After having a chance to try out a couple of men’s grooming/landscaping trimmers, this one is by far superior. Not only does the BALLS trimmer look sleek and futuristic, but its features also truly emphasize its modernness.
The trimmer is completely waterproof, making it extremely easy to take care of my downstairs manscaping while I’m showering (usually my place of choice). It’s also USB rechargeable with a long battery life, so the trimmer can go through many sessions before running out of steam.
I’d also like to mention that the trimmer is pretty sturdy! As someone that’s already dropped it a few times, it seems to hold up pretty well even after taking some shock damage.
As for the sack safe guard, I like a pretty close shave (I like to live my life on the edge), so I don’t typically use it unless I’m trimming my leg hair! So far, I haven’t had an accident, so I can attest that the trimmer is safe to use, even if you want a skin shave.
Overall, I think the trimmer is a great investment and I highly recommend buying it over competing shavers! You won’t be disappointed.

To start – I received the product quickly – next day. The product packaging was sturdy and well designed with instructions (including QR codes for videos) to make it easy to setup and use. After a quick charge, it was ready for battle.
The product itself is fairly lightweight and comfortably fit in my hand. The devices features a light which is super helpful as I’m very fair-skinned with light-colored hair. It can sometimes be difficult to see what has been cut and what has not during and the light is really helpful in finding anything missed.
I initially used this on my face (with the guard) as my beard is pretty thick and rugged and I figured would be a good test for durability in terms of smoothness of cut the ability to “mow” without getting bogged down. Happy to say it was easy and smooth, no problems at all. I did not love the length of the shortest setting (too long) – but I recognize this isn’t exactly meant for faces (although who doesn’t love Balls on their face?!) A few days later, I tried it again without the guard and, again, found a quick and easy trim. I didn’t cut myself or anything like that without the guard and obtained a trim that was maybe 2 days worth of growth for me.
I love that I was able to use this in the shower – made it easy cleanup.
I am happy with the overall durability of the product and feel like it will hold out for a while. I would recommend.

I bought this on July 2023. I charged this twice. First time was brand new out the box. Second time was in October 2023. I am not so hairy that I have to use this daily so no need to keep charging this. I tried charging this using two different outlets and two different cables. The one that came with it and another known good cable. Let it charge for 5 hours each time and both times it failed to charge. I chatted with Amazon and I am beyond the return period. This has been a disappointing product and it appears from the reviews that I’m not the only one with this issue.

Never having taken the plunge and tidied things up properly down below, I was a little nervous about giving it a go. Having reviewed the various shavers available I went for the Balls version 2 model and have to say it’s been brilliant and I’ve been really very pleased with it. It arrived extremely quickly. The packing and presentation is excellent, and the shaver has a solid, well designed feel to it. When I contacted the Customer Service team with a query they were first class – came back with a reply right away. Charging is simple using the supplied cable, and adjustment to the shaver guard is very easy. And so to the trimming …. very straightforward, no nicks, no snags – just a smooth and efficient action. The motor is powerful – easily dealt with the overgrown undergrowth with no sign of slowing down. I’m very impressed, it’s an awesome bit of kit that’s left me feeling great down below, so much tidier – a great shaver, highly recommended.

Gotta say, really impressed with the trimmer’s construction. It’s svelte, but has a weight and balance I didn’t expect. Feels very high quality. Trimming experience was good. Very easy to use. And the built in light is a great touch. Highly recommend if you are a hard core trimmer or just want to dabble occasionally.

5 stars! This is a really nicely made product. It’s safe, well designed and easy to use for a delicate job. Having used the competition, which are mostly repurposed beard trimmers, the BALLStm shaver is a game changer.

Highlights:
-The packaging is really nice. Like Apple-level nice. It’s not the sort of box you throw out, it’s the kind you carefully store your lovely tool in.
-With a real sense of solidity and heft, the BALLStm trimmer feels like a high quality product. The button is crisp and nice, the guard fits snugly, the rubberized coating is anti-slip.
-Somebody really thought through the details here. You need a different angle to shave upside down in a complex area than you do to trim your beard. The BALLStm trimmer has a shallower head angle than my old trimmer, which was prone to mutilating me. More on that in a moment.
-Incorporating a LED light is a stroke of genius. Seriously. That alone would rate the 5 Star review.
-Unlike my old trimmer, this one has a charge controller, which protects the battery. The power button lights up (it spells BALLStm) and the button LED changes from red to blue when the unit is charged. So when you have blue BALLStm you can go ahead and use it….
-Instead of a janky rubber cap over the charge port that eventually drops off, the shaver uses a USB-C port and cord. These ports are watertight without a cover. Nice.
Using it:
Since I’m moving from the Bearded Zone (Wisconsin) to the Manscape Metropolis (Chicago), I decided to get a new trimmer to support my City Single life. After charging it, I got out the red towel, the styptic powder, combat gauze and some small rubber bands, then placed my phone near the shower. My old trimmer was about as precise as a chainsaw, and I was nervous.
And then…. It just worked! Using the guard, I was done in minutes with zero drama. Those blades are SHARP, there is no pulling at all. I personally wouldn’t use the thing without the guard. I rinsed it off, popped it on charge (done in 10 minutes), and when it was dry put it away in the lovely box. I think the combination of a good angle and the LED are the key here.
Hot tip-a little shave balm or hair conditioner sets up a nice glide.
