This seems to work really well. I got this for myself and my teens. I have sensitive skin and only use this when needed. I do feel like it dries my face out, so I have to use more moisturizer which is maybe a double edged sword. My kids do not have sensitive skin and have had no issues.

Benzoyl peroxide works by drying out the skin, so I was unsurprised when my skin started to dry out, especially in the desert. For sensitive skin purposes, I would say 5% is actually decent considering a lot of benzoyl peroxide acne skin cleansers are at the 10% mark. I do have sensitive skin, and I found that this didn’t burn, cause any rashes, or cause my skin to become red like some products do. I say this is due to the no fragrance, and I appreciate that.

It didn’t reduce my acne at all, but perhaps mine is more hormonal/stress acne as I am a female with PCOS. Because of that, I do not blame the product at all.

Differin Acne Skin Care Kit, Differin Gel Retinoid Acne Treatment for Face with 0.1% Adapalene & 5% Benzoyl Peroxide Face Wash & Body Wash, Designed for Pimple and Acne Prone Skin

I’ve been using this for close to a month now.
Very pleased- felt results fairly quickly and would definitely say it’s effective.
My skin doesn’t feel dried out or irritated and my problem spots haven’t been “angered ” since using this. Loving my clearer skin 🙂

I have struggled with hormonal acne in my entire life. I don’t like to use acne face products all of the time though because as I age, they seem to dry out my skin more and more. Recently, I had a terrible break out and I ordered this Differin duo. I have tried benzoyl peroxide, of course, but I had never tried the adapalene gel. I’m not sure if it was a coincidence or not but I didn’t notice fast results. My acne is starting to dry up after three days of use. I have to make sure to use a good oil-free moisturizer along with this set because it does tend to dry out.

This skincare combo definitely works, but as the title states it can be quite strong for sensitive skin –the adapalene (a retinoid) will definitely add to the sensitivity. Take care to read the directions if you’ve never used retinoids or actives like this before, I’d suggest to start out slow with the adapalene once every few days at first. If used too frequently it can lead to drying and possibly peeling depending on the individual. I personally have skin that leans more oily, and I’ve been using this once a week. While my skin hasn’t dried out from it, it’s still oily, but a few days afterward I definitely felt more texture on my face as if it was peeling a little bit. Make sure to use moisturizers half an hour or so afterward and every day, and definitely, definitely use sunscreen daily (or what’s the point amirite)! 😊

I’ve used Differen gel in the past with good results although it did take a few weeks. I think using it with the cleanser this time really shortened the treatment window. The cleanser feels gentle and doesn’t irritate my skin. I do use a separate face wash to remove make up first, and since I only break out along my chin, I use the Differen face wash there. I then apply a moisturizer followed by the gel. My face looks a lot clearer and less red. I do experience more sun sensitivity but that’s to be expected with these treatments.

Control some types of acne but doesn’t have a great effect with hormonal acne.
