I just got this stuff so have only used it a couple times but I really like it. The main issues for me in picking a self tanner were smell and staining. This has a pretty nice, suntan lotion type of smell when you first put it on. It dries on your skin really quickly and feels like nothing. It has some color to help you kind of see where you are putting it, but not a ton. The best part is, after it dried, there was no gross tanning stuff smell. And it did not come off on the sheets that night. Seriously, other lotions I’ve used with gradual tanners kept me up at night with the bad smell and stickiness. This Fake Bake has none of that. After showering, the guide washed off so I looked less streaky (first timer) and just had a very subtle glow. I put more on the second night, got it evened out better and had the same good results. It really is a very light color though. I have medium slightly olivey skin and this just makes me kind of golden which I would rather have than a deep, fake looking tan. The color has lasted a few days now but I haven’t had it long enough to see if it lasts the week as advertised. Pretty easy to apply though if you follow directions. I hate maintenance but even for me the application of it isn’t that much of a pain.
Summer –
Best tanner on the market and I have used them all – from cheap orangy to bougie bronze.
This is brown – to prevent it from rubbing off on clothes, etc, shower after a good 4 -8 hours.
If you get wet before the complete shower – IT WILL STREAK BUT NOT PERMANENTLY – example – like mascara will run down your face if splashed with water. GOOD NEWS. MOST OF THE COLOR WILL STAY.
1. Shower and get a fresh shave. What’s not shaved – scrub or buff the dead skin.
2. Body must be totally dry before applying
3. Spray on and use mitt to spread evenly. – BE CAREFUL WITH SPRAY… IT WILL MIST AND THE MIST WILL STAIN,. WIPE THE BATHROOM FLOOR AND WALLS, YOU’LL UNDERSTAND.
4. Let it air dry or stand in front of a fan. DON’T wear light colored clothes at this time. Wait until after you have showered.
5. Apply heavy cream or vaseline to nail beds or anywhere you want to avoid getting stained, Feet and Hands are difficult to get even. Lay a paper towel down on a hard surface and spread your fingers and spray lightly – I rub my hands together like using lotion. get between the fingers and . NOTE: this will stain your palms. DON’T PANIC there is a fix – SOFT SCRUB WITH BLEACH – COUPLE OF DROPS AFTER YOU HAVE DRIED EVERY WHERE ELSE – BE CARE TO JUST WASH THE PALM AREA use a damp paper towel or old bathrag and then when rinse and wash with regular soap.
6. Avoid the swimming pool and hot tub or jacuzzi if you want to keep your tan. The bleach will completely strip your tan off in minutes.
7.I used banana boat self tanner as a cheap extender applied on top. It evens the color out.
8. Again, soft scrub with bleach is your friend. I have used it to get stain off the bottoms of my feet, around my nails and off the walls and off the floors and off some of my whites.
9. HARD TO GET EVEN PLACES -. like down the bony center of your leg – spray and then DAB don’t rub or wipe. Remember your armpits and apply under very good lighting or preferably in the sunlight.
10, If it streaks, don’t sweat it, normally it all evens out after the shower – or you uses the banana boat to even things out.

I just wanted to say that I have loved this tanner from day one because it goes on easy and dries fast. Also, I am not allergic to it as I have been with most other self tanners. However, why have they changed the formula. They have started making it with the green tint and it was not like this a year ago. It was perfect just the way it was. Now it doesn’t have the same brown hue that it once did and leaves the skin slightly orange. I don’t want to stop using it because I want to be tan. But, with my allergies I don’t know what to try. Please make it the way it used to be!

I have fair to medium skin and I enjoy having a nice summer glow without running the risk of skin cancer in tanning beds. I have used several self tanners over the years and this has become my new favorite. I apply after exfoliating in the shower. I spray several sprays on the mitt provided and apply in circular motions to my entire body. It is helpful that this self tanner shows up as soon as you apply it so you can cover all areas appropriately and avoid creating streaks. The scent reminds me of a tropical/coconut smell and it is the most pleasant self tanner scent out of all the ones I have used (It doesn’t give me a headache like others have in the past). It feels so light on my skin and dries within minutes. It does seem to make my skin a little dry, I recommend applying a moisturizing lotion after you shower the next day. The color fades a bit after the first shower you take, but you can apply again to reach your desired level of darkness. It fades after about 5 days, but I much prefer to apply every 5-7 days rather than use a daily self tanner that makes me feel sticky and smelly. I have gotten many compliments on how natural the tan looks. I love this product and I recommended it to all of my friends, family, and co-workers.
