I have been using this black toothpaste for 2 years. Keeps my teeth so white. Love the taste took. Keep in mind there are different versions of Crest charcoal toothpaste. I don’t care for the taste of others. Love this specific version. Love it.

I’ve never had whitening toothpaste ever seem like it’s really doing anything but I’ve actually had people ask me what I do to keep my teeth so white. At first I attributed it to my sonicare toothnrush but I’ve used that for years and not gotten the comments so my new conclusion is it’s the toothpaste! My daughter started using it and I’ve now seen her teeth getting noticeably whiter too. Love the taste and dentist approved it so I’m officially a fan!

At the very least it doesn’t stain your teeth black.
First thing i thought of when I saw charcoal and then squeezed a bit out.
The charcoal acts as a mild abrasive. Toothpaste is already mildly abrasive so this adds on to it.
Think of this has hippie crest 3d white.

There may be some efficacy to the tea tree oil with regards to gingivitis. Some RCT studies have found a benefit. Take that with a grain of salt as you do not know how much tea tree oil is in each gob of toothpaste. Think of it as flavoring unless otherwise noted.

It does have a bit of a sandy texture, most likely due to abrasiveness provided via the charcoal. it isn’t unpleasant however. When you squeeze a bit out it is a light black color. Doesn’t leave any of that color on your teeth however.

What I don’t like is the sodium fluoride. Don’t get me wrong, I only brush with toothpastes with fluoride but I normally use stannous fluoride aka tin fluoride which is found in other toothpastes, mostly the sensitive toothpaste varieties like crest gumcare. Sodium fluoride tends to dry my mouth out. I have dry month in general but there is a marked difference between sodium and stannous fluoride in my experience.

All in all, not bad, might help a bit more than other normal grocery market toothpastes but the jury is out if it really is much different in practice.

I don’t know if Crest still actively produces this so I buy it here and it’s more pricey but it’s definitely the best toothpaste I’ve found. The regular Crest charcoal does not prevent stains and whiten like this one does. That tea tree oil makes a difference.

This toothpaste is really good. Everyone here at home is using it. I noticed that it cleans the teeth very well, it gradually eliminates the tartar (it softens). And the teeth whitening is very mild. Don’t expect a Hollywood smile, because it’s not going to happen. But, the paste provides a very clean smile.

I think the major thing that might throw people with this toothpaste is the tea tree oil element. The content of tea is minimal, as is the taste. Mostly, this has a minty taste. Overall, this is much like any other white toothpaste from Crest, Colgate, etc. It has a nice consistency. The tubes seem slightly smaller than usual, but by that same token you get 3 boxes when you order from Amazon at a good price, so I think it’s relatively inexpensive. The paste lathers up well but not excessively. I’ve been using it every day for a month or so along with a new electric toothbrush, and I think my teeth look whiter and feel cleaner. I’m not sure if you can attribute this more to the new toothbrush or the toothpaste, but I like to think both are effective cleaners and whiteners. I would highly recommend this.

I love this toothpaste. I have been using charcoal toothpaste for a while but I hate the mess. I tried switching back to non-charcoal toothpaste and felt like I wasn’t getting the same cleaning.
This is the best of both worlds and it has the slight herbal with mint taste I’ve become accustomed too.

I love that the foam is white. I don’t know how dark toothpaste comes out white and not leaving the dark charcoal residue in the brush but I am very happy crest found a way to dupe the feeling of a charcoal cleaning without the mess. Very happy with this product! And it’s much cheaper than the other charcoal toothpaste I was buying (even though it may seem expensive for normal crest prices compared to charcoal toothpaste, it’s a good deal)
