I’ve always had problems with trying to find s decent hair product which give a lasting hold without making my hair clump together and look greasy. I have thick blond hair and used to use a matt clay by V05, however, I always found it made my hair look very greasy, lost it’s hold easily and needed constant re-adjusting. I also tried the Matt Separation Wax produced by Tigi Bedhead, however, I found that it lost it’s hold in hot temperatures such as on holiday and in clubs, and whenever my hair grew, I had the same problems associated with the VO5. Bumble and Bumble’s Sumotech is a miracle, I was surprised to see how small the pot was when I first tried it (especially for the price which some may find ‘extortionate), however, it lasted me almost 3 months, and that was with daily use. You only require a tiny amount to be applied to the hair, and I usually apply it on lightly dampened hair then blow-dry into the preferred shape. It gives a very strong hold whist not making it look greasy but giving it an almost shimmering effect (almost Joey Essex style). I have to say that unless they (whoever they may be) make something better, I’m never going to use anything else!

I’ve tried lots of other hair creams/gels/products and they always felt like products made for moody teenagers in middle school. This, on the other hand, is a nice, casual product which gives a professional feel and look. I will use this as long as it is available.

I’ve been using Bumble and Bumble Sumo Tech since 2006, and it is heads and shoulders better than any other styling product I have found out there. Actually I also had several roommates over the years that once I started using it, they dipped into my stash and were instant converts as well. It has great styling hold that will last all day no problem and through nap time too if you fall asleep. And it has this great styling power and hold without any of the set backs like greasy textures or brittle crunchy hair that plague other products, so it maintains hand run-throughability. Furthermore Sumo Tech has a light almost tropical smell that the ladies appreciate.
Some people have mentioned a change in the formula over the years affecting the quality of the product, but I have not noticed anything of the sort. Sumo Tech is temperature sensitive though. If left in the heat it may become runny and lose a little holding strength. If left in the cold then it can become slightly unmanageable. However this issue can easily be overcome.

Sumo Tech is definitely one of the best hair styling products that I have used. It is very easy to apply, easier to apply than Crew Fiber but I think Fiber holds a bit stronger. It also feels softer and less stiff than Fiber but has a bit more shine to it. It smells really great. Overall I prefer this over Crew Fiber but it is kind of expensive… and it looks like it is even more expensive now then when I bought it.
The only product that I’ve used that I think is better is the Oribe Rough Luxury Molding Wax. It is the most expensive though.

I’ve used B&B sumotech for years. For shorter cuts, its performance give so much hold and shape-ability while remaining light. Smells great too. The small container lasts a long time since you only need a tiny scrape from the top. Start with less and add more if needed. So it’s really a great value for the price.

I’ve ordered this product several times. It’s supposed to be a bright white, solid cream with the consistency of “cold butter”. The last order, the product appears yellowish and smells like rancid oil. And the consistency it that of “melted butter”. I tried reaching out to manufacturer, but they told me to email the global customer care team. No resolution. I returned the product to Amazon, and was shipped a replacement with the same issue.

My husband use it every day. It is not greasy and controls fly aways. I even use it on my hair when it’s really humid outside. Helps with frizz!
