I waffled on whether to give 4 or 5 stars, but this product worked perfectly as advertised so 5 stars it is even though I do have two quibbles. First, the cubic zirconia earrings are super tacky. I only needed one extra hole in one ear, so having to wear this silly oddball earring for a month is clearly not going to happen. I would have liked to have a simple silver or gold bead or something similar. I chose this particular product because the earrings were surgical steel which I felt was better than other materials. The second quibble is that they really should include a single-use surgical pen to mark the spot. YouTube videos suggest using a Sharpie but I could not bring myself to punch Sharpie ink into my tissue. I ended up just being able to make a reddish indentation with a toothpick and my friend could see it fine to line things up. (By the way, I don’t see how you could really do this to yourself and reliably position it exactly.) As to the actual performance of the product: It was simple and worked perfectly. Videos recommended that you squeeze quickly and hold it for a second or two in order to break the plastic bits off of the earring and it worked great. I had a momentary pain (but the word pain is overstating it) and then about an hour of (very) mild burning-ish feeling, but then … nothing. No swelling, no discomfort, no redness. I already have 3 piercings in my lobes from many, many years ago. I thought I would try a piercing/tattoo shop to get this extra hole and they tried to charge me $50 plus $38 for an earring! I laughed. I am totally happy with this under $10 option.

This is the perfect way to pierce your ears! This little clicker is quick and to the point. There are no real directions other than:
1. Cleanse
2. Mark
3. Pierce
I did watch a couple short videos (and may do one myself with the next one because it was so easy I want one more hole) just to make sure it really was that simple.
I will say, the key is to commit. Once you press, go all the way and hold for a second or two to make sure your through the lobe and the little pieces will fall away. What a sense of accomplishment once the pieces fall away! Lol
I’ve had my first piercing since I was a baby so I don’t have anything to compare a successful piercing to. My second attempt was at 16 years old 40 years ago with self-piercing earrings that pierce over time and I placed them wrong and as an adult didn’t use that hole because it was just wrong.
I now have two successful, pretty holes and I’m going for a third! I highly recommend!

Pros:
Very inexpensive. (Our Claire’s starts at $39.99 plus aftercare products, local piercing/tattoo studios start at about $70.) Daughter really appreciated being able to have her ears pierced at home, without others watching, and without being rushed. This was a big deal for her. (Also, I am perfectionistic. A friend’s daughter had her ears pierced at the mall. One piercing was centered in the lobe, but the other ear got pierced so far below center that it almost missed her ear. By doing it myself, I could be perfectionistic about it. I think this was also reassuring for my daughter – she knew that I cared about it looking nice on her and liked that it wasn’t done by a stranger.) The studs (4mm 4prong) are really, really pretty. Way nicer looking than I expected – beautiful sparkle. Daughter surprised by how painless it was. Earrings have been in for four days so far – backs haven’t fallen off or caused discomfort.
Cons:
The piercing mechanism stayed stuck to the earring back both times. I wasn’t sure how to get it off. Not just the clear earring back cover, but the entire piercing gun stayed attached to her ear. Ended up having her hold the used-but-not-letting-go white plastic while I got a toothpick. Then I gently flicked at the back of the piercing gun and was able to get the clear backing and the piercing gun off her ear, careful to not touch the toothpick to her ear. She took it in stride but it was nerve-wracking for me for a few moments. On the second piercing, it was like there was barely any spring. The earring post only went halfway through her ear so I helped it along by pushing more with my thumb. It was still a pretty fast process and, even with the spring issue the second time, my daughter was surprised by how little pain there was.
To be aware:
I pierced my son’s ears this summer with a very similar piercing kit. It had a purple surgical marker for marking the piercing spot. This piercing set did not come with a marker. This wasn’t a big deal for me since I could see where the post was going, but if the marker would be helpful to you, either purchase it separately or select a different kit that includes one.
Have been using Claire’s 3.4 Fl Oz Rapid 3 Week Aftercare Ear Piercing Spray Solution three times a day and it seems like the piercing is healing very nicely.
The earrings look very pretty on her and she is excited to have pierced ears.

I’m 68 year old male and always wanted an ear pierced. When I saw how inexpensive this product was, I jumped on it. I got my daughter to do it for me. She was estatic to see me get a piercing. It was quick and easy and was absolutely painless!! And the faux diamonds look AWESOME. They are bright and sparkle. I’m near the end of my first month of wear with no infection or issues at all. I can sleep on the ear with no issues. It is comfortable both day and night. B This product is work using. Why pay the price of a retail piercing when you can use this and get it done at your convenience at a fraction of the cost?! Try this. You won’t regret it.

I would highly recommend this product! We pierced ears for both our kids using this product and neither of them cried a bit. They come completely sterilized with an alcohol pad to clean child’s ear. Very easy to use and completely pain-free!

So easy to use. I know people feel hollow needles are best but these were sharp and worked great. Super easy at a great price. Got these for my mother in law she has had no problem with infection or soreness. Worth the money.
