What can I say? I love supporting Dr. Bronner’s products due to their reported ethical behavior in payment disbursement between the lowest paid person at the company compared to the CEO. It also helps that their products are fantastic. I buy soap in bulk from them each year/year and a half/two years; mostly Sugar Soap refills and Castile Body Bars for the shower. I haven’t done an official breakdown, but I think it helps save my household a lot of money in the long run by buying quality soaps that last a long time versus buying lower quality soaps from the grocery store that continue to increase in cost each visit.
This Castile Bar pack is perfect. It has the Eucalyptus scent for my husband and the Rose scent for me. We’ll split the Peppermint between us. I haven’t actually tallied exactly how long one of these bars lasts but if you keep them out of a direct shower stream, you should have around 3-6 months of use per bar. They lather really nicely and make me feel clean. I don’t know what it is about these soaps, but after rinsing off, with a light rub across my skin and all the dead skin cells slough off with ease. It’s nice no longer having to buy other products with crushed walnut or plastic beads to help remove those dead skin cells.

I use Dr Bronner’s bar soap for body wash and sometimes as hand soap. These are my favorite scents for body. I use the liquid (almond) diluted for hands. It’s a clean brand with a good reputation and I highly value that.

This is really good soap. I wanted to buy a kind that was ranked safe on the safe cosmetics database and these soaps were. And we liked them. However because of the cost I don’t think we can buy regularly and will have to go to something with a less safe ranking on the safe cosmetics database but more affordable. For those interested, unscented Dove for sensitive skin or Ivory Original rank 2 or 3 on the safe cosmetic databases, which seems to be the lowest you can get for an affordable commercial brand. As far as I could tell, there are no affordable soaps that rank 0 or 1 in terms of safety. These smell nice, are safe, and work well. At half the cost it would be workable. It is over $4 per bar of soap and just not sustainable for us.
