I’ve used this cream on and off for the last 15 years. The only reason I’m docking one star is because it’s so thick that it doesn’t absorb into your skin. Going to bed with a oily sticky face is not my ideal, I don’t want it getting onto my pillow cases but alas, it does. Even if you put it on hours before, it’s still the same. That being said, it can be a good mask one in a while for extra hydration and the fact that it’s loaded with tons of healthy properties and is all natural is wonderful.

I’ve used it for about 2 weeks. I have seen much improvement with my cuticles, using every night with white gloves.
    Very pleased.

I’ve been using CeraVe for the longest and I recently have noticed my skin was dry no matter how much moisturizer I put on. I switched to using this at night and using a Korean sunscreen moisturizer during the day and I’ve never felt like my skin has been more hydrated. It isn’t as sticky and gross as you would think it is. My skin absorbs it and it feels like I just put a nice good quality moisturizer on. Doesn’t leave a weird color on your face or anything.

I absolutely love this product. It is fantastic. I use it for so many different things is quality. I put it on my face three nights a week and I wake up with the most smooth soft skin. It’s great for in between doing peels and treatments. It really does relax your skin and give it moisture on top of a beautiful glow, definitely use this. I definitely will use this again again. My Best Friend is using it and she has passed it on to some of her friends.

After learning this product existed, I was super stoked to use up my moisturizer at the time so I could order this stuff. The reviews looked promising, and it is comprised mostly of bee-derived ingredients and I’m a sucker for anything made with honey, propolis, and royal jelly.

Alas, it was not meant to be. Let me tell you about my skin: oily, but also resilient. I use maximum strength tretinoin on my face 2-3 times a week with no issue on top of salicylic acid, maximum strength vitamin C and so, so many other things. Stuff that breaks other people out or causes rashes, my face can handle no problem.

But Egyptian Magic Cream was my skin’s kryptonite. It broke me out and I became the proud owner of four bouncing baby blemishes all on my chin after three days of use. I ordered some vitamin C serum that I began using at the same time, so in order to find the real culprit, I stopped the Egyptian Magic Cream for a week and my complexion went back to being clear. Started using it again and I developed two more big fat red zits that will take another week to heal. I may not be a dermatologist, but I can recognize a pattern. I have never been acne prone, not even as a teenager and have never had a product break me out. Aside from this, I also noticed my cheeks looking very reddish and ruddy after using this product, almost like I was blushing. This has never happened to me before.

So many people said this was a great product for oily skin, but I found it did not absorb well at all. It just sat on my skin and never soaked in, so every time I touched my face, I’d wind up with oily fingers. People swore up and down it wasn’t greasy at all, but it was (I mean, olive oil is the main ingredient). While it does make a very nice lip balm, my face did not like this stuff. I reached out to the folks on Egyptian Magic to find out if maybe something else I was using could be having an interaction or if I was somehow using it incorrectly, but never got a response.

I do not agree that this product is the same as Vaseline, though. I saw that in some of the reviews. Vaseline is thick and sticky, but Egyptian Magic Cream is just oil – it’s not sticky or tacky and goes on smoothly. Perhaps the folks who felt it was no better than Vaseline received a bad jar?

I fully understand that I am in the minority when out of 4,400+ reviews, 70 percent of them are five stars. This stuff just did not play well with my skin, for whatever reason. Maybe it was too rich or my skin just didn’t like one of the ingredients, I’ll never know. I took a chance on what is obviously a great product and it just didn’t work out for me. I never had any reason to believe my skin couldn’t handle this stuff, but there you have it. I’ve seen some folks say it’s possible to get a fake product and I’m pretty sure mine is legitimate.

I didn’t want to give one star because it’s nobody’s fault this stuff broke me out, and the reviews speak for themselves about how well Egyptian Magic Cream works for others. But let my experience be proof that as hardy as your skin may be, everyone’s skin has that one thing they really don’t like.

    TLDR at bottom

Got this after seeing it on Amazon. I have dry skin with occasional cystic/nodular hormonal acne. It reminds me a little bit of the Dr. Jart Ceramidin balm to oil that was discontinued (that I loved). The consistency is very thick. For best results take a small amount and rub it really well in between your hands to warm the oil and melt the beeswax otherwise it can be a little too thick applying it directly to your face. You will want to make sure to apply it at least an hour or two before bed because it takes awhile to fully absorb and could leave a stain on your pillowcase. The feel of the product on my skin is very much like vaseline or Aquaphor. If you do not like thick feeling skincare this is not the product for you. It really moisturizes extremely well. I can tell a difference when I wake up in the morning. I like that the ingredients are very simple with no extra filler products. Like I mentioned above the product contains beeswax and other bee derived products, so if you don’t like animal products in your skin care avoid this. Speaking of beeswax, the product has no added fragrance so it smells pretty strongly of beeswax. It’s not a scent I enjoy, but the benefits are worth dealing with the initial smell.

TLDR: great for dry skin. Very thick. Rub well and use sparingly an hour or so before bed. Strong beeswax smell. Not suitable for vegans.
