I bought this for my daughter who swims twice a week. She just had her hair highlighted blonde and had blue streaks put in as well . I wanted something that she could put in her hair before swimming in the pool to protect the color from fading or turning green from the chlorine, and this really works!! The stylist who did her hair said the chlorine would strip the blue color right out of her hair almost immediately. It’s been over a month and the blue is still bright in her hair! It works great and was a great alternative to having to get her a swim cap, which she didn’t want. Very pleased!

I just started using this. It really does seem to protect my hair, it doesn’t get so dry after a day in the pool. After shampooing, my hair seems soft enough that I don’t need conditioner, so I will keep using this for sure.

Read this !!! This product is amazing!!!! (I’ve included some extra tips in this review please read) I have medium length non colored wavy/curly, fine/medium light brown hair… Before i found Aqua Guard recently I had been applying regular conditioner to my hair and then a swim cap over that before swimming laps at my gym , it was better than just water but not as good as Aqua Guard. I’ve been swimming a total of 2 months. This works as described, smells like cherries which I personally love, its not over powering though. I apply it to dry hair , I saturate my hair in it and don’t use any water (it says you can do either , apply to damp or dry hair) Damp method is good if you wanna save money on product use but I recommend on dry hair , under My swim cap it warms up and almost acts as a moisture treatment while I swim!! My hair is really soft after I rinse it off, and then I cleanse my hair with Tri-swim or Ion swimmers line(2 good swim products) or I use my sulfate free shea moisture shampoo and conditioner. That’s the nice thing about Aqua Guard , because it PREVENTS your hair from soaking up pool water you don’t HAVE to use a swimmers shampoo afterwards every single time , I alternate my swim shampoo with my sulfate free shampoo just to be safe, whereas before Aqua Guard I would shampoo with Tri swim or Ion swimmers shampoo every time because I HAD to remove traces of pool water from hair. The swim shampoos are great, but can be a bit drying on my wavy hair which hardly produces any natural oil and tends to be dry anyway. Aqua Guard also helps the shampoos to not dry my hair out as much . So it’s safe to say that aqua guard allows you to use your regular hair products more often and occasionally use a product to remove chlorine, I’ll be experimenting with this. IF YOUR CAP SLIPS Make sure you don’t have lotion or anything slick on your forehead before applying a swim cap, cleanse or face wipe your forehead so it’s dry and no oil and the cap will stick. Also wash the inside of your cap with dish soap to remove any slippery product residue, it will stick good. Do this after every swim if you don’t want your cap slipping off while using this protective product. If I do both of those things , the cap will get a good grip on my forehead skin and stay. I may have to pull it back down once or twice during my swim session but it’s not a big deal if protecting your hair matters to you , plus my goggle straps help keep it in place. They probably make caps that don’t slip maybe have a little chin straps ? Someone on here said they don’t recommend putting Aqua Guard on dry hair, and here’s why I disagree. Water isn’t good for your hair, lipids and oils are good for your hair. Water doesn’t moisturize hair in any way whatsoever and it actually takes away moisture from the hair shaft… and when hair is wet is breaks easier and damages easier. On top of that, most of us use tap water on our hair (hard water usually, some folks have well water which is even harsher) This water we bathe in has minerals metals , chemicals etc. in it . HARD WATER or WELL WATER can turn your hair BRASSY DRY and DULL btw that’s why you should use a hard water shampoo periodically (it’s different than a regular clarifying shampoo!!! But will also clarify your hair on top of remove hard water buildup and other stuff. MY POINT IS THIS, there isnt such a thing as a water soak treatment for hair right? The less your hair is wet in life the better so no , i dont recommend tap water soaks on your hair to prevent damage while swimming. It’s better than nothing however … soak your hair in lipids and oils, Aqua Guard preferably …. Here’s a few products for hard/well water – Ion brand from sally beauty makes a good affordable hard water line , and a swim leave in spray for after swimming and of course a swim shampoo and conditioner I use all of these products from Ion they’re great … or look into Malibu C products for hard water, Brassy hair and swim products they even have treatment packets that turn into a paste to remove past damage and build up/brass check it out , but also get what works for your hair type and do a test strip always if your hair is colored!! Or Paul Mitchell shampoo 3 clarifies, removes chlorine and hard water it seems to be a popular product) There are many others I’m sure. Honestly Aqua Guard is the only product like itself out there, it’s fantastic!!! I’ll be buying the big bottle from now on. You need this product if you swim or hang at beach. I also use a small amount as a styling cream or leave in on the length of my hair after my shower, the ingredients are similar to other leave in balms it really works for hair softening although it’s intended use is for pre swim I use it for this too. Hope this review helps good luck!

I like the cream before you go swimming, but I’m not convinced of the shampoo and conditioner.

I have silver color bleached hair, went into the sea water. Came out no problem. It works great.

Very pleased with this product and service, thank you so very much.

I love all three products. My hair feels moisturized and although nothing I’ve tried can truly get all the pool smell out of my hair, I’ve noticed that this definitely reduces the effects and smell of the pool on my hair. My hair is shiny and smooth afterwards. The products are lightweight and not overly thick. Since I take them back and forth to the pool, I didn’t use the pump bottles, I left the plain caps that they came with and that makes them okay for ease of use, I do wish there was an option to do a squeeze bottle but they work fine as is and I appreciate the option of the pump although I don’t use it. Super light smell – not unscented, but just a nice light unisex smell, which I personally prefer. It doesn’t give me a headache like some scented products. Does a decent job of reducing pool chlorine scent. The conditioner is not super heavy, I do wish I could find a heavier one for once-a-week deep conditioning, but it does fine and my hair color doesn’t seem to fade if I use these and a swim cap.

I ordered this product last week and have been very pleased with the improvement in my hair. However- the packaging leaves a lot to be desired. The pump dispenser is almost impossible to get to work. I needed a wrench and a strong husband.

Aquaguard Hair Treatment: A Lifesaver for Chlorine-Damaged Hair
As a frequent swimmer, I was always battling the damaging effects of chlorine on my hair. Frizz, dryness, and even color fading were constant issues until I discovered Aquaguard hair treatment.
This product has been a game-changer for me. It forms a protective barrier on my hair, shielding it from the harsh chemicals in pool water. After each swim, my hair feels soft, manageable, and looks healthier than ever. The color stays vibrant, and the frizz is significantly reduced.
Aquaguard is easy to apply and doesn’t leave a greasy residue. A little goes a long way, and it’s worth every penny. If you’re a swimmer or someone who simply wants to protect your hair from damage, I highly recommend giving Aquaguard a try.

My daughter swims almost everyday and this helps protect her hair from the chemicals. Her hair is not dry or frizzy and is soft. This smells great and is easy to use in dry or damp hair.
