I have sensitive skin and don’t wear makeup or wash my face much. I hardly ever get breakouts so I don’t feel the need to use anything other than water and a microfiber cloth, as any harsh cleaners seem to throw off the pH of my skin.

However I was pleasantly surprised by this gentle cleanser! I’ve been using it once a week and have not experienced any breakouts. My skin feels so much cleaner before I apply moisturizer now!

I really wanted to like this, but it made me break out after only a few washes. It felt moisturizing, but it also felt like I had used bar soap on my face. It left that squeaky feeling behind and I really don’t like it. It also didn’t wash off makeup really at all, so at best this would be for a second cleanse, but honestly I felt like I had to wash my face after to get the residue feeling off. Once I got out of the shower and dried my face felt fine, but for all those reasons I really had to stop using it. It was not for me, and I have dry skin!

This was originally listed at a very high price and adjusted to match the price of their other cleansers. At $31 this is certainly pricy, but not crazily so. I really enjoy this cleanser. I don’t typically enjoy cleansers that claim to be hydrating as they usually have a lotion-y feel to them that I don’t feel like cleanses my face. This has a very different feel to it. It feels like it really cleanses but it’s not stripping the oils out of my skin and leaving it with that tight feeling. You really only need a pea-sized amount or less. A little goes a LONG way because how much it lathers and foams up. It’s a good bit perfumed, but I can justify it since I’m washing it off my face and not leaving it on. My skin has been looking better since I started using it. I use it when double cleansing at night with a cleansing oil before, and I use it on its own in the morning.

Oh my gosh, even before I saw the price ($163.80), I was about to say I didn’t care for this cleanser. I know Clarins is expensive and I’ve enjoyed the other products I’ve been fortune enough to be offered. I was surprised how much I didn’t like this. It came in a badly beaten up box, but the tube itself was sealed. It’s thick and creamy, but mine felt more like a lather than foam. Maybe it would have foamed if I used my powered scrub brush like I normally do. I didn’t care for the powdery-perfumy fragrance. And afterwards, I thought my skin felt a bit dry and like it had residue. I can easily pass on this one.

I really like how this face wash develops into a light mousse consistency when using. It feels light and gentle on the skin. It has a slight fragrance which is pleasant and not overpowering. It rinses clean from the skin, and leaves skin feeling soft and smooth (not at all tight). I like that it’s not drying, and does not irritate my sensitive skin. My skin feels refreshed after using, and I follow up with my normal skincare routine without any reaction to the other products that I use. This facewash is definitely a special treat since it’s on the high side price wise. It would be a splurge for me, but luckily you don’t need much product to get your face clean.

This Clarins facial cleanser works great! It’s rich & cleansed my face well but didn’t leave it feeling dry. It didn’t foam up very much but it was still easy to lather up. A little goes a long way-the amount I squeezed onto my finger in the 3rd picture was actually a little much for washing my face & neck, so I squeeze out a smaller amount now. It has a very pleasant smell, but it is pretty strong for those people who have sensitive skin or are sensitive to smells. The pop top lid makes it easy to use.

I have been using the Clarins night cream and have enjoyed it so I jumped at the chance to try the cleanser. This review does NOT take into account the price of this (which is quitre hefty for a cleanser). The first thing I noticed was the scent – it is a quite strong floral scent that stays with you the whole time you are washing. If you are scent sensitive, avoid this!! I thought the moisturizer had a strong scent until I tried this! The second thing I noticed is that a little goes a long way (which is good considering the price). This cleanser is meant to be patted into the skin, then water added to rub into a foam texture. the first time I used it, I used a face cloth to apply and it was like putting on straight up cream to wash with. I followed instructions the next time and the product emulsified nicely with water and (again) a little goes a long way. It rinsed easily with face cloth and left my skin feeling soft and refreshed.

This is a lot lighter of a cleaner than I was expecting, which may be good depending on your skin type & quality. Unfortunately, it doesn’t provide as deep of a cleansing experience as I was hoping for, even knowing this is a gentle cleanser, I just was hoping for a little more out of it. It doesn’t seem to wash my face well at all. It does seem to be a nice formula so I will leave the rating at 4 stars as it’s probably my mistake for getting a product more oriented towards a different skin type than mine.
