Summer has arrived early and it’s time for heat and humidity = dermatitis. So far this has been great, no smell or fragrance just an old fashioned soap. Lathers up really well, only very little is required and cost efficiency is great, would definitely recommend. Leaves healthy looking skin and very smooth.

I did a lot of research when looking for a sulfur face soap to hopefully help with rosacea break-outs on my nose.
I am an older person with dry skin, and many reviewers cited the drying nature of sulfur soaps in general and also the off-putting smell of sulfur.
I chose to order DermHarmony mainly due to a shorter list of ingredients (aka, fewer additives). I would have preferred NO salicylic acid, but nearly all the sulfur soaps contain it for some reason.

I received my order yesterday. Upon opening and using this bar of soap last night, I noticed first of all that it had NO SMELL.
No, it not only doesn’t smell like rotten eggs; it doesn’t smell like much of anything at all.
Secondly, it did not cause the awful drying or burning that so many people reviewing sulfur soaps complained about.
I noticed a mild “tightening” of the skin when it was on, but it appeared to rinse cleanly off, and my skin felt very soft afterward.

I happened to notice a strange new break-out pimple near my hairline last night as well, so I used some sulfur soap on it, left the soap on for a few minutes, and then rinsed it off.
I usually use a small amount of Aveeno regular lotion before bed, and that is all I needed after washing with this soap.

This morning I lathered this sulfur soap and used it only on my nose. I left it on for about 10 minutes, then rinsed it off.
No burning, no redness, no smell, no excessive dryness. After two uses, it does not appear to have have an affect on the rosacea either way, but I know it can take awhile to see results.

However, also this morning, I noticed the pimple near the hairline is now a barely noticeable small bump under the skin. Whether the soap had a part in clearing it or not I can’t be sure as it might have gone down on its own overnight even without the soap (but, it is my first data point).

I rate this soap 4 stars for a gentle sulfur soap that softens skin with minimal drying.
I probably wouldn’t do well with anything stronger, so this was a good choice for me.

I’ll update my review and add a star if I find that this soap is effective in helping to treat rosacea break-outs or even to rapidly clear that occasional pimple of unknown origin.

I got this after reading that demodex mites do not like sulfur nor salicylic acid, and since this soap has both, I was praying it would stop the itching. It has virtually no smell and after using this all over my body, including scalp, eyebrows and eyelashes, the itching finally stopped. It also didn’t burn my eyes (I was careful to rinse well before opening them), nor did it dry my hair out. I followed it with the Paul Mitchell tea tree oil hair and body lotion. Mites also hate tea tree oil. I’m going to do one more tx in a few days to make sure they are completely gone but I highly recommend for demodex mites.

So the soap itself is decent. Doesn’t smell too bad, definitely left my skin feeling cleansed in some respects. HOWEVER the reason I bought the soap was to try and treat a possible scabies (mites) infection on my skin. The end result was that most importantly it did not kill the scabies infection on my face. IF YOU HAVE A POSSIBLE SCABIES OR MITES OUTBREAK ON YOUR BODY THE BEST THING TO DO IS IMMEDITIATELY SEEK A DOCTOR AND GET PRESCRIBED PERMETHRIN ASAP. Don’t waste time. After applying this soap my outbreak got even worse. However as bad as it got, once I applied permethrin the worst of the infection was over, and the itching over my body persisted for another week or two. Therefore I only give this soap 3 stars, would only give more if it treated the scabies/mites as well.

Since it seems to work for myriad skin issues, I got this to see if would alleviate stubborn lichen planus symptoms. I used it in the shower, so used it on my face, too. It was fine, great lather, no odor, no dryness or skin irritation of any kind. So far no improvement on the LP, but holy shhhhh, completely unexpectedly my face looks amazing. Pores shrank to zero. Even more impressive considering this is during an extended period of blistering high summer heat & suffocating humidity, which usually makes my oily skin go wonky. I can’t ever remember using a bar soap on my face. This company’s bar soap is more potent than the liquid face soap it sells, so I guess I’ll be sticking with the bar. Kinda pricey for body soap, but just used for face the cost won’t be bad.

Works great. Cleared up blemishes for me in just a few days.

  7. Skiddlymax

This soap is magical!!! It lathers quite well and I absolutely love the way it makes my skin feel – silky smooth.

  8. Cara Ebers

It’s a little stinky, but that’s to be expected because it is a sulfur-based soap. However, the scent is not too unpleasant, just a little sulfur-y. It won’t have you smelling all day.
I have been struggling with hormonal breakouts for about a year. I use this in the morning and the La Roche Posay medicated cleanser at night. This soap works. The combination of the two facial cleansers proved to be one of the only things that helped minimize the breakouts. It does dry your face out, so it is best to follow it up with a gentle moisturizer, but it leaves my face feeling so soft and clean after using it.
I have gotten 3 of these bars so far and I do not see myself stopping using them anytime soon. My dermatologist says that this bar can be used on the body if you are experiencing chest/back breakouts, but the smell, albeit subtle, is not one I would want to rub on my body.

LIFE SAVER, CLEARED, MAINTAINED MY SONS ACNE ON HIS NECK. The smell is a little stale, and please dare to get it in your eyes. My goodness it burns so bad
