I am definitely not a fan. It sprays very little and not at an even pace. It is hard to tell what areas have been sprayed unless it comes out splotchy and this is the other way it sprays. Either uneven and unnoticeable or splotchy. It is just not an even spray that goes on smoothly. I thought maybe it needed to be cleaned, three cleanings later, it is spraying the same way.

I would recommend this at home tanning system to all first timers. I practiced on myself then ended up spray tanning several girls for prom. It was easy to use and the mitt helps with blending, so even for a newbie it was forgiving and turned out great!

The sprayer itself is fine. No complaints there.
The included solution, however, I am not happy with. I have used b. tan self tanners for a long time and have always been happy with them. After about 4 uses, I AM NOT happy with the spray tan solution. No matter how long I leave it on, it seems to just wash off completely when I take a shower. I can’t tell at all that I ever sprayed myself. I’m not talking about an “everything” shower, either. I’m talking about a jump in, rinse off, hop out kind of shower.
I ordered a different solution to try. We’ll see. I really hope this is just a fluke.

This is the first time I’ve ever used a spray tan gun machine myself on myself with no assistance and I think it was pretty easy. I had to make a couple practice sprays before I actually started spraying to make sure I had it. I can manage it I can see from the pictures, OK we’ll see how it turns out tomorrow. I just finished it.

So the machine itself kinda works, i think it’s a little trial and error, its kinda streaky but like i said, trial and error. It’s heavy so I don’t imagine i’ll be getting a good result if i do it myself, i had my boyfriend do it on me. The tanning solution though? terrible. did two layers to even the first splotchy layer out, and there’s no color payoff at all. I slept in it too, so it’s had plenty of time to develop and i’m pretty much just as pale. I ordered a different solution from norvell that i know works, which might give this machine a fair chance

Okkaayyy guys.
I’ve had this for 5 or so months. I’ve used it every week since. This is a great spray machine. There are some quick tips you need to know.
Let the product run through the machine for like 10 minutes guys. I’m not exaggerating. It needs to remove the air bubbles! Otherwise it will “spit” product out. I’ve seen reviews where people returned this because they didn’t let the product run through completely. I tied my hair band around the handle and sat it on the side of the tub and let it spray into the shower. I let it go for 10-20ish minutes for mine.
Do not use the product that comes with it. Buy quality product. Use a spray tan tent. This machine sprays a very fine mist that will get everywhere!!

Update to my first review:
Returned the awful splattering one and got a new one. This one thankfully doesn’t splatter BUT it is just as weak as the other one. Total garbage. What a massive disappointment. Used this brand for years. Now it takes at least 5+ times as long to tan and it still isn’t as good of coverage … even after going over and over and over again. What a total waste of money. There has to be a way to adjust the flow. (Aside from the dial that barely does anything). After years of tanning … now I have to find a new type of gun that actually works. These are absolute crap now.
Initial review- I’ve had 2 or 3 of these b.tan guns over the years and they were great. I accidentally broke my last one and the other ones wore out after years of use. I loved them. Never an issue. Decided to get a new one (same brand, of course) and it’s awful. The spray is beyond weak. It took F O R E V E R …and then started splattering the tanning solution all over. I’ve adjusted the settings and it doesn’t help. I don’t know if it’s this new model that’s horribly bad …or if I just got a cruddy one. Streaky splatters is not the look I wanted. Wish I could get the old model.

So as a millennial I have done tanning beds in the past and started using self tanner when it came out but never done an actual spray tan I think because I was nervous, being a bigger girl I didn’t want to get naked in front of anyone. Doing this at home is a game changer! I love it. It works for me- it isn’t one of the more spendy ones but that is just fine with me. If you are at all thinking about it, just buy it. So easy to use. I would start on like a level 5 for your first round and then go up from there depending on how dark you want to go.
