This Biolumin-C Night Restore is a total WOW. I am a regular nightly retinol user but I am about to shake up that routine with this serum and alternate every other night because I love the effects and ingredients. My face feels so silky and plump in the morning. This serum contains lactic acid, an effective anti-aging ingredient that exfoliates gently. It also has tranexamic acid to even out skin from hyperpigmentation as well as preventing it. And your vitamin C is derived from natural citrus extracts. There are several hydrators working to strengthen skin barrier – Vitamin D, glycerine, castor oil, propanediol, squalane, soybean oil, to name a few. I find that Dermalogica usually strives to create a tolerable way to balance anti-aging ingredients with skin barrier protection in their products. This serum is a perfect example.
I like that the consistency of the serum is not runny and easy to spread. I wait a good 10 minutes for it to absorb before applying any additional moisturizer. The scent is a mild citrus from all the extracts included, but there is no artificial perfume. It should be tolerable to people who are sensitive to scent. It is cruelty, free and even gluten-free. I like that it’s manufactured in the US. If you are someone who cannot tolerate retinol, this is a fabulous nighttime alternative.
I have every reason to expect skin evening results with consistent use, but in the meantime I am enjoying the morning glow and deep hydration. Totally recommend this serum!

So to begin, the texture of the serum is lovely and velvety, not thick or gritty at all. It goes on easily and absorbs readily. It is less oily than a cream. There is no residue, it just disappears. The hydrating and moisturising effect is very quick, less than five minutes. The ‘brightening’ happens overnight, and it will take more than a few weeks to tell if its having an effect. Personally, as of right now, I have to say it does appear to be making a difference. The skin is slightly brighter and certainly more hydrated and smooth, which gives the impression of less folds and wrinkles. It is only improving the smallest of lines at the moment, but over time maybe it will make a permanent effect. Very few products like this actually do what they say, so this is a happy surprise. I have not had any bad reactions during this trial.
Even though it seems to be working, for the price I cannot really recommend this. If money is no problem for you and you need something that actually does something then maybe give this a try. However, as always be skeptical and take photos to make sure any progress isn’t all in your mind.
The price will be unjustifiable for most people but I am going to give this four stars despite the silly price.

This serum absorbs quickly and feels non-sticky, making it perfect for morning use even though it’s labeled as a night serum. My makeup applies smoothly without any pilling. The consistency is thick yet easy to spread, and it has a mild, pleasant citrus scent that’s not overpowering. It feels gentle on my skin and doesn’t cause any irritation at all.

I have a love hate relationship with Vitamin C skincare products. Vitamin C is known to be a great skincare ingredient, but I have found it can also be drying to my skin and cause it to flake. I decided to try this serum because I have tried several other products by Dermalogica and have always had great results. This Vitamin C serum has additional ingredients in it to sooth the skin and protect the skin barrier like prickly pear, green algae, and Vitamin D complex. The texture of the serum is fairly thick but it does spread evenly over my face and feels nice upon application. I have been using this serum right after cleansing and toning my face because I was always taught that Vitamin C should go as close to the skin as possible. After applying this serum, I apply a barrier cream over the top and my skin looks and feels very smooth and hydrated. I would recommend this product if you are looking for a Vitamin C serum that is gentle but gives great results.

It provides a deep level of hydration, and my skin feels much softer in the morning. I also love how it helps reverse some of the effects of environmental stress during the day. My skin tone has become more even, and it gives me a healthy glow when I wake up.

It’s lovely, as well it should be for a high end Vitamin C product. It didn’t improve my skin “overnight” as the ad claims but over the last week my skin just feels more balanced and maybe a bit more bouncy texture-wise. I’d definitely get it again if there is ever a sale as it’s a hefty chunk of change!

I like the concept of overnight skin “nutrition”, but this product is so sticky that it is unpleasant to use it even overnight. It also appears to be lightly scented with some sort of citrus flavor, potentially to indicate the presence of Vitamin C. I could not see any results from using it because I could not make myself use it regularly.
I love Dermalogica as a company as they practice ethical cosmetics making not testing anything on animals, but this product was a miss for me.

This Dermalogica BioLumin-C Night Restore Vitamin C Serum is truly amazing. It feels great on my face, neck and chest (I also put it on the tops of my hands). It absorbs quickly leaving my mature skin plump, hydrated and luminous. Vitamin C serum is one of my go-to’s for my mature facial skin (I’m 58), and this serum really comes through in that area. My skin looks glowy and my makeup goes on so smoothly after application. I would totally recommend this serum. Two drawbacks: The dropper does not work well on my bottle and I have to really work it around to get product into it. I would think with a product at this price point that this would not be a problem. I kept the stars at 5 though because the actual product is super impressive!

Slightly thick but luscious feel to this serum when you apply it. No distracting or artificial scent. I found it a little tacky to the touch when first applied but after about 5 minutes it’s well absorbed and smooth to the touch.
Results, well they’re always going to be subjective but for me personally, I can genuinely say this does seem to have some noticeable effects. I’ve been using it every evening for two weeks now and the novel ingredients (Tranexamic acid, fruit oils and extracts) actually seem to smooth and slightly brighten my skin tone.
Radiance is another subjective term but whilst subtle it’s another noticeable effect that was noticed by others not just myself.
Hydration is there but no more than I get from a run of the mill Hyaluronic acid serum.
Overall, for me there were definitely noticeable benefits from this serum, and the fact that others noticed them too, is pretty impressive.

I have a LOT of skin issues and how nice this was for my skin literally made me cry in the doctor’s office. I can’t even express how much I appreciate this care line. This product comes in a nice glass container with a dropper for easy using. The serum it self is semi thick and absorbs into the skin for nighttime use wonderfully. This does have a citrus light scent to product. I like how this serum does not leave my skin sticky. I am surprised at the cost of the price for this product, and know I would never be able to reorder at this price.

I have been using this serum and noticed it is thicker than other serums I’ve tried. Despite having sensitive skin, I am glad to report that it is gentle and did not cause me any irritation.
The recommended three to four drops are not enough to cover my face, let alone my neck and decolletage. The advice is to rub the serum all over your skin, but it feels like it’s pulling my skin because I’m putting on so little. Instead, I apply the drops on the top of my left hand and press it onto my skin, but there’s not enough for my neck and decolletage. Since this serum is pricey, I don’t want to use double the amount each time I use it as it will only last half as long.
It absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave my skin sticky, probably because I have applied so little. So far, I have not seen any amazing improvements like plumping and brightness. My skin does feel softer, but it does after using other products. Nonetheless, I am happy to continue using it in hopes of achieving a radiant glow.

At first I was skeptical because every serum I’ve bought ruined my skin. But after a few days of using this serum i was delighted with results. I’m sure that I will buy it again in the future. It is simply amazing. So soft, delicate, immediately noticeable results after the first night. The face simply glows, the skin became velvety and very soft. It didn’t cause any allergies even I have very sensitive skin. This serum reminds me of oil but at the same time doesn’t leave sticky feeling or greasiness. The smell is unobtrusive, pleasant and barely noticeable. High quality packaging. I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of the serum, I highly recommend trying it.
I use it week on week off, alternating with a pore minimizing serum. Shocking results! Very happy
