I absolutely LOVE this product. I followed directions to a T and went all over my hair even though just the bottom half is actually bleached. It’s been weeks, but you can still tell when I’m in the sun or light that the little red is shining through. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked. No damage to my hair either. I swear by this stuff.

I’ve been dyeing my hair this color for over a year now and I have no plans of switching any time soon.
Naturally, I have light brown hair, so I can just put this dye all over it and it turns out a really great red that fades into a darker shade as it fades (though I’ve never had it turn any other color/disappear/etc.). If you have any other color hair, I have no clue how it would affect that, honestly.
It always comes out so smooth and nice after dyeing my hair, I’ve never had any damage from this dye. I love the hair mask that comes with it to use after rinsing the dye (use cool/cold water). No additional shampoo/conditioner needed.
The dye itself is orange and will dye everything except your hair orange (Not sure why it shows up orange and not the same red shade as it dyes your hair but idk i’m not a scientist). I will say, due to trial and error, being entirely nude is the best way to dye your hair. This stuff can and WILL STAIN. EVERYTHING. Any clothes you wear will most likely end up with dye stains on them. Good lord, I accidentally touched the wall with my glove while dyeing my hair the latest time and the handprint is still there.
If you’re doing your eyebrows with the dye too (not recommended. it says on the package not to do it but I still do it anyway. i do not endorse others trying this, but if you still are going to, please take my advice.) I would not recommend applying it with a spoolie brush. I did this once and the spoolie seemed to absorb most of the dye and left my eyebrows looking patchy and weird. The best way I’ve found is just using your index finger with the glove still on (you can take it off for accuracy, but your finger will be orange lol) and very carefully applying it to your eyebrows then wiping away the excess (as it will stain your entire forehead orange and it will last days. trust me.).
I re-dye my hair about every month or so, only because my roots grow out and become noticeable. If you have slower growing hair, you could probably get away with dyeing it even less frequently. Personally I don’t use shampoo/conditioner made for colored hair, but I haven’t found that makes too much of a difference.

Overall, I really love this dye!
But do be careful when applying as it stains (and reeks…). 🙂

Great product and color. You can’t go wrong with Garnier. I use it all the time.

Medium brown hair here. The key to this hair color is using a very good color shampoo. Dark colors tend to fade quicker. That being said, it wasn’t as vibrant on week three as it was on week one obviously. But to be fair, I didn’t have the correct color shampoo until week 3. My results were good. It looked like black hair but in the sunshine or light, you could definitely see the blue. I enjoyed it because it wasn’t overwhelmingly obvious. I wanted something different but I didn’t want it to be outrageous because of my job. I have fine hair and it just touches my shoulders. One box for me was enough.

I don’t ever dye my hair so of course it’s an adjustment for me. People compliment me on it. My natural hair color is medium to dark brown. It came out exactly the color on the box said it would. It looks mostly black but you can see a slight blue tent which is perfect, I didn’t want too much blue. I probably will go straight black next time because my hair was starting to gray quickly and it’s not recommend for people with a lot of gray as it will dye your hair light blue. I’m including before and after pictures. Natural – dark brown, dyed – Indigo (Black/Blue)

Have been using Ion Brilliance Tanzanite for few years to color oddly patterned white and greying black hair. Color has been too light and fading quickly. Tried a couple other brands but not getting results I wanted. Garnier Indigo Midnight is perfect. My black hair is blue black and shiny. The white, silver and grey areas pick up different amounts of dark blue and look like expensive highlights, especially in sunlight. I left it in for the recommended 25 min whereas I had to leave Ion in for an hour. Cleanup was not difficult. Husband says smell is better.

My go-to color for a while now, covers my mainly white hair the shade that’s shown on the front of the box. Love the conditioner that’s included in the box, leaves my hair soft.

I always go with this brand and color, it looks so great on me and doesnt fade too quickly. A 2 pack for this cheap is absolutely ideal. And it works well on brown hair!

  11. LMNS

It looks dark enough but probably cuse my light brown ish sandy bloond hair it is not dark enough like the kind i use to get perfect results from. But its close. Might try again to see if it will darken my lighter spots. But definitely better then all the other purples i tryed that make my hair more burgundy and wash out into faded red every time yo wash it. This is a good alternative to the greedy over price of most popular purple.
