    Excellent product

This stuff is wonderful. I used it all summer, also on my neck and hands. Yeah, it takes a bit of time to find the best way to apply it. It was flaky for me as well at first, but I think that is because you need to have the face completely dry when you apply it (no serums still on the skin before applying). I was surprised that it actually turns matte after 15mins or so, and that the whiteness goes away as well, almost entirely. I prefer mixing it with my Josie Maran Argan SPF tinted cream (just a little bit), I find that the color I get is the best for my face. Also, you need way less than with other sunblocks, as the structure is very light and spreadable. I love that it has only zinc oxyde (the safest mineral filter). The smell is irrelevant (good thing).
At the end of the day, my face looks like it was at the spa the whole day!

This is a staple for me. Pure zinc, very gentle and soothing for the skin.

Das ist ein tolles Produkt, das hält, was es verspricht.
Allerdings musste ich 14 Euro Zoll zusätzlich zahlen, was mir vorher nicht klar war!

After reading the ingredients and the advancements drunk elephant claimed to have made in respect to their mineral filters, I really wanted to try this product and to like it, but I was sadly mostly disappointed.

It provides OK sun protection, and unlike other facial mineral sunscreens, it wasn’t really drying. Unfortunately that was mostly because due this product’s unusual texture: it was very gloopy, thick, mucilaginous, and kind of greasy. The proper amount of sunscreen to apply to your face to get the full SPF value is 1mL for your face + ~.5mL-1 mL for your neck (abt 1teaspoon for each your face and neck). Applying that amount of this sunscreen actually makes it pill up and ball together, sliding off before it sets up to protect the face :/. I did use smaller amounts to have it sit on my face, but it wasn’t providing it’s full SPF value at that point.

On top of that, the tinted option isn’t even very dark, so if you’re dark skinned and/or black, this product definitely would not be a fit for you, unfortunately.

The ingredients looked promising, no other mineral SPF had so many antioxidants, and the astaxanthin was particularly alluring! Unfortunately the inclusion of coconut oil in the formula made me break out (I can only use coconut oils shoulders down really. I do love it as a body moisturiser tho lol). Others I’ve recommended this product to have also said it made them break out. I tried to tough it out to see if my skin would get used to it after about a month of use, and it did, but this combined with this pilling problem I mentioned above, made this product even less attractive.

I did like the almost glittery shimmer the product had, it felt fun! I don’t usually wear makeup, so it felt like my face looked more alive compared to how other SPFs make me look ghostly. Although I cannot help but think if you do use makeup, this might be more of a challenge to work around in applying foundation over, ESPECIALLY considering the above mentioned pilling problem. On top of this, while I tried to use this SPF on top of another more reliable one to offset the white cast or at least make it look less flat, it’s oiliness moves the original spf later I put down, and I also realised my skin wouldn’t absorb any of those amazing antioxidants in the formula since it was on top of another mineral filter, and all my skincare below it.

Ultimately I liked the idea of this product, but it had some kinks to be worked out, it was a good amount of product, but it was hard to use up what I’d purchased already, on its own or mixed with other products.

At the end of the day I’m gonna stick with using anti oxidant serums, then applying spf after they’ve absorbed into my skin 🤷🏻‍♂️

If you have dry skin that doesn’t clog very easily, and you don’t mind coconut oil on your face, this might be a decent option for a mineral spf filter.

If drunk elephant is reading this, I hope to see some improvements to this product and how it’s applied, sticks to the face, and options for people of colour with dark skin, because I really believe it has a lot of potential! I would definitely buy it, and recommend it if improvements and changes are made to the formula, and I genuinely enjoyed trying something that made spf seem kinda cool and fun!

Seen social media influencer talk about how good this sunblock is. Of course I wanted to try ( also Selena uses it lol). I like how it applies to the skin does feels slickly thick but then that feeling goes away idk how but it does. Your skin will feel nice with this. Only thing I would say keep in mind is that you have to rub it in fast unless you will see white spots haha.

I should start off by saying I’m a brown skinned person of the Asian variety. The only negative of this product is the white sheen it leaves on your face for hours after application. You can mitigate this somewhat by rubbing it across your face quickly but would need to be done very quick with full concentration. Can’t dilly dally with this product but even then does not fully remove the sheen.

On to the positives. This is by far the best sunscreen product I’ve used. Sun protection is a given but it also has incredible anti inflammatory properties and complements my anti hyperpigmentation routine very well. Even with the white sheen, the skin gets a very natural “glow up” effect when in the sun, and looks\feels amazing for days after washing it out. It really is an excellent skin care product.

Cette crème de jour est super épaisse ! Elle laisse un film blanc sur la peau et elle n’hydrate pas comme espéré… à éviter donc !

As someone with very pale, oily skin, I am very picky about my sunscreens – I’ve tried a lot! I did a lot of research on the highest coverage and this was recommended.

I want to give it 4.5 stars because I think this formula is really excellent. It’s really hard to find 20% zinc oxide sunscreen, which many people who really care about protecting their skin consider to be the highest, safest protection. (Be sure to read ingredients on sunscreens, I’m shocked how little coverage some expensive brands actually have). And given that it’s DE there are some lovely, high-quality, soothing, moisturizing ingredients too – which do seem to have added benefits for my skin. My skin just feels more supple, and glowey

The half a star off would be because it does leave a slight white cast. Not enough to make me not use it (I do already have very fair skin), but enough that next time I’d buy the tinted version (even though it’s more expensive for the amount).
Overall I’m willing to put up with the slight white for high quality and high protection.

(For those saying that it’s too greasy, while it’s not the most matte one I’ve tried, as someone with oily skin it does indeed feel a bit greasy when first going on, but give it time, it does sink it a lot, just takes a while).

The product goes on a little thick but once it’s rubbed in, it’s good. There’s a pleasant odor, my boyfriend hugged me after I applied it and said I smelled good.
I used it all week in the desert sun of NV and AZ last week and didn’t burn – and I’m fair skinned and Irish, if that tells you anything 🙂 I was very pleased with it and definitely recommend it. I do reapply every couple of hours if I’m going to be in the sun a while and this was easy to carry in a beach bag or pocketbook. I am pleased with the product.
