I would have given this product a “0” if that was an option. First off it is thick and creamy and nothing like a normal serum, more like a thick lotion. Secondly, I was able to squeeze no more than 6 usages out of the bottle (1 or 2 pumps each time). The container is thick glass to make tube seem like there is more content inside than there actually is. It was probably the biggest ripoff in makeup products I have ever had in my long history of buying, and I have tried all. So many lower significantly lower prices are so much better (I will not add product names). And I was quite excited to try the product after having seen it highly ranked in a high end beauty magazine; so sorry I purchased .

This product is derm doctor recommended. Science based which I love. Easily absorbed. Seeing lessened pore size, improved skin texture after about three weeks use. Does everything a retinol should do. Love it!! Will reorder. Love the Biossance line.

I purchased this product because I was looking for a clean retinol that had low health risks. I searched the EWG website and stumbled upon this one. It was highly rated on there for its clean ingredients so I figured it was worth a shot. I am so happy with my results so far! I have been using it for a couple of weeks every other day and my skin looks great. I have not had any peeling and very minimal purging. I will be purchasing again in the future!

Biossance is a highly respected skincare line that centers around squalane, and this product is no different as squalane is the 2nd ingredient after water. The stars of this serum, however, are two vitamin A derivatives: retinol & retinal. Interesting that this product contains both as I’ve seen numerous serums and creams touting the addition of retinol or retinal, but rarely both. It also claims to be extra gentle due to the encapsulation and time release technology. I can attest to the gentleness of this product. I use it once at day at night and have had no irritation. I have tried retinal serums in the past that have not agreed with my skin so was glad to see this serum kept up with its claim. The serum is very thick, more like a lotion, but absorbs into the skin very quickly. It plays well with my other skincare and doesn’t pill. There is no noticeable scent, and the serum is very moisturizing, likely due to the inclusion of squalane, a moisturizing ingredient. I’ve been using this serum for a few weeks so not long enough to tell if it’s really doing anything major to prevent aging skin, but it has made immediate improvement in the softness of my skin. If you have the budget for this serum and have had issues with irritation from other retinoids in the past, I would definitely recommend checking this one out!
