I got this because my tattoo artist used ‘Recovery Derm Shield’ and i loved it, but it started leaking due to being too small with all the travel I was doing. I bought this other product because i could get it sooner. It was extremely difficult to put on VS the other brand my tattoo artist used, and it took me over a dozen times to try to get it right (it is a forearm tattoo). Once I finally got it to really stick, i was thinking i was golden… but it came off from sweat a few hours later (this is not something derm shield does), and the WORST PART OF IT ALL is it RUINED MY TATTOO because it gave me acne under the adhesive *only where this bandage was*. Each zit is a blemish that isnt holding ink and has ruined my work. I do not consider myself too sensitive, either. AVOID THIS PRODUCT.

First of all, don’t apply any ointment or lotion before applying this- I don’t with any other versions of Tegaderm or saniderm. I wash with antibacterial soap (like dial gold) in the shower and pat dry with a clean paper towel. You want your skin to be clean and dry when applying this. Also apply first patch for 24 hours after initial application of tattoo. Remove under running water in the shower, it will remove much easier. Don’t submerge tattoo. Also don’t be alarmed if you see an outline of your tattoo on the film, your tattoo should be fine, so as long as you stretch and pull the film gently away from the skin under the shower. This stuff is adhesive, which is what you want- you can wear the second patch for 3-5 days after with no issues (check for any loose edges and trim them and keep an eye for water getting under film). The picture I attached is from day 3 of wearing the second patch with the red and orange color. I was healing the normal way with thin coats of aquaphor with the peonies, and had issues with the blue, green, and purple color staying as saturated as I would have liked. In the past I have healed best with saniderm/similar products, and this stuff works great I am thrilled to report. I have sensitive skin, but am not allergic to any adhesives, so just keep an eye out for any redness or excessive itchiness.
This stuff also applies a lot more easily than another similar product I tried that my tattoo artist gave me (same concept, similar size roll). Make sure you get at least 1/2 inch margin around fresh tattoo, 1 inch is better.

Perfect for tattoo aftercare, especially for tattoos in odd areas. Excellent quality and great price!

This stuff works great! It’s very sticky so I recommend putting it under water to take off but didn’t have any bad type of reaction from it on my skin. I was skeptical because of how cheap it was but in my opinion works just as well as the more expensive stuff!

Some of the artists I use, don’t use this. It’s helpful for sleeping and not getting tattoo ink everywhere. Can cut to any size.

We had a new tattooist that put this on after a new ink. It healed better and faster. We did not have as much thick hard scabs that peel on thicker heavier lines. We did not take it off and reapply like some say to do. It’s for all kinds of skin and tissue injuries for healing. I will be honest it’s tough to take off. I would do it under water and stretch and peel it as you take it off. It is worth the pain for a better healing tattoo.

This is the best thing ever for those ppl who just got a touch new ink it keeps the tat safe and sanitary. Easy to use easy to apply easy to remove you can’t go wrong w it.

  8. ValkyrieTragedy

It sticks for the most part. It will also come off in a few hours if you do just say to day stuff which isn’t ideal really. Good for your money though. It is a little hard to apply the paper tends to want to stay on the produce itself. Over all okay quality.
