helps someone!

I used the Wahl Sterling Mag for five years. It has the perfect size, weight, shape, and look. And it is cordless. It is super quiet, the battery lasts long enough, and it doesn’t take long for the battery to recharge. And it doesn’t really get hot. I just have two complaints. The motor isn’t that strong so haircuts take some time. And sometimes my hair gets caught between the blades. I used to take the blades apart each time that it happened, but it was too often. And then I learned that if I just continue cutting my hair for 1-3 seconds, the new hair it is cutting will dislodge the hair already caught between the blades and everything would be okay again. If there was no other cordless clippers of similar size, weight, shape, and look that worked as good or better, I would give the Wahl Sterling Mag 5 stars. But since I just found better clippers, I will give it 3 stars now.

The Andis Slimline Pro is pretty much the same size, weight, shape, and look as the Wahl Sterling Mag. The blade felt narrower, but it’s the same exact width. Unlike the Wahl Sterling Mag, it is super loud. But that’s okay. Because it cuts a lot better. It is less of a struggle to cut my hair now. Not only that, but there is less of a chance (no chance really) of getting nicks when I manscape. I think that maybe there is no chance of getting nicks because the blades are smaller and closer together or something. The Andis Slimline Pro also does not get hot. So yeah, I use this to shave my head now. I used to cut my hair every 7-14 days with the Wahl Sterling Mag and a 3mm guard. With these Andis Slimline Pro clippers, I cut my hair every five days and it seems less of a chore now. I had to use the 1.5mm guard instead though to get the same length cut at the Wahl 3mm guard.

I think that the Andis Slimline Pro is kinda better in some other regards too. The outside metal plastic doesn’t show fingerprints as much as the shiny Wahl Sterling Mag exterior. The stand seems better. I didn’t want my Wahl stand so I threw it away. But I love the Andis stand. The light indicator to let you know that the clippers are charging or already charged is big and nice to look at it. It’s a pretty green light. I paid around $80 for the Wahl five years ago, but this Andis was only $60. I’m glad that not only is it cheaper and better, but I didn’t have to spend $300 like for some of the other clippers that are often recommended that are bigger and heavier, like the Oster Octane and one other one that I can’t remember. I definitely recommend the Andis Slimline Pro and am giving it 5 stars.

What a nice trimmer, I think it’s my fourth and last trimmer, quiet, easy to use and hold too.
    Bonus, changeable blade!
