I used it with wet hair and it really works. It separates the strands of hair so the curls can form nicely. I really love it. I have stopped using curling iron just this is perfect for everyday use. 👍

Maybe I’m doing something wrong but it’s not making my daughter’s hair as curly as I had hoped for… do I need to add extra product to her hair to make it work better?!

I love how my curls respond to this brush! This brush has done wonders!

This is a dupe for the Bounce Curl brush for curly hair that went viral in late 2023 and continues to gain traction throughout 2024. It’s roughly 1/3 the price of the original and from what I can tell, after watching a fair number of demonstration videos, it works exactly the same way. I was unwilling to pay nearly thirty dollars for a hairbrush to find out just how awesome the Bounce Curl brush was–but I would happily pay ten dollars for this one.

I will admit I thought it was all just hype and tried using my own boar bristle brush (just a typical brush without the grooves around the edges) to achieve the same thing. My results were better than I got with my Denman brush, but not as good as the results I achieved with this brush. This style of brush truly is the holy grail for curly hair–the hype is based on reality.

NOTE: If your hair isn’t curly, this brush can’t give you curls. Based on the reviews I read, some people seem to think that it can. It can’t do that. Use common sense. It’s just a brush.

It enhances the curls you do have by smoothing and separating them. That keeps them from being frizzy and gives a ton of volume. The curls also last a lot longer in my experience. I’ve got really nice 3-day curls as I type this. If your hair isn’t healthy you aren’t going to get perfect results. Nothing can fix unhealthy hair but growing it out.

You have to do a number of things to achieve these amazing ringlets. It’s not a brush and go simple kind of thing. First of all, your hair has to have good product in it and be sopping wet. You have to section your hair and, keeping tension on the hair, brush in small sections (see YouTube curly hair experts for more visual guidance). Then you have to either patiently wait for the hair to air dry or dry carefully with a diffuser. All of this takes time. Some folks are lucky enough to have fast-drying hair. Others, like me, need help. I have to diffuse for about a half hour. Whether that’s worth it to you is your call. It is to me.

My hair is dense, coarse, low porosity, 3c. I can’t speak directly for other hair types, but indirectly I’ve seen a lot of different curl types use this type of brush with great success on youtube videos. I’m not sure about 4b and 4c folks. Hopefully other reviews will help those folks out. But I would assume it would work just as well.

    Highly recommended for curly hair.

One of the standout features of this curl defining brush is its ability to comb and shape curls without causing excessive pulling or breakage. The bristles are thoughtfully designed to glide smoothly through the hair, detangling without tugging. This is especially beneficial for individuals with naturally curly or textured hair, as it helps preserve the integrity of the curls while providing definition.

I have noted that the brush is ideal for styling, as it helps to create well-defined curls that look bouncy and full of life. Whether you’re enhancing your natural curls or styling them after a wash, this brush makes the process effortless. It effectively separates and defines each curl, giving a polished and professional finish.

In terms of design, the brush is comfortable to hold and easy to maneuver, making it user-friendly. Its lightweight construction means you can style for as long as needed without experiencing hand fatigue.

Overall, the Curl Defining Brush is a fantastic investment for anyone with curly hair. It delivers on its promise to comb and shape curls while reducing pulling and damage. Whether you’re looking to enhance your natural texture or achieve a specific look, this brush will undoubtedly become a favorite in your hair styling arsenal. Highly recommended for anyone seeking to achieve beautiful, defined curls!

This hairbrush worked great on my granddaughter’s hair. Beautiful ringlets!

This curl defining brush is a game changer for curly hair! It’s super gentle and doesn’t cause any breakage or pulling. The bristles are designed to detangle without any tugging. I have long curly hair and this brush separates my curls beautifully. It almost looks like I used a curling iron. Plus, it helps reduce frizz. I used to comb with my fingers and it would cause a lot of frizz, but this brush gives my hair a much neater look. You can separate your curls after it dries for even more volume. It’s awesome!

First of all, this brush, just as a brush, doesn’t seem to do anything to promote curls. The curl actions seems to come mostly from the prongs on the side, so that when you curl your hair up with the brush it threads through them. That’s totally fine, and probably works well in tandem with a hair dryer, but isn’t exactly what I was hoping for. I was hoping just by brushing it’d help promote my natural curls and waves, but alas.

It is really good at getting out knots, though. It’s a bit of an oxymoron, but it gently works them out, but with aggression. What I mean by that is that instead of ripping through all the curls at once, it bit by bit rips them apart. So, it works really well, but it’s still pulling kinda hard, just in short bursts instead of all at once. I give it props for this feature, because it works well. They should highlight it in on the store page, in my opinion.

The brush’s design, by the way, is somewhat of a hybrid. It has long thin bristles with balls on top, which we all know from cylindrical brushes and certain puffy brushes, but under that is a half inch of bristle brushes, as well. So while you’re going through with the long prongs, the bristles are doing work on the hair that passes by them. It seems to work decently.

Overall, not a bad brush, not an amazing brush. It works, seems pretty durable, and has cut outs in the side that probably help with curls when used with a hair dryer.
