Really love this shampoo. I have been suffering with folliculitis for a number of years. Whilst this has not fully cleared it up it has eased the flare ups so worth a try.

I will write out what my opinions on the good and bad.

    The bad, first:
This shampoo is expensive.. and you have to use a good bit because it doesn’t lather that good. And wow! The smell is terrible to me; it smells like a chemical. So if I use it in the shower, I’ll wash my hair first, THEN my body because I don’t want to smell like this shampoo.

    Now on to the good:
I will say it works extremely well for folliculitis.. it got rid of most all the scabs and bumps on my scalp, so I’m suffering a lot less than I was before. In my opinion, it works better than the clindamycin topical that I was prescribed. I’ve used it 3 times in the past 2 weeks and I’ve only got 1 bump on my scalp that I can feel.. which is a vast improvement to where I was.

    Final thoughts:
If you have folliculitis and you are tired of the bumps on your scalp, then deal with the smell 1-3 times per week. This shampoo does what it’s supposed to do.

Firstly, I’ve been seeing a dermatologist for 2 yrs and he keeps sending me home with ketoconazole shampoo, on prescription and I’ve had no relief from the itching and bumps on my head. In one of the auto immune groups I’m in, there were discussions about itchy scalps with little bumps that would turn scabby. You get bumps, you itch, they bleed and repeat. A few had talked about this shampoo and how it had worked great for folliculitis which is what I thought I had and was sure this Dermatologist was wrong.

Now if your a Brit over here in the US and ever used TCP, then this is that same smell, I actually love it, but oh good god it stinks of antiseptic.

I have long thick hair so I use maybe a quarter size dollop, in two goes. Don’t have the shower on hot, luke warm is great and get your hair thoroughly wet. Dry off your hands on a wash cloth or you’ll lose that shampoo when you pour some into your palm and then rub your hands together to make a kind of white, creamy kind of looking shampoo, then shampoo that into your scalp, just as you would normal shampoo only without the coconut or jasmine notes. Repeat again if you have longish thick hair. Turn your shower up and wait for it says a minute, but I do two, due to its thickness. Turn your water down to luke warm and rinse well. You’ll need a conditioner on those ends as this isn’t very nourishing. I don’t typically dry with a hair dryer, but I did notice the time I did, the smell dissipated more, but it was still there, those slight undertones of TCP.

I noticed relief after the first try and now I use it once a week. I’ve booked an appointment with a new dermatologist and will take the shampoo with me and make sure I have made the right diagnosis but I think I did, Because I don’t have a single itch or bump after three weeks of use.

    Arrived quickly and packaged well.

Works well for drying out irritated patches on my hair scalp. Doesn’t irritate the scalp and doesn’t sting.

For almost $40 and near perfect reviews, I guess I expected the product to work. Perhaps that was silly of me, but if a company is going to charge more than 4x the price of store products, I assumed it would be better. If anything, after the 2nd wash it appeared to aggravate the issue.

I know this review is likely to get buried under all the glowing 5 star rave reviews, bit for what it’s worth, I get better results from Neutrogena T-gel, selsum blue

I’ve had scalp acne like skin for 15 yrs. I tell myself this works but after about 2 years using it. I still have full blown break outs of bumps n acne like bumps monthly and weekly. I’ve tried tree oil. Tree oil shampoos and , it seems like heavy sauna sessions and gym sweating seems to work best to minimize breakouts but if I slack it comes back strong and this shampoo really doesn’t help prevent my breakouts. Even if I’m religiously in sauna and gym I break out but not as aggressively. I use this every 2-3 days and I think I can give up at this point . I tried not eating chocolate, and no sugar those don’t make a difference either. I like to think this works just to make myself feel better.
