This curling iron is the perfect size, heats up quickly, has good spring and holds hair well. But, as others have noted, the cool end is too small. I read that and thought I could learn to work around it, but I’ve burned myself several times. I’m keeping it and using it, but be aware!

I already had this curler in the 1″ size. That one is great for big, soft curls. But some sections of my hair are very stubborn and don’t like to curl or stayed curled. I also sometimes wanted a more pronounced curl. The 3/4 inch was the perfect diameter to get the fun, bouncy curls I wanted for some looks. The curl lasts for days! With no product – just my hair and this curler. Which is saying something as my baby fine hair is very hard to curl. A tip to getting curls that last without product – mist your hair with water before curling. I learned that trick from a Conair steam iron I owned years ago – it was the first curling iron that gave me curls that lasted. Sadly, mine succumbed to mineral deposits clogging the water line and they don’t seem to make the steam irons anymore. Misting your hair works nearly as well though.
My original foray into ceramic irons was years ago when they first hit the major chains and only plain ceramic was available. The plain ceramic was far too rough for my fine hair. My hair would cling to it and break, so I went back to the metal ones that left me with flyaways and lots of split ends. Then I read about tourmaline ceramic. Seemed to be an improvement over the ones I used in the past, so I purchased the Revlon tourmaline curler in the 1″. Loved the tourmaline, hated the curler. The tourmaline worked great to smooth my frizz gently and make my hair shine; however, the curler kept shutting off on me while I was trying to curl my hair and the clamp cover fell off after a couple weeks of use. The cover I just glued it back on, but I could not get the iron to stay on for a whole curling session. I have loved previous Conair items I have used, so I decided to give their tourmaline a try.
*The tourmaline finish wasn’t as smooth as the Revlon finish, but it doesn’t tear my hair like the plain ceramic curlers, so it’s still a win.
*The heat STAYED ON!!
*The curl lasted longer than the Revlon curler.
*I like the heating controls a lot better on the Conair. You can choose the actual Fahrenheit temperature (who knows what 22 actually is?).
*The barrel cover they include with this curler is also a big plus – solid and easy to put on.
*Another plus is the tab counter stand – nothing for your hair to get hung up on and nothing to manage before putting the iron down.
*The cord is quality; it swivels easily and doesn’t twist into a knot (the Revlon one did – hard to curl when you’re fighting a cord).

El producto lo he pedido desde Amazon España. Si Amazon está vendiendo este producto en la región de España, a la hora de venderlo deberían especificar que viene con enchufe americano y además solo admite hasta 120 V, por lo tanto, en España no se puede usar ya que aquí la corriente es de 220V (a no ser que se compre un transformador a parte, con la pérdida de tiempo y dinero añadida al precio del producto, que no es barato), de no ser así, se quemaría el producto. De no ser porque me lo han explicado en una tienda al ir a mirar enchufes adaptadores, habría usado el producto y lo hubiera quemado, perdiendo la opción de devolverlo.

I had one very similar to this one and when it was on it’s last leg I saw this and bought it because my last one was a Conair that lasted 15 or more years. But this one has a tip on it that people say is too short so they say their hand slides down and they get burned… no, that’s not the problem. The black tip ITSELF gets burning hot a little more than halfway down on it where it’s supposed to be cool! I burned myself on it a few times. It really hurt. I had to use aloe vera on my burn. The other thing that is wrong with this one is that the clamp is not very strong and your hair slides right out. I had to keep re-rolling my hair while I was in a hurry. I sent this one back and got “old faithful” Conair “Instant Heat” Curling Iron. It never accidentally gets shut off, the tip never gets hot, and it will last for years and years. And even though it’s not tourmaline, I saw no difference at all in my hair. You might want to check that one out.

This was my first curling iron that finally works for my hair and adding volume.
Only issue is make sure your screws on the clamp is secure and not loose. It came off mid-curl on a client as I was rotating with the clamp open. I doges it from falling on her face so I did get burned nothing major but a hot clamp falling on you an hour before a photo shoot is not ideal.
So PLEASE make sure you watch out for the screws or replace those short ones with longer ones.

He had a trip to Europe recently and it works there too at 220 volts even it intended for 110 volts.
