I love the dial basic I used it for years and now they don’t make it and I’m fighting and struggling to find a bar I’m crying tears because of it.

I have been using Dial Basics bar soap for years. Only recently did I appreciate why this product has become so hard to find. A seller in the Q&A says that Dial has discontinued this soap!

Dial was the bar soap of choice in my household growing up. The company practically gave me PTSD in response to the impression that any/all bar soap was bound to burn my “private parts”. It wasn’t until I found this soap as an adult that I realized the company was even capable of manufacturing something that was “all body” appropriate for those of us with chemical sensitivities. Of course, there are competing bar soaps for sensitive skin made by Olay, Dove and others, but I feel they leave too much soap residue behind in the shower/bathtub (and in some cases leave the skin feeling coated). Needless to say, Dial Basics was literally a game changer. It has a very mild, fantastic scent and does not leave the skin feeling dry or irritated like so many other soaps that contain unnecessary ingredients (i.e. deodorants that are drying, moisturizers that become nasty soap scum, fragrances that cause skin irritation, etc.)

The only other soaps that somewhat compare to this product, in my experience, are the Old School Jergens and Ivory brands. I will use those in substitution but will terribly miss the way Dial Basics smells 🙁 Dial Basics used to be among the best values for the money in the soap market, but as supplies dry up the price is outrageous.

In conclusion, I would suggest to anyone reading this review who appreciates just how hard it is to find a soap that is truly non-drying and suitable for sensitive skin to contact the parent company of Dial (Henkel North American Consumer Goods) and make your consumer wishes known.

Dial para mi gusto es una excelente marca de jabones antibacteriales que te dejan limpia y no grasosa cuando te bañas.

No aggressive “pleasant” smell, hardly any smell at all. No residue on hands, no irritation, no harsh dryness, simply clean hands. Economical. Simple good soap.

Nada que ver con el dial de antes

Been using this soap for a few years and was very happy with it. The only complaint would have been that the bars are pretty small so they go quick. All of the sudden over this past fall, I haven’t been able to find it, and I see that others have the same experience. I see the price here for 2 little bars is almost 20 bucks and I just won’t do it. Does anyone have any information as to the why though? Did the company stop producing it?
Also, is there a good alternative? Seems like most of the other bar soaps that are unscented, etc, tend to get kinda soft and messy with each use whereas Basics maintained its texture and shape until it was a sliver.

Estupendo no solo para manos, cuerpo y cara.

I liked the product smooth for my sensitive skin.

This soap has been discontinued, but, since I am allergic to many scents, it has been my go to for many years. So, I am willing to pay exorbitant prices for an item that I used to get in a market for 3/$1.99. It’s a shame that it has come to this. The product arrived on time, and was well packaged. I will purchase again since it is a necessity.

Wife likes this soap will never order again

Dial Basic soap seems almost impossible to find except at a premium price. I paid the premium price because this soap has no scent and does not irritate my sensitive skin. Most soaps make me gag when I take the wrapping off because of the horrible artificial, chemical scent (SMELL). So hopefully Dial will bring this soap back; a Pure, Simple, Basic soap that works.
