I used disposable facial razors for years, but just on specific areas. Once I wanted to try dermaplaning, I knew I needed an upgrade. And I was happy to see Billie had this available, since I already use their razors. I had zero issues using this right out of the box, and it was so satisfying to see the fluffy blobs of hair/skin that came off my face.
Make sure you are holding your skin taut—most of the time I can do that with my own facial muscles, and only occasionally have to use my second hand. I use quick short strokes. If anything starts to feel like it’s scraping you, stop immediately and readjust what you’re doing.

I expected this to be a lot gentler on my face. Unfortunately, despite following the instructions for use, I still managed to walk away with scratches and indentations on my face from the blade piercing my skin. By the time I was done, it looked like my cat had scratched up my chin, neck, and nose-area.
The cheeks were really easy to do, but otherwise you have to be careful of how quickly you’re moving the blade. It’s really easy to scratch yourself and my scratches took about a week to heal. It was mostly a first-time learning curve, as you’d imagine shaving would be.

I loved this dermaplane shaver. It made my face so so smooth. My makeup goes on so much better now. It is very easy to use but make sure you read directions if you’ve never used one. I did cut my face the first time using it because I got in a hurry but if you go slow it does a great job
