Due to lots of sun damage from growing up at the beach my doctor has strongly recommended only 100% physical / mineral sunscreens. I have used other chemical + mineral EltaMD sunscreens and liked them very much. However, this one is thick and leaves a lingering white cast. I will probably use it but won’t buy it again.

I should have read the listing more carefully. I use ELTA for everyday use, but this one is only for when you need super heavy duty all body protection (in the water / at the beach. It is thick and VERY white. No amount of rubbing made the white go away (on my face). If you need heavy protection on your body this would be great. For me, it is going in the closet for my next beach vacation!

I live in a tropical 🏝️ island and the heat is on. I have sensitive skin where other products would mess me up. That this brand they are perfect, light and doesn’t leave a white residue on the skin.

Waterproof – yes
White cast – minimal (see photo)
Texture – feels sticky and heavy because waterproof formulas tend to be, alittle difficult to blend on face
Gentle – yes fine for Sensitive skin
CON – expiry date is in 6months and turns white when i perspire

This is a great sunscreen, and I use it on my arms chest and neck. It does initially have a white-purplish cast, but it fades quickly. If you use a ton at first, that white cast is way more apparent, so with practice and experience, you learn how much is enough and not too-much. This really does protect my skin from getting burnt, so when I know I’ll be outside for much of the worst part of the day, I am sure to use this on any exposed skin, aside from my face. (I use a facial sunscreen for my face and throat.) Bottom line, this is a trustworthy brand and it works.
