PROS: This is a great. Right priced shaver. The option to do wet shave is nice, but I don’t use. Not only do I get several weeks on one charge this shaver also charges quickly. I am pleased at the floating head and non tilting pivoting central head. Being able to go straight in and angle using my hand I feel more control over my shave. You can actually press fairly firmly against your skin without getting razor burn.
This shaver has a nice textured grip to it and is not a shaver you will drop. Lastly not to bulky and fits well into my Well Traveled Toiletry Bag along with my electric toothbrush and other items. One more thing the Braun replacement heads are still priced under $25 I just bought another just in case. Still using the head that my shaver came with and happy with the results.

CONS: I would prefer hard plastic to the rubber grip as I worry about rubber grips over time. Don’t loose your charger as it is not USB, few shavers have USB chargers and a USB charging port would make this shaver perfect. (Although I have the feeling with USB port charging would be a longer process) Guard for head is not universal (Although I don’t think any are) Performance drops off after two or three shaves if you have not emptied and cleaned the shaving head. bdv

Yes I’d buy this again and recommend it to a friend.

The Braun electric shaver is a versatile and highly convenient grooming tool designed to provide a smooth and comfortable shaving experience. It’s equipped with a **waterproof** design, making it perfect for both wet and dry shaving, whether in the shower or at the sink. This feature not only enhances the ease of cleaning but also allows for a more refreshing shave.

Its compact and ergonomic design ensures a comfortable grip, while the long-lasting battery life makes it ideal for travel or daily use without frequent recharging. With sharp, skin-friendly blades and a powerful motor, this shaver offers a close, efficient shave, making it a reliable choice for your husband’s grooming routine.

I used Philips Norelco rotary shavers for years. Gradually more dissatisfied with the shave quality, even after new replacement heads, it was just not “cutting it”. I tried the Braun Series 3 Foils Shaver. My first foil shaver and wow! What a difference… I purposely went unshaved for 3 days to “stress test” the Braun . Happy to report it worked perfectly. With a beefy grip (great for us with large hands), powerful motor, and overall great design. The integral trimmer is super sharp and cuts a nice straight line.
Some reviewers were critical of not having a USB C charger connection – it made no difference to me. The unit gets charged – I don’t see the issue… The design is such that you cannot use it whilst it is plugged in, presumably the manufacturer does not want folks getting electrocuted during use.. not a big deal at all.
Charge duration is excellent and underscores the the overall usefulness of the device.
Excellent value for money and a well designed, well functioning effective shaver – at last!

Since the days when I first started to shave, to now being 56 years old, I have always used a Norelco rotary razor. The 7340XL is the razor that I have been using for several years. I used to be happy with it when I was able to find/purchase the HQ9 SpeedXL blades for it. The triple track blades always did a great job. However, with those blades no longer being available, I have been forced to switch to the SH50 blades. In my opinion the performance with these blades has greatly dropped, and I am not getting as near of a close shave as I used to. It’s not the razor’s fault that the blades are not as good, but I finally decided to see what other razors the world has to offer.

After researching on-line, and a huge tip of the cap to ShaverCheck, I decided to give foil razors a look as they appear to offer a closer shave than a rotary. After much debating, I finally settled on the Braun Series 3 ProSkin. Venturing into the foil realm for $60 seemed like a good place to start as compared to going all in and spending $250+ just to find out that I don’t like foil razors.

I received the new razor and charged it up. I admit that I was a bit nervous to try it – would I be happy with it or did I just waste $60? And if I wasn’t happy with it would I be doomed to putting up with a lousy shave for the rest of my life.

Well call me impressed. What an incredible upgrade as compared to what I was used to. A significantly closer shave with no skin irritation whatsoever, all while still being very easy to use. And for only $60, granted I did then purchase a travel kit and a replacement cassette to have on hand. The $25 cassette was a nice surprise as well as it costs less than the crappy SH50 rotary blades that I had been purchasing.

Bottom line is that I should have made this switch years ago!

I was so pleased with this razor that I bought the same model to replace the one that had been lost by the airline! Clean shave every time. Side trimmer is great and the charge lasts over a week. I also bought the USB C Shaver Charger Adapter for traveling.

I bought the razor for my brother (older and has dementia). He likes it and it works well for him.
It gives a good shave and is easy to clean.

The braun series 3 3040 shaver works extremely well. It was recommended by a few people around me and it exceeds expectations.
The blades can cut through every strand of hair while not damaging or cutting my skin. The build quality is really top notch and it feels comfortable to hold. The side blades can support areas where the blades are having trouble reaching or in an awkward position.

The battery life lasts through over 30 shaving “sessions”. The shaver being waterproof means you can wash it easily and don’t have to worry about damaging it. It also comes with a neat brush where you clean the compartment that the shaved hair goes into but do NOT clean the blades with the brush it will damage it.

Overall it’s a solid 10/10 for me and the way the blades are shaped and doesn’t hurt to touch makes it a really safe and well designed shaver.
