I naively assumed this would smell as lovely as the Biossance rose oil. It does not. It smells like a combo of wet dog and vomit. Truly horrible. So bad, I wondered if I got a batch that was “off,” but other reviews I have seen confirm it just stinks (wish I had seen those before I bought it!). It is otherwise a wonderful lightweight moisturizer that hydrates well and did a fine job of combating retinol-induced flakiness. I won’t be purchasing again, though, as I can’t stand the reek. Apparently some people aren’t bothered by the smell, which admittedly doesn’t linger, at least, but I am not one of them.

Like several others the smell isn’t my favorite, but I assume that’s due to the fermentation so I get passed it. After I shower and wash my face in the morning I apply the cream. To me it feels like my face is taking a big gasp of life giving air( picture breaching the surface of water) and I love it! I do sometimes feel like my skin is a little oily at the end of the day but that’s probably just more of the way my own skin reacts. I would recommend this product.
