So I don’t know where my original review went, but annoyed because it was a thorough one.

Should you buy this cream? Yes if you don’t mind the price hike.$38? It’s crazy. It was pricy at $32, and now they’re just arbitrarily raising the price whenever they feel like it.

I’ve been using this brand for over 10 years, ever since I bought some at a pharmacy in Paris while traveling.

Yes, the other reviewers are right, and the original formula was the BEST. What they are manufacturing isn’t the same, but it’s still better than the grocery store brands of cremes like revlon, etc that I’ve tried (and hey, if anyone has tried a comparable US moisturizer for cheaper, please share the name!). The old formula had this nice light fragrance, was much silkier and thicker, and you didn’t need to use as much as this cute this formula . It also used to be in a nice glass jar, and just was of better quality. If you ask the Avene customer service though, they will say they haven’t changed a thing, but I know that’s untrue, I’ve been using the product for over a decade, and probably know this crème formula longer than they’ve probably had their job.

Long story short- I haven’t found a replacement cream yet, and still buy this cream regularly for my day and night face moisturizer. When it’s winter and my skin is dryer I get the Riche formula. If someone can point out another brand that has the same kind of weight and feel on the skin and absorption for less, I will be more than willing to try it though, I don’t appreciate the price hikes when they’ve watered down the original cream.

Forget all those high priced moisturizers this is the best value for your money. The, skin deep hydration is amazing. No smells amazing performance from a amazing product.

  3. Buen producto, deja tu piel muy hidratada.

Una crema muy suave, se absorbe rápido y deja la piel muy hunectada y se siente confortable.

  4. Kindle Customer

This is a repeat order as my mother loves using it.
It is an excellent moisturiser. Fairly good value for money as it lasts a long time. It keeps her skin looking young

  5. Reed

I have tried other creams but afraid this is the best. It is ,unfortunately , very expensive and in a plastic jar.

  6. Amazon Customer

Finalmente una crema che idrata abbastanza la pelle secca di inverno e non appesantisce non so come fa ma la ricomprero di sicuro sempre. Sara la mia preferita per inverno.

    my favorite cream!

I’ve been using Avene for years and have found it enormously helpful with my sensitive skin. I am 53 and my skin doesn’t like to be “pushed” with all of the anti-aging ingredients in so many of the product lines. It isn’t the cleanest line (some of their products are mineral oil based) but it works — especially with their hyaluronic acid.

Tengo rosácea y es muy buena para mi piel. No produce reacciones.

As I got older my skin became more sensitive, and red in tone. This is an excellent product I first experienced while getting a facial. This moisturizer is excellent for sensitive skin. I have enjoyed it and have used this product line for over 2 years. I highly recommend it!

I had been using Avene Compensating cream for years before it was reformulated and renamed as “Revitalizing” in (as I remember) 2020. At the time, every single comment I saw complained about its pilling and its getting worse after reformulation. Every single comment wished for the old formulation back. Because Avene Compensating was PERFECT for me, I got very anxious after reading the comments and decided not to purchase the new Revitalizing cream. I jumped around from products to products for the last 2 years (from expensive La Mer cream, Cle de peau La Creme, Lancome soft cream, Amorepacific Time Response to less expensive Clarins Hydra, Embryolisse). Nothing beat Avene Compensating cream. Nothing came close to Avene Compensating cream in terms of giving my easily irritated skin that clear, well moisturized, trouble-free, healthful look. Fast forward to the week of Thanksgiving 2022 after I got back from a Las Vegas trip with terribly dry and dehydrated reddish skin that nothing helped (and I always use sheet masks daily), I decided to give Avene Revitalizing a try. Worst case scenario, I would waste my $40 that I, very likely, would otherwise waste on another non Avene moisturizer. I’m so grateful I gave it a try. I don’t know if Avene listened to its loyal customers and brought the old formulation back, or if they improved the new formulation that pilled, but the Avene Revitalizing cream (I tried both rich and regular versions) did not pill at all for me and as far as I can still remember, Avene Compensating cream felt the same to me. After 2 nights of Avene Revitalizing, my skin is pretty much back to normal now. I think this is the old formulation but I can’t say for sure because it was more than 2 years ago when I last used the cream, but no matter what, if it keeps being what it is now, I will be a customer for life. Please Avene. Don’t change formulation again.
