Not sure what’s up with the name but I love Beekman soaps so I had to try this. Unfortunately this burned my face and I was not able to keep it on as it became uncomfortable and my face was getting very red. I did not want to try again if I was having a reaction so I will have to pass on this one.

Beekman 1802 Potato Peel is a lightweight mask that you can wear between 5-10 minutes, wash off, and find a marked improvement to your skin. The 0.5fl oz bottle holds a pumpkin colored gel. The first time that I applied the peel I felt a hint of a tingle but the feeling only lasted for a few seconds. Once applied, the mask appeared clear and I did not feel like I was wearing a mask. The manufacturer recommended that first time users leave the mask on for only 5 minutes while advanced peel users can wear it for 20 minutes. I wore the mask for 20 minutes. Unlike other peels, when it was time to wash off the mask, it did not feel tight on my skin. It washed off easily and left no residue behind. After the first time I used the mask, I was impressed to find that my skin felt noticeably softer. The manufacturer noted that it is safe to use 2-3 times a week. I ended up using the product 2 times a week. After three weeks of use, I have found that my skin is soft to the touch, looks brighter and revitalized, and overall looks healthier. The Potato Peel is made with potato pulp and goat milk along with lactic & lactobionic acid and glycolic acid amongst other ingredients. The manufacturer noted that the product contains poly hydroxy acid (PHA) and alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that may increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn. It is recommended to use sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterwards. The only negative that I have for this product is that I wish that the bottle was bigger. With its petite size, it makes it easy to store in a makeup bag if you want to take it with you when you travel. It is a Certified Cruelty-Free, Leaping Bunny & PETA approved product. It is Made in the USA. It does have a high price for such a small amount of product but I experienced noticeable positive results so I think that it is worth the investment. Overall, I am pleased with the end results that I have experienced and plan to add another order to my Amazon cart.

This peel definitely works to help resurface superficial dark spots. I had this mystery spot above my eyebrow that looked kind of like a mole but also like an old scar but really dark, and this lightened that spot by 50% upon the first use. I was pretty shocked because my esthetician couldn’t get it off with peels and I have had several radiofrequency microneedling and laser treatments done which did absolutely nothing to this one spot. After that, I used this every 3-5 days. It didn’t lighten that mystery spot further but it has helped improve smoothness and brightness. It also did not irritate my skin. I was scared so I just did 10 min at first, then 15, then 25. Still did not experience irritation. It did burn slightly and tingle the first time though. All in all, I’m pretty happy with this peel but I just wish it were not so pricey.

This peel is very gentle. I have tried others and this is by far the most gentle peel. I really only use a peel for my rough forehead as most are a little too much on my cheeks and rest of face. This one is gentle enough to do my whole face. I do put it on my forehead for 4 minutes before the rest of my face and it works perfectly for me.

I like that this is a gentle peel, although I tested a small area the first time. It’s a gel-like texture peel applied to your face for 5-10minutes. I left it on for 5 minutes and it was easy to rinse off. My skin felt a bit smoother, but nothing drastic. However, the peel is good value compared to many others and I like that it’s gentle enough to use multiple times a week. No weird smells either

I have tried many facial masks and creams and they usually leave a little sting. This one was really gentle as advertised. It moisturized my dry face after showering, but it’s nothing special. Good value for a soft facial.

I have very sensitive/dry skin and I’ve been looking for an at home peel that my skin could tolerate. I’m so glad that I decided on trying this one. My skin did not react negatively and I felt little to no tingles. After leaving the peel on for 5 min I washed it off and followed with a hydrating sheet mask. My skin looked amazing afterwards, smooth to the touch, even toned and hydrated. Im very happy with the results and I plan on using weekly for my at home facials.

I really like this peel from Beekman. It almost has a gel consistency and it pulls a little when you put your finger in it and move it away. I use 1.5 pumps to apply this over my face and neck. It’s a small bottle, but I also don’t need much.
I did a test on my arm first and had no irritation. I left it on for 10 minutes the first time I used it on my face, and 20 minutes the second time. It rinses off easily and I use a face cream afterwards. I have no irritation, no dryness with it. I didn’t notice too much the first time, but after I left it on for 20 minutes it seemed like me skin looks just a little brighter and I could see the slightest difference. I did a second look in my 10x mirror. I still have the unevenness in texture and color, of course, but I feel like my skin is responding and I want to keep using it. In the past, I have had results with products that have glycolic acid as an active but this one is not irritating.
This has no added fragrance — very happy with that! The peel has a slight chemical smell but it doesn’t bother me. It dissipates after it is on my face and I don’t notice it after that. I would much rather have this than a mystery concoction of lots of chemicals that can be in synthetic fragrance.
