Note: I’ve tried the regular and pro versions of this head, and I experienced better results with the pro… Though that may have been a fluke. The materials, build, and packaging are essentially identical.
Compared to genuine Braun heads, there are big differences. Th foils don’t go all the way to the ends, so you can cut yourself if you drag the wrong way. The underside is much different, and after opening one up I noticed that the foils are only lightly held down by 4 tiny plastic tabs which will fail over time. If you push down on the foil with any force while shaving, expect a failure far sooner than 18 months.
Performance-wise, these heads are fine, but do not cut as well. You will need extra time and shaving passes to get the same results as the genuine blades. And unlike the genuine Braun blades, these generics will sometimes grab hairs if you go against the grain… And it will be much worse if you have more than 2-3 days of stubble. So always cut with the grain with these.
Aside from the cutting issues above, these aren’t bad if you get them for under half the genuine cost. I would recommend having some of both genuine/generic, and save the genuine heads for when you need the fastest, cleanest shave. For any other day, use the generics. Try for yourself–but if you get less than 9 months of us before experiencing a critical failure, you’re not getting your money’s worth.

I’ve not had good luck with NON OEM (Original Equipotent Manufacturer) blades for my various razors over the years. Braun in particular tend to have excellent blade assemblies.
My Series 9 has always had a problem getting the longer hairs, to the point I have to use a clipper to get them prior to shaving! Really annoying.
So color me shocked that although this replacement is ever so slightly less smooth on the skin, it mowed down those long hairs AND gave me a much closer shave than my OEM shave head!
I’ve NEVER had a off brand head give me a better shave, usually they’re just cheaper!
Unlike other reviewers I had no hair pulling either, just a smooth complete shave. A little noisy the 1st week but they often are as the blades wear into the foil, but it quieted down.

These replacement heads are very similar to other replacement brands that I have used. They work well, and are quite a bit lower in price than the original brand. It’s a good investment, in my opinion.

A good option to save some money when your original head needs replacing. I feel like this is about 90% as good as the original. It shaves fine but maybe not quite as good as the original did when brand new. A good tradeoff to save some money.

The “FAMELEC for Braun Series 9 Replacement Heads” fits my Costco’s Braun 9320 perfectly. That is the only good thing with this product apart from the price. I have a semi sensitive skin and I use pre-shave lotion before every shave.
I tried this on a two day old beard and it works reasonably. I tried OEM on one side of face and this one on the other side for comparison. It is slightly louder but seems to work on the beard well. Occasionally it pulls on a hair which hurts. So is not the smoothest operation. The timing seemed to be taking longer. I am not confident on using this for a longer beard. I did not get any razor burns or bumps. It did not provide the best shave compared to OEM.
Looking inside, the internals are not the same compared to OEM as the OEM has a few springs which are missing in this product. It is also lighter than the OEM.
This is a decent replacement at a fraction of the cost of the OEM and time will tell if this will last the same timing. This could be a good backup and possibly good for one day short hair shave.
