love this product. our skin is the largest organ in our bodies and needs protecting, especially our faces. the product is creamy white and easily applied on the face. it does not remain white on your face and makeup is easily applied over it. it’s a staple on my make up tray.

I’m allergic to chemical sunscreens, so this has been great for me. Yes, it leaves a little white cast, like all mineral sunscreens. It’s unavoidable. However, I’ve tried a lot of sunscreens and this leaves the least white cast by far. Also, it’s really effective, even in the Florida sun!

There’s a lot to like about the EltaMD Restore Untinted:
*The formula is creamy and easy to spread.
*It’s the most moisturizing of the EltaMD mineral sunscreens I’ve tried (much better than Elements and Physical).
*It’s dewy but not too shiny after dry down.
*No fragrance.
*It works well under makeup – no pilling.
A few things I don’t like:
*It leaves a blue-gray cast on my very fair, very dry skin even with lots of rubbing and blending and it affects the color/tone of the foundation I applied over it. Again, my skin is very fair, darker foundations may better cover the cast.
*After a few hours it settles into some fine lines and accentuates them (even under primer and a weightless foundation) – it’s not bad, it’s just average likely due to the thicker formula.
*The pump is not great – takes a while to get enough product out.
Summary: It’s the most moisturizing sunscreen I’ve found so far this summer, but it leaves a stranger cast than most I’ve tried and the wear under makeup is just okay for mature skin.

I don’t like that the product I received is 1.7 ounces yet it’s always been 2.O ounces and the current picture still has the Elta MD Restore SPF 40 sunscreen size as 2 ounces. Charging the same amount for lesser product yet depicting it as regular size is just wrong. It’s now even more expensive per ounce.

I have tried a zillion sunscreens from as many brands. This works the best for me. It has an elegant formulation – applies smoothly, is non-drying, and does not have a white cast. I don’t even need to wear a foundation over it, it imparts a beautiful, smooth finish on my skin. I do apply a moisturizer first, let it set for a few minutes, then apply the sunscreen. Highly recommend.

I recently purchased the EltaMD facial sunscreen for my husband, who is an avid golfer, and it has exceeded his expectations.
This sunscreen is a golfer’s dream he says. It stays in place even during intense rounds under the sun, and it doesn’t run when you sweat, which is crucial for maintaining visibility and comfort on the course.
The longevity is impressive; it lasts throughout his entire game without needing constant reapplication. Unlike many other sunscreens, it isn’t sticky and feels light on the skin, making it perfect for daily use. There is a light scent to it, nothing overbearing, just that typical sunscreen scent.
Overall, we’re both very satisfied with this product and would highly recommend it to anyone, especially those who spend a lot of time outdoors.

I’m in the sun every day, so I’ve tried a lot of sunscreens. After using every single one, and sometimes just after sun exposure with no SPF on, my skin has broken out. Not a huge breakout, but at least one or two pimples will appear right afterwards somewhere on my face.
This is the only sunscreen that protects my skin and has never caused a breakout. I’m so happy to have discovered it because it’s no fun to have to choose between having fun outside and having clear skin.
The texture is light and while it’s white out of the bottle, it absorbs into the skin quickly. It also doesn’t seem to contain any fragrance. The only smell is what I believe is just the natural smell of the sunscreen itself.
I can honestly say this sunscreen has improved my life and that’s pretty big claim for something you rub on your face.
