The shave is not quite as smooth as it was with my old 390cc-4, and the grip is not quite as comfortable, but it’s a decent replacement. It does have a built-in trimmer and is supposed to work when plugged in even if the battery is dead (which is why I bought this model).

I had a Norelco 2300 that seemed weak and needed charged a lot to get a decent shave die after two years. I took it apart to maybe change batteries and it was 2 AAA’s. Feeling ripped off I bought this and it is way stronger for a similar price (louder and vibrates harder, multiple shaves when fully charged; love it), quickly shaves as close as electric shavers do (for $50 I don’t expect razor close) and the clipper extension cuts thick hairs way better. Many reviews said $100+ shavers are a bit better but I am thrifty.
Norelco saved like 2 bucks on batteries and lost a customer.

Trash product never buying BRAUN again… Bought the combo series 3 with charger station. Charger station stopped working within 8 months even after fully cleaning it out. First series 3 lasted about 14 months before the head went bad and the trimmer stopped working completely. Bought a brand new series 3 still didn’t work with cleaning station and now 12 months later the trimmer already broken again. Trash product waste of money get WAHL or something that actually works

I have the blue version of the 3000 series and like that, just needed a second for my gym bag and travel. It works well, better than other razors for this price so I’m happy with the shave I get out of it.
HOWEVER – be careful if you’re used to the other 3000 model shavers – this one doesn’t have a trimmer. Not a HUGE deal, but I’m knocking off two stars because not only is this not really covered anywhere in the product description, BUT the picture where it says “Tackles Tricky Areas” even shows an image that looks like it has a trimmer.
If this was going to be the only razor I had I would have returned it, but as a gym razor it works fine.
If you want a trimmer as well get the blue 3040 – same shave, but with the trimmer and as of this writing it’s only like $3 more.

Have used Braun electrics for years. Went with this model for the price, the pop up trimmer that requires no additional parts, and the fact you can use it while it is plugged into its charger. Works just fine after a month of daily use. Have a 2 year old blue series 3 that cannot be used while charging so will use that one for travel now.

Between the Braun website, Amazon marketplace and other online reviews, there is no consistent information whether the 3000s comes with a trimmer, so I thought I would post this to help those that are in my same boat. Today is 8/31/24, and here is what I got when I ordered the Braun 3000s. It came with the precision trimmer… nice! The trimmer is no replacement for my Wahl clippers, but it will do in a pinch for sideburns. As for the 3000s shaving performance, it is awesome! I have a notorious difficult beard on my neck that goes in all directions, and no electric shaver has ever been able to get it. The 3000s does.

Gives a decent shave. Not razor close, but as close as a shaver gets. I have to shave daily for work and this doesn’t irritate my skin. Takes a little longer than a razor because certain spots have to be gone over a few times to get them close, but overall not bad.

Forced to write a review after first use. I have been using electric shaver for 9 years. I have tried philips aquatouch (multiple models) shavers till now. Recently purchased this one. I shaved three days beard with this and it felt like breeeeze. At first I was skeptical about the performance but after using this I can guarantee that Braun is way too ahead of philips in terms of shavers. It’s class apart. With Philips shaver, I couldn’t even shave two days beard properly.
Special plus point: It takes way lesser time than a Philips aquatouch shaver.
All those who are fond of electric shavers must give Braun a try. You won’t regret.
Point for improvement : charger sold in India should be compatible with Indian type sockets.

This Braun razor is a winner! This Series 3 electric shaver replaces a 12-year old Series 3 that performed flawlessly. This latest model is a major improvement in every way.
The newest version is slightly lighter, is much quieter, and oscillates at a higher speed for a better shave. The basic all-black finish is attractive and practical. Given the razor’s fine build quality and great features, the price is a bargain.
A clear plastic head guard is also included, as is a larger cleaning brush. The razor has dual power and works great either when plugged in or fully charged (a terrific feature). The battery technology has certainly improved as this newest model stays charged for an entire month with my daily use.
My only suggestion is that Braun should include a handy coiled charging cord like the one that came with my older model. A coiled charge cord makes life much easier when using the razor plugged in and when charging. I will continue to use my old coil cord since it is compatible… but I also found a mint used Braun 12V coiled charger online.
This rugged razor is built like a tank and the overall design and ergonomics are first rate. It took only moments to bond with this excellent electric shaver.
This new Braun Series 3 has all the right stuff and it puts a smile on my face every time I use it. I am confident this razor will also last for many years. Highly recommended. Check it out for yourself.
