  1. AlleMare

I switch to this as my cheapie excellent aveeno vinegar rinse is out. This is so disappointing, not sure what this suppose to do, with the hefty price I’m mortified. My hair is the same after I use, if anything my scalp wasn’t clean it brings flakes actually like dandruff, and all I feel is siliconed hair after nothing more. My Cheap Aveeno works wonders! Clarifies my scalp but keeping my hair squeaky clean yet shiny and 5bucks for 500 mls!
So annoyed with this overpriced useless product! I’ve given a chance multiple times trust me , but same disappointing results!

  2. Jolly

I had great hopes for this product. Have used it several times since March but the results are always underwhelming despite how long I leave it on my scalp. My hair still looks greasy as if it hadn’t been washed, so what’s the point of this overhyped, overpriced product.

  3. Rachel Murphy

My scalp tends to get dry and flaky with weather changes, and I tried many products with no results. Finally, I found a routine that works for me, and the AC rinse is a key part of it. Now I only shampoo my hair once a week, and if I need an extra wash or two after a workout, I use this!

The smell isn’t bad and doesn’t linger.

In terms of value for money, using it only once or twice a week makes it last longer.

It’s been a game changer for my scalp health.

I’ve been using this for a few months now and here is my opinion/what I’ve learned – please note that I have very fine hair, but I have a lot of it. My hair is usually long, though I had it cut recently. I have used this on long and short hair. My scalp is very dry, but also gets very oily after a day so I have dandruff AND oil. It’s a mess.

    – It smells like vinegar, which is obvious. I make up for the vinegar smell by shampooing with this and then using a great smelling conditioner.

    – Yes, you should still use conditioner. My hair doesn’t feel amazing right after rinsing this out, but it’s the same with most shampoos. I have fine hair and always need to use conditioner.

    – I also always have to use a bit of leave in conditioner after I wash my hair – every time. It’s no different with this. I use Sexy Hair Tri-Wheat Leave-In Conditioner.

    – I’ve noticed with using this that it takes a few weeks for my dandruff to go away, and if I use another shampoo in between or after it goes away, it comes back / takes longer (I wash my hair every 3-4 days.) It actually gets a bit worse before it goes away, which seems like a good sign to me that it’s repairing my scalp.

    – I color my hair a bright blue and this does not rinse any of it out. With every other shampoo I’ve used, color-safe or not, I have tons of blue coming out and my color lasts from 4-6 weeks depending on how harsh the shampoo is. Currently it’s been 3.5 weeks and my blue is exactly the same as it was the first day (pic attached)

    – With the combination of this, conditioner and a little bit of leave-in, my hair feels great and looks shiny. Usually I cannot use anything that contains oils (which is getting harder to find nowadays) but I haven’t had the issues with oiliness that other reviewers have had.

  5. Rachel Mackenzie

I was happy with my purchase of the rinse. I have long, thick hair and found it great in between my washes. It did provide shine, and my hair felt and looked clean like it does after a shampoo. I also use the DPHue shampoo once or twice a week in combination with the the rinse. The rinse definitely has a smell but I don’t find it stays in my hair afterwards. The shampoo does smell way better. The only con is that I will probably go through this a bit faster than I want to because I have thick hair and find it harder to work through to my scalp but maybe I will get better as I use it or my hair will start to acclimate to less washing as I keep going. Will buy the biggest size next time.

  6. Ali M.

I’ve been using this every few days and now I only have to wash my hair with shampoo about once a week. My hair feels so much healthier.

  7. Ximena Velasquez

I use this rinse when I want to clean my hair without shampooing or when my scalp is dry or irritated. Once it is rinsed out the ACV scent is not detectable & I’m able to comb my hair without conditioner. My hair is curly & fine, so being able to comb it without conditioner is highly unusual. Once my hair dries it is soft & any frizz is tamed.

This is one of few products that I prefer to never live without.

    Small and convenient

I was using a different brand of ACV hair rinse as a shampoo. I think it was from Cantu, and it was discontinued. It was available at every drug store in the section for “ethnic hair” (just a note – i am Irish, Italian, French and Polish – what’s with the “ethnic” label? Aren’t we all “ethnic”? 🫣😁).
The Cantu brand was inexpensive and I liked it because when I use it on a regular basis, it left my hair with NO product buildup, no dandruff and no itchy dry scalp. They discontinued this miracle product and that just ruined my day!
But – I have since found the perfect replacement – the dpHUE brand ACV rinse, which is AWESOME!
I think it is almost the exact same product, because it works just as well, has the same ingredients, smells the same.
My only problem is the outlandish price for the largest large bottle (32oz I think?) Why? Cantu was 9 bucks for the same size – even with inflation, 20 bucks would still be okay, but 59 bucks? So this is my once a year treat. I would love to buy this every month but its far too expensive. The price will drive this company out of business and that’s a shame. I don’t want to lose another quality product because the company that makes this is greedy. ACV is not an expensive ingredient. Maybe I will produce my own rinse just for me.

Anyway, about THIS dpHUE ACV HAIR RINSE:

It’s has a very watery consistency, so be careful. It will run right off your scalp if you apply too much at once. Once applied to dry scalp I gently massage it into my scalp being careful not to tangle my hair. I let it sit for ten minutes. After 10 minutes, I add a water a little bit at a time, enough to work it into a lather. I work it through the length with my fingers first, and then I use a paddle brush to gently smooth it to the ends. It lathers up very nicely.
When I use this rinse, my scalp stays fresh and clean. No itch, no flakes.
It says it’s a rinse, but I use it as alone with no other products and I treat it as a scalp treatment first. The tip allows precise application right to the scalp – it’s very watery so be careful not to pour too much at once because it will just run off. Applying gingerly to a DRY scalp is probably better for some with thinner hair. a damp scalp will help your scalp to “absorb” the important ingredients. So, after a 10 minute soak, I lather it up, and gently brush it thru with a soft paddle brush, then I work it through my hair like a shampoo, let it sit another 3 minutes, and then rinse with cool water. COOL WATER RINSE IS IMPORTANT!
IT LOCKS IN THE STUFF YOUR HAIR NEEDS! and cool or cold water helps make your hair shiny! I DON’T USE anything else AFTER I RINSE – no conditioner, no shampoo, detangler or what ever. I end up with soft, shiny hair with a sweet fresh scalp! Just lovely! I don’t need a conditioner or detangler because this leaves enough slip to comb or brush my hair with little or no problems with the knots. Just don’t force the comb or brush, and start at the ends working your way up. My Hair is thick and frizzy and tangles viciously- but with this rinse, it happens no more!
Also, dpHUE’s other products are amazing. All of the ACV line is a must have for once a week deep clarifying shampooing, conditioning and moisturizing.

The acv shampoo gently clarifies with no residue – and leaves hair smooth and manageable – not “squeaky squeaky ” kind of clean – more like a conditioned deep clean!
The acv hair mask is out of this world – leaves your hair deeply moisturized!

The dry spray-in shampoo is equally as awesome and quite handy! The ACV smell on all the hair products goes away, leaving you smelling fresh!
The acv scalp scrub really gets in there to loosen debris, dirt and flakes. It moisturizes the scalp as well as invigorates it, encouraging growth!

I really love this line of haircare products. I don’t think I even tried all the acv line yet, but I can safely say that when I can splurge, this is what I will be splurging in for my hair.
My hair is quite unruly, wirey/curly, dry hair with oily scalp (not so much as I get older). I get terrible knots if I just turn my head. My hair is also highly chemical resistant to hair color, straightening/perm products. Usually, the hair chemical hair straighteners have a required neutralizer to stop the chemical reaction. I learned over time not to use the neutralizer if I want the product to straighten my hair properly. I do not recommend that anyone try this – always follow the directions unless you are have a degree in chemistry and you have a beautician’s license my hair is not porous and it has always been a pain-in-the-butt especially in humid weather. This acv line of products seems to make my hair much more manageable, shiny, smooth and moisturized without oiliness or buildup. I really like that. They also sell kits with everything you need for travel. These kits have small containers of these products so you can try them out maybe 2 times. Great for a weekend get-away.
My only complaint is the high price, hopefully they will address that, because the product is just perfect and should be attainable for everyone, not just wealthy persons.
This product actually makes me like my hair, but unless it gets a job and brings me home a paycheck to pay my rent, I can’t justify the high price.
I went for the big bottle this once, because I ran out of it. The flakes and itchy scalp and knots came back! So for me, the price is worth it at least once every 6 months. I just have to figure something out when I run out of it! 😊
Consider trying this in a small size. If you have problems with itchy flakey scalp, this will stop it. It leaves your hair soft, shiny and very manageable. You will not be sorry. Don’t let the “apple cider vinegar” ingredient or acv smell throw you off! The smell goes away, the acv is so so good for hair and scalp!
    Enjoy!

It made my hair very greasy.

  11. pedropacificar

Loved this product! Very little scent noticeable. Made my hair super soft and not greasy at all. Made my blonde highlights super blonde but not brassy.
I have to mention, I already have very dry skin/scalp- may not work the same for others since this product is virtually made of oils and vinegar. That being said, I could probably make a DIY vinegar rinse at home for wayyyy cheaper.

  12. Shannon Huff

This stuff is magical if you have a sensitive scalp! It leaves your scalp SO clean and your hair so soft. The smell isn’t at all what you’d think it would be, and is actually nice. Also, it leaves absolutely no apple cider vinegar smell in your hair. A little but goes a long way, so these bottles are great value for the money.

I like to use this once or twice a week, and it has worked wonders for my scalp.

I feel like it leaves my hair greasy. Could be user error tho
