I bought it because it was cheap! I’ve owned $175 to $225 razors in the past and always end up going back to blades. Razors work well for a while but then razor burn starts getting out of control and I’m too dumb to use some lotion made for this problem.
I bought this razor because my work was going to have me on the road for a few weeks and I didn’t want to be shaving with a blade. I hoped that it would last for a dozen shaves. The first time I used it I had about 3 days growth and it took a while to shave 4-5 minutes. But it was still good. Since then I’ve learned that if I never allow it to go more than 3 days, I can have a clean shave of Face, neck, and bald head in less than 3 minutes. Now for the good news.
My wife says my face and neck have never felt this smooth. I agree! I never get razor burn, even without lotion. Best of all, I rinse it out in the sink, 30 seconds start to finish. It always feels like the day I bought it. Perfect shave every time. If it dies tomorrow, it will have been worth every penny I paid for it. Charges fast and will last a week or more without being plugged in. It’s never run out of power on me.
Again, no matter what you pay for a razor, I can confidently you will never find a better, faster shave, even with a blade.
Be smart, try it for two days. And you will agree that you spent your money wisely!

most of the time is works great, I notice on kids it does not preform as well, I love it though. My clients love the extra week it adds. So I charge an extra fee to use it for bald fades and beard. It leaves the head and face so smooth it is ridiculous, I am a female barber so I will never be able to try it for myself but my clients report no irritation, longer lasting cuts and they say it feel good while I am using it. It is easy to clean and stays charged for a long period of time.

I am 45 years old & have been shaving my head since 1996. I use a straight razor and go with and the against the grain so even when pulling my skin back you feel no hair. I have tried so many different electric razors that I lost count. They ALL claimed to not leave stubble, rashly skin, small cuts, etc… after gaining a little weight over the years I’ve developed a few folds on the back of my neck and I have to be super careful now to not slice a chunk out when using the straight edge. I finally looked into an electrical razor again and after about 2 1/2 hours of searching I landed on this one. And I am SO GLAD I did. I tried it right out of the box and I was floored! Amazed! I couldn’t believe it! This think didn’t just work but it worked VERY well! I had gone about a 9 days since my last shave due to a cut from the straight edge and it didn’t matter. This thing allowed me to Shane my head (dry) in just a few minutes. And left no little spots that the razor couldn’t reach, IT…GOT…THEM…ALL. The only downfall is that it didn’t get it as smooth at it does when I use my straight edge against the grain but that’s just something I like to do, or maybe liked to do because after using this and how fast and easy it is I don’t think it will even matter anymore. I can go this faster than brushing my teeth so an everyday thing will be no problem at all. As a bonus it dud something else that was a very nice surprise. I was able to shave my face and neck (dry) as well. Every and I mean every single electric razor I’ve tried on my face and neck in the past has not only not worked but after just touching my skin felt like it was pulling each hair out one by one. And when I did suffer through it hoping it might get easier it just left a nasty rash that lasted for days. So I was amazed when this working on my face & neck too!! Not a nick, scratch or razor bump came out of it. FINALLY!!! You also get a nice little face cleaner brush, massager and trimming attachments. I’ve seen others for 4,4 even 5 times the price of this and almost bought one of those on that itself. How can something that costs so little act work so well, right? After the reviews on here and a few other places this is the one I had to try and I’m so glad I did. You will be too, I guarantee it. If you are a head shaver and/or have sensitive skin, stop looking and order this now. And NO, I am not someone paid to write this and I do not work or promote for the company. In fact in over 10 years I might have only left 4-5 reviews for anything I’ve bought on here and I buy all the time. This is just do good and I’m so happy that I finally found something that worked and worked better than I could have ever expected that I had to leave this super long review. That part I didn’t mean but I just can’t stop. I guess I will now though as I’m sure you get my point.

I had to use my Braun 1175 for the last few years because of a skin condition that worsened with use of razors. It was a solid shaver, but it was work getting a smooth shave. This Andis shaves much faster, closer, and more completely. And although it’s light, the Andis seems solidly constructed. Still, it’s not the type of unit you want to drop on a tile floor.

Most electric razors do not give a close shave. I typically use a three blade manual razor and shave twice for a smooth close shave. While this electric razor does not give the same type of shave, it is the best I have ever found. I’m very pleased with it.

It’s a rather ugly piece of gear, no lie. But for maintaining a bald head, this thing surprised me a lot. I used a Headblade for years until I got tired of the disposable blade treadmill and the too-frequent poorly aligned blades (the final straw was a murderously badly aligned blade that literally scalped me). I then swapped to rotary shaver which worked fine until it decided to not charge or turn on anymore after about 9 months of service. I decided to give this style a try this time. I’d never been thrilled with the shave of the rotary shaver… it was okay but never as close as a thorough shave with the Headblade.
I got this Andis shaver in, fired it up, and started working on my head which hadn’t been shaved in the 3 days since my rotary broke. It took a while to dig through, but as I was working my fingers started feeling my head and I was kind of shocked. It was actually really smooth! Far smoother than the rotary and the equal to my “thorough”, in both directions shaves with the Headblade, yet it was more comfortable than those shaves too. I was able to get down to practically cue ball feel. Sure, it took some extra time but it wasn’t like a 20 minute thing either.
Since then, I shave daily. Cleaning isn’t bad, and I actually feel like it being NOT meant to go under the water is a benefit to its longevity. That clearly remains to be seen.
