    Not a paid/sponsored ad.
    Early 40s
Needed to address uneven skin tone (brown skinned) post-acne dark scars on cheeks/chin
Started with the 7day Peel Challenge (Dr.Dennis Gross) then moved to the Dr.Dennis Gross vitamin C cream (heaven in a jar) and then after one month (noticed a difference in 5 days) I took a deep breath and bought this serum.
    My regimen is the
Dr. Dennis AHA/BHA cleanser (just need a lil)
    Peel 2X/week
Dr.Dennis Serum (don’t use more than recommended it is strong and it lifts your skin ( not uncomfortable)
Final step if not going outside- Dr. Dennis Gross Vitamin C Cream
    SPF Supergoop if going outside

It’s worth the money if you’re committed to getting results. For anyone who isn’t ready to get all the steps; definitely get the cleanser, peel, and cream. If you’re in your 20s or early 30s then you will be fine with that and SPF. I also eliminated most dairy and increased my water intake. Diet affects skin also 🙂

I didn’t stick with it long enough to see major results mainly because of the smell. It’s like a fire wood, smokey kind of smell—and honestly I just didn’t want to smell like that. I like to smell pretty and desirable and my man leaning in to kiss my face and getting whiffs of charred wood just didn’t sit right with me. Lol

I have used this product for years. I went to a previous order and hit “buy again”. When the product arrived, it was not the serum that I had “reordered”. I should not have opened, but like other Dr. Dennis Gross products that I have used, they change the product and it isn’t as good as the tried and true. I finally used it today. It smells horrible! Instead of the previous serum with a one pump quantity needed, this one says to use 4-6 drops. You can’t put 4-6 drops on a fingertip and it is dry and there is nothing to apply to your skin when you try to spread it on your face! I will try to return, because I will never use again and I don’t want to scrub my face and hands to eliminate the strong disgusting smell. Do not buy!!

A little bit goes a long way! My Dermotologist recommended this product to me and I am so grateful. My skin is brighter and any small dark spots are gone. I would definitely recommend it.

This is my first time trying a product from this brand, which has always seemed a bit pricey to me, albeit with a reputation for high quality. I’m very glad that this became available for review, and I was able to try this Firm & Bright serum. Some Vitamin C serums are too harsh for my very dry, sensitive skin. This serum is My skin also tends to become dehydrated and rough easily. This serum is fairly light-weight with just a slightly oily feel; it is a light orange in color and goes on smoothly. It is easy to spread over my skin and it is absorbed very quickly with no stickiness. It does have an odd fragrance that I couldn’t quite place. Another reviewer refers to it as smoky, which is exactly how it seems to me as well. A bit odd for a skin care product and it does last for a while. Otherwise, I do think this is a well formulated product and it works very well on my skin — it helps leave my skin smooth, soft and supple. I am careful to use sunscreen when I use this. I have accumulated quite a bit of damage due to unprotected exposure to the sun when I was younger so I’m definitely interested in the possibility that this serum might help mitigate that damage. I still think the current price of $83.00 for only 1 ounce of serum is quite high, but it works so much better for me than other serums with a high Vitamin C content. The bottle is lovely and and the product arrived nicely boxed and properly sealed. I took off one star because of the price + the smoky fragrance.

I’m generally not too crazy about more watery or thinner serums like this one, as I find them a bit difficult to get to my face before they’ve run down my hands and onto my palms. This product is a thin, oily, orangey liquid serum. It is dispensed with a dropper, which is convenient for the format, and it’s hygienic, as well. This serum does spread pretty easily on my skin. Actually, I tend to apply it to my fingertips, then gently (and quickly!) tap it into my skin, only lightly rubbing where necessary. It has a sort of earthy scent, which I found off-putting at first, but have since grown accustomed to it. My skin drinks it right up, so there’s no oily residue or super shiny sheen left after a few minutes, and this stuff plays well with all my other skincare choices–no pilling or other weird reactions, thanks to its watery texture, I guess. And speaking of reactions, my sensitive skin hasn’t had any with this product. It doesn’t soothe my skin, exactly, but it certainly doesn’t irritate it, either. Most importantly, I think this serum brightens my complexion, and I’m quite sure it is helping any dark spots to lighten and fade. I will definitely continue to use it.

After efficacy, the most important feature in skin care for me is compassion, so I ALWAYS look for skincare products that are cruelty-free. That’s one reason Dr. Dennis Gross is one of my very favorite brands! They are consistently, deliberately, and reliably always cruelty-free, so you won’t be kept up at night getting guilt wrinkles from your skincare choices. And that’s a thing of beauty.

LOVE this product so much!!! The smell is not great but all vitamin c serums I have tried do not smell great. But when I tell you this product has changed my skin! I get compliments daily! I have already purchased this twice and I will continue to do so! Love all Dr Dennis Gross’ products!

  8. Daniel Catelli

I use this product almost every day, and it feels really good on my face. I’ve noticed some great results. The only thing I wasn’t a huge fan of at first was the smell, but I was able to get over it pretty quickly.
