High quality, second time buying. Lasts long, scrubs well and smells great. Good ingredients.

So I used Dove mens exfoliating bar soap up to now. I could never stand most bar soaps because you wash yourself and I could always feel that soap scum feeling on my skin, sometimes all day, and dove was the only one that didnt leave me with that, DR. Squatch kind of give me that too, but its gone by the time I dry off.

I got the 5 pack, with 5 scents, and to do a kindof scientific research into this for my own purposes, and the review, I would wash, leave the bar to dry, put it away, and use a different one each day, then I would switch back to my normal dove, I did this for 2 weeks. First off, dove made my skin feel instantly oily, and I HAD to use deodorant with dove or i would evacuate rooms, and I didnt have to do that with this soap. On top of that the natural exfloiants ((activated charcoal, sand, tree bark, walnut shells, etc.) are so much better on your drains, and skin, as long as your skin isnt too sensitive, because they can be pretty abrasive (Pine tar is the worst on that front). All of the soaps performed similarly, as far as skin feel, moisturizing, and scent longevity is concerned. Pine Tar fell behind in one area, it is being used up so much faster, I swear im losing 2-5% of the bar each time I shower, it is VERY noticeable, which is a shame because it is my favorite skin feel, exfoliate, and scent!

Scent wise, they are all very nice, very mild, I certainly have my preferances, and which ones I dont think id buy again (though it might be cheapest to just keep buying this pack? Ill do more research) My personal ranking for scent is as follows: Pine Tar, a very earth scent with a hint of freshness from the pine. Bay Rum, smells spicy, makes me think of the beach. Cool Fresh Aloe, the most “Soap” smelling of the 5, just a good standard scent. Gold Moss, this one makes me think of the beach as well, but it just is missing something compared to Bay Rum, I cant place it, but I didnt like it as much. Cedar citrus, this one just didnt impress, its scent was bland, and when stacked up against the others just fell flat.

Skin Feel: Pine tar, Cool Fresh Aloe, Gold Moss, Bay Rum, and lastly Cedar Citrus.

Life: All of them are holding up equally, except pine tar, in the 2 weeks of use, pine tar is probably 15% smaller than all the others. Now this might be because its my favorite, but I dont feel I scrubbed/lathered any more with pine tar than I did any of the others so IDK.

In summery, I do NOT want to go back to other soaps, at all! This soap is fantastic (Even poor Cedar Citrus) and makes my skin feel great, soft, and clean. They all feel a bit soap scummy, but that is gone by the time im dry. They all smell really good (Except Cedar Citrus), and they all seem to have a long shelf life (Except Pine Tar)

I received this in the mail yesterday and couldn’t wait to use it. I got the cedar citrus, pine tar, and the alpine sage. First off in Dr. Squatch Ads I’ve heard girls say it smells like their man’s cologne. I personally was expecting a more fragrant smell. It is pleasant but it still has a very soapy smell. Not that that is bad but I think I was expecting something else. I’m someone who has been showering in the laziest way for the last decade and that’s pouring some sort of liquid body wash on a loofah and using that and although the smells of body wash I used were very much like cologne from various brands the list of ingredients was certainly comparable to the what Dr. Squatch ads mentioned. I did a little research and they certainly did too because they were spot on. The ingredients in most soaps is very harmful to your skin and body. It makes me feel better knowing I’ll be using this from now on because it lists the ingredients as natural essential oils, Shea butter, sea salt …. etc etc.
The lather in the shower was instant which I thought was great. I’ve used a lot of natural soaps products before and they typically don’t behave like other soaps I’m used to do. Like natural toothpaste doesn’t create a bubbly lather in your mouth like name brand toothpastes do. This soap behaves like other soaps which is great. My skin after the shower feels incredible. You can literally notice a difference and the smell that lingers on my whole body is also noticeable. Even touching my skin now I can feel a softness that is very noticeable. My favorite soap as far as smell goes is the Alpine Sage and that is the only one I tested so far.
I’m someone who has a medium sized beard that I attempt to maintain, trim, and keep as healthy as possible. I use beard oil and balms to insure that my beard looks and is as healthy as possible. I think that I will stop using my oil for a week simply to test the soap on my beard. I used it this morning in the shower and I can already notice a difference. My skin is soft and my beard hairs smell like the forest. So far nothing but good things to say about Dr. Squatch. I hope to eventually replace my shampoo and conditioner if they have the products because I’m a bearded man bun having individual and would love it if my wavy thick hair felt as good as my skin does today.

This stuff is expensive when compared to most soaps, like Irish Spring, or Dove. For me, a single bar lasts about a month, showering at least once per day. Even though it’s pungent, I like the way it smells, and I love the way it cleans and makes my skin feel. The smell on my skin lasts the entire day, too. Do I wish the bar lasted longer? Yes. Is it expensive compared to cheaper brands? Absolutely.

But ever since I started using it, my wife can’t keep her hands off me. $60 for year’s worth of that is definitely worth it.

I rarely skip a daily shower and I bought the trio in August 23 and its now may 2024 and im 2/3 thru the last bar. I loved the scent of the Pine.

  6. David Howells

To be honest I’m disappointed with the product all five different smelling soap smell all the same . And isn’t that fragrant .

  7. Venus Mabalot

The soaps are quite pricey but they’re good.. not so strong scent and yet you feel so clean after every shower..
