UPDATE: I have been using this while gardening and walking for a few months now. Normally I am the kind of white person who turns into a sad lobster after 15 minutes. I can now be out in the sun for several hours, and just turn pink. Yeah, I try to stand under trees and wear a stupid big hat. But the fact that I can BE OUTSIDE IN DAYLIGHT… FOR HOURS… This stuff is quite powerful.

I had almost given up on finding a facial sunblock and resigned myself to staying inside (ugh.) Chemical sunscreens make my eyes burn and water even to have an open bottle near me, and the other mineral ones I’ve tried have been ok on my body, but on my face… ew. Chalky and also greasy and heavy. This one 1. doesn’t burn, even though I bravely put some on my eyelids! 2. goes on chalky, but blends in with my chalky winter complexion. And honestly, if it turned me lavender with teal spots, I wouldn’t care, because… 3. it doesn’t feel any heavier than wearing a BB cream! Which is admittedly heavier than I like, but still light enough to tolerate. And I went out in the winter sun and snow-glare and I didn’t get a burnt face, so it works!

Seriously, I don’t want to turn anyone off because I said it was chalky. It faded in about 30 seconds with minimal rubbing. I made my husband examine my face up close (poor dear) and he asked, “Did you put on makeup? It looks nice.” (No, but points for effort.)

I’ve used this product for a long time and loved it: good SPF, non-greasy, non-sticky. Back in December I started to get a terrible rash on my chin to the point that it was peeling painfully- I had to go to a dermatologist and get a prescription topical gel to cure it. At the time I didn’t guess it was the moisturizer because I had been using it for so long with no problems. The dermatologist had me switch soaps and moisturizer to be safe and it cleared up.

In February I tried using it again and the rash started to come back after just a day, which is when I realized it was the moisturizer. I thought maybe some bacteria had gotten in the tube and threw it away- the rash then disappeared on its own. I went back to the generic moisturizer.

It’s now May and I decided to buy a fresh tube because I wanted the SPF protection as I started to spend more time in the sun. I just put on the new tube this morning and not 12 hours later my whole face and neck has erupted in a rash. Either they changed the formulation or there is a manufacturing problem but I STRONGLY advise against buying this in case it is a manufacturing issue. I also noticed that the packaging came with an insert saying the tube was covered in a protective foil but there still may be product apparent in the cap, but I didn’t see the foil when I opened it (even though there was plastic tape sealing it from the outside). So disappointed and angry, I loved this product but I will never use it again.

I have been looking for minimal only sunscreen for a while and I am so glad that I found this one. It’s not greasy and also keep my face moisturized. It doesn’t have clumps residue like others that I used. It does have a bit of white film left on your face when you first apply because of the zinc oxide, but I don’t like tinted sun cream so I am not complaining: )

I went months with eyes that would burn and run randomly to the point where I couldn’t even keep them open. I thought I had developed intense allergies, but medication wouldn’t fix it. I finally deduced that it was the chemical sunscreen I had been using. Once I switched to a zinc sunscreen, I never had the eye problem again. BUT now I was getting ghost-face from the white cast of the zinc.

When I discovered this product all my mineral sunscreen qualms went out the window! I don’t know how they are able to make a mineral sunscreen with no white cast, but I’ve been using this for two years, and I don’t think I’m switching to any other sunscreen. It’s an added bonus that it’s very hydrating (so when I travel light or have a lazy morning, I can use this in place of moisturizer, too!)

I have fair skin and I am very particular about using “clean” beauty products. I’ve tried many mineral facial sunscreens but most either leave a white cast, are too thick, or have a fragrance of some sort which I try to avoid.

This sunscreen is absolutely beautiful. It’s lightweight, leaves a dewy finish (something to think about if you prefer a matte look) and there isn’t a fragrance. I’ve been in a lot of family photos recently and didn’t notice any white cast. I usually apply two layers to my face to use the full recommended amount for proper protection and I’ve never had an issue with pilling. I also think it looks beautiful as a base for makeup. It is also worth noting that the EWG (I know they’re a bit controversial) rates this sunscreen as very safe and has the proper balance for UVA and UVB protection.

    This sunscreen is the GOAT.

I have used other mineral sunscreens where the ingrediants separate and comes out in oily, sticky globs and when appled to skin leaves me looking like a ghost and gets on everything including all over my car and never comes off. This product is nicely completely blended, absorbs quickly and leaves no horrible residues anywhere.

I have always used a hat along with this product since I’ve had previous facial skin cancer. I did notice that after about an hour in the noontime sun even with my hat when I returned that my face looked red and almost sunburned. I haven’t tested this product yet for longer periods but will soon when I go camping. I hope that it is effective and doesn’t result in sunburn because I really need the protection…
