I have fine, wavy hair (roughly 2A, with fairly healthy/low porosity) pretty much exactly what this is advertised as being perfect for… but it was just an awful sticky mess, that made my hair look and feel worse than ever. Even with the “shine” and “frizz” hair goal boosters added, my hair was frizzier than ever, and looked dry, limp, and horrible. Top it off, it didn’t even add any volume, so this may be one of the worst hair products I’ve ever used.

I was hoping to love this mousse. It smells nice, and I like that it isn’t crunchy. Where’s the HOLD? The first time I used this product, I used the leave in treatment, and some gel and then scrunched in the mousse. After my hair dried, it was frizzy and my waves had zero definition. By the end of the day my hair looked awful. If I need my hair to look good all day, I will definitely have to use a different mousse with a stronger hold. This mousse will have to be for casual days.

First impressions: Nice set of two cans of styling mousse. The mousse comes out as a foam and smells really good, kind of like a light apple fragrance that’s not overpowering.
Installation/setup: Apply to wet or damp hair then style as usual.
Final thoughts: I like to use this before I use my Dyson Airwrap. It makes the curls my airwrap puts in last so much longer. I love the way it leaves my hair curly and controlled without weighing it down or making it stiff or crunchy. My hair is long and curls don’t stay well without some kind of product. I like this and I’m glad I got it.

I liked the way that this mousse worked on my hair to define the waves but after using it three times and washing my hair in between, I noticed that my regular daily shampoo wasn’t getting it completely out of my hair. After using a clarifying shampoo my hair went back to normal, but now I only use this mousse when I know I will be using the clarifying shampoo soon. I have fine, 2B hair.

My daughter has really thick curly hair that goes to her mid back. She would usually wear her hair up in a messy bun but since using this “Function of Beauty” mousse she’s been wearing it down most days because she gets amazing texture and super curls from this mousse. We wait until her hair is slightly damp and she applies the mouse and gently scrunches. This provides a lightweight hold with loads of curls. The scent is very pleasant too. It’s super easy to use. This is the best mousse either of us has ever tried. It works so much better than any drugstore brand. I would absolutely purchase this product again. Five stars!

I don’t really know what I was expecting, but I can say I was not expecting these bottles to be quite so big! I do appreciate that for the higher price point of this lightweight mousse you’re getting two bottles both of a very large size. Anytime I curl my hair I have to put product in it in order to get it to hold the curl and I don’t just mean hairspray, I have to use quite a bit other things just to get my curl to hold. I don’t naturally have curls, but curl creams and mousses do seem to help my hair have the ability to hold a curl when heat styling. This zero gravity styling mousse did an amazing job helping my hair hold a curl without causing it to be sticky or crunchy in anyway. I applied this to wet post shower hair with the only other product I used being a leave in conditioner that also acts as a heat protectant. This didn’t weigh my hair down in anyway, which is a bit of a surprise since just about everything weighs my very fine hair down even leave in conditioner. I have just below shoulder length hair and only needed about three pumps of this concentrating most of it at my roots and then working it down toward my ends. I included a picture of the foam so you can see just how very lightweight and easy it is to distribute through your hair. It almost feels like you’re not using anything at all. I worried upon initially looking at the foam that there was more water in this product than anything else and it wouldn’t actually help but I was pleasantly surprised and very mistaken. After applying this to my hair, I flipped my head upside down to blow dry and see what sort of volume I could get at the root as well as whether or not this would help tame some of the frizz that I often have after I get done blow drying my hair. The lift at the root was exactly what I was looking for, and while I did have some frizz post blow dry it wasn’t nearly as much as I normally have. I waited until the next morning to curl my hair using hot tools because that’s the only way that happens for me. So far I’m several hours into a hot but not overly humid day and my curls are holding nicely. My hair is shiny. I don’t in anyway feel weighed down or like my hair isn’t touchablely soft. Normally I have to use enough product to leave my hair feeling gritty but that wasn’t the case after using this styling mousse. Overall, I’m pretty happy with this and feel like it’s definitely going to go into my regular rotation of hair products.
