For years I have used and loved the formula that came in a light blue, clear bottle, but this one is not the same at all, and doesn’t work for my curly hair. It leaves it greasy looking but crunchy. Unfortunately, I’ve had to find another product to use.

So my hair is long and heavy so it doesnt really make my hair CURL but it does keep them waved up enough to have some sort of style. It is light weight and let me tell you the smell is so pretty, I love ALL of their products especially the hair mask.

If you are hoping for the same product as the original “blue bottle” from the past I suggest you pass on this “new” black bottle. The product IS NOT THE SAME!
Someone else had mentioned it in their review and I was hoping it wasn’t so BUT it is.
So disappointing! Will not be making another purchase.

Colorproof’s curl cream is a very lightweight, heavily scented curling cream that does define type 3 curls well but doesn’t do much for type 4. My teens both have type 3 curls, and it makes their hair absolutely gorgeous – well defined, shiny curls that are just everything. It provides a light hold but doesn’t make hair stiff or crunchy. It’s a great curl cream if it works for your type. Based on the photo in of the model with gorgeously defined curls in the before/after photos in the description, I was hopeful that this would work for me as well as my teens. I have 4c hair. When it says best for wavy hair, they’re not lying. It doesn’t do anything at all to define my curls.
I’d still give it five stars because of how well it works on my teenagers if it wasn’t for the scent. The scent is powerful, sweet and cloying. It has strong notes of peach and reminds me of V.S’s Love Spell (and I HATE LOVE SPELL WITH A PASSION). It also lingers for. ever. Parfum is really high up on the ingredients list, and I can’t with the scent.
If you have type 3 curls and like smelling like a musky sugary peaches from the lingerie store, you’ll love this curl cream. I personally almost put my teenagers out of the house in 10°F weather but didn’t want to have to take them to the ER for frostbite over Christmas.
3.5, for the awful smell, but I can’t give half stars.

I have naturally wavy hair that I usually style with a lightweight curl cream and a foam. I subbed this product for my usual go-to cream, brushed it through while wet to distribute, scrunched in some foam, diffused, and wow! I’m super stoked about my results. Great definition, volume and hold. I was initially concerned that this would maybe be too heavy for me, since I’m a wavy, not curly. But I was pleased to find this wasn’t an issue. My hair was so big, my arms weren’t long enough to get it all in the frame for a pic. I love it!
This is pretty pricey, though, for such a small bottle. I used about a quarter-sized amount on each (top and bottom) section of my hair as I was styling. At that rate, this won’t last me long. And I wouldn’t say it’s necessarily *better* than my usual go-to cream, which is quite a bit cheaper per ounce.
That said, it’s an excellent product. Highly recommend.

The scent here is heavenly. It is really heavy but in all the best ways. I used this, put my hair up in a bun and then, when I let my bun down a few hours later, I was struck by this totally incredible scent. Wow! I just love it!
This has a good thickness. It’s not so thick that you need to “work” it through your hair and it’s not so thin that it is messy. And this does a phenomenal job of defining hair. It makes hair look shiny, mangable, and really healthy.
If you are looking for what may be the best smelling hair product on the market, grab this! You won’t regret it!

It is lightweight, reminds me of leave-in conditioners. It has a pleasant smell that stays in your hair all day. Keeps my curls looking soft and smooth. Gives my hair volume that lasts throughout the day.
EXPIRATION DATE: NONE!
I always check for expiration dates before using, ESPECIALLY with any skin care products. The expiration date tells me whether a product has been sitting somewhere on a shelf or an idea of when manufactured for distribution. This product does NOT have an expiration date most likely because it is not required to.
In my opinion, the PRICE is decent for this product. It’s well made and exactly as advertised.
