Great post shave cooling sensation. it burns for a initially but quickly transitions into a very soothing cooling sensation. Definitely does not absorb well into your skin though. I generally shave at night and shower again the next morning to rinse it off of my face. Could be an issue for morning daily shavers.

Free time is something I don’t have much of. I tend to review purchases only if they’re absolutely pathetic or unbelievably fantastic. I enjoy helping out my fellow Amazonians as much as possible, but I’m usually preoccupied with day-to-day life and the endless tasks that accompany it. I’m sorry to say, writing reviews rarely crosses my mind. And yes, said background info does become relevant anytime you’re torn over making a purchase, or not, then spot my name attached to a review of the product in question. My particular review is worthy of the time you spend reading it, and may definitively sway you one way or the other. Duke Cannon Supply Co. Ice-Cold Aftershave Balm recently bullied its way straight to the front of my “unbelievably fantastic” line, and did so while reeking of pure, shaving manliness. Most balms are usually either too greasy and linger on my skin forever, or they’re too “thin,” absorb almost instantly, but don’t really do anything beneficial other than smell mildly pleasant if I’m lucky. Well, my friend, this balm ain’t related to those wimpy balms, not even by marriage. Thick coming out of the bottle, this wonder balm goes on easily and really spreads out well, covering more surface area than the dime-to-penny-sized amount in my palm would suggest. It does require the use of minimal elbow grease to be properly rubbed and smoothed in on face and neck, but sacrificing those few seconds is a skin-conditioning deal you’ll be glad to make again and again. The menthol punch Duke Cannon delivers is more Sugar Ray Leonard than Mike Tyson, and that’s just about perfect in my book. After another minute or two of application, it will be fully absorbed leaving my face soft, pliable, and 100% grease-less, along with a very noticeable, yet slowly-fading tingle. What you’re ultimately left with is toned, moisturized skin that actually smells like the description says. The scent is clean and fresh, strong and long-lasting, but it doesn’t flirt with the notion of becoming overpowering and crushing all other smells in its path. Put quite simply, it is, without a doubt, the absolute best balm I’ve encountered in my 38 years on this planet. I’ve always been more of a lotion-splash kinda guy, but ol’ Duke is even making me rethink that assessment. I’ve used it every single day and after every shave since it arrived, and once more mid-day/evening as a refresher. I’d probably slap some on a third time if it didn’t seem wasteful. Stop your aftershave search and buy a bottle immediately. As a matter of fact, buy two. You will not be sorry or disappointed that you did. Yes sir, it’s that good. You’ve got my word and I’ll stand behind it, GUARANTEED. (By the way, I am not some lame, bought-and-paid-for, professional reviewer. I’m an actual American man who pays what it costs and expects full value for his money.)

Not much to dislike about this product. The scent, in my opinion, smells great and will last awhile as compared to other similar lotions or balms. It absorbs quickly and doesn’t have a sticky feeling afterwards. The cooling produced by the menthol and tea tree oil feel great after shaving. My face feels softer and smoother after applying, and for me has not caused any irritation.
Others may disagree on the pleasantness of the fragrance, or find it a bit overwhelming. Being $12, this may be considered expensive, especially when there are similar products at almost half the price. Not much is needed though, and as a result, has the potential to last for a significant amount of time before there is a need to repurchase another bottle. To note, I don’t shave everyday, so your mileage may vary.
Overall, this is a great product, and for me, it’s well worth the money.
