Today there are so many razors with four, five or six blades. Sensor Excel has only two, but, that’s all you need. These razor blades handle the mustache area with ease. Extra blades are just more cumbersome. Good product.

I’ve used this particular razor ever since I learned to shave. I like this size because I’m able to get into hard-to-reach places, and the razor has this little soapy film on it that is released when it’s wet, which makes for a smoother shave. These are really expensive in the store, so it’s better to buy them on Amazon. I use them in conjuction with a 4 or 5 blade razor. I highly recommend.

Where do I start? I don’t consider myself that old but I’ve been using these double blade safety razors long before the 3, 4, or 5 blade marketing scheme gimmicks hit the market. They’re so big, I can’t get under my nose with them things without cutting my upper lip! I’m not interested in how many whiskers I can cut at once. If I was in that big of a hurry, I would run my face over with a lawn mower! Two blades are enough! Two blades are perfect! Or as a cherished, old saying goes- “If it works…Don’t fix it!” Now some well meaning manufacturers understand what I’m trying to say so they have come up with their own “back to the good old days” safety razors. But I don’t want to join a club, or sign up for regular mailing…I just want a nice shave at a reasonable price. So after over 30 years of using these blades, I will be the happiest man on the planet if I die at a ripe old age…shaving with TWO blades. Thank you Gillette! Now my only complaint? Please make decent replacement handles- not plastic junk. If that never happens, please fill my cold dead hands with my last good Gillette Sensor razor so I can meet the hereafter with a blissful smile and a baby butt smooth face! Amen!

    October 21, 2015:

Several reviewers have claimed these razors are inferior to those sold in retail stores in the US, either straight out of the box or as they aged. Others claim they are the same. I purchased a retail package from the local drugstore when these arrived and am alternating which blade I use each day, shaving one day with the blade purchased on amazon and the next day with the blade purchased retail. After a couple of days, I can see no difference, but I’ll see whether one lasts longer than the other and then you’ll know, too.

    January 24, 2015:

OK; I’ve used these for three months alternating the blades every day. The verdict: The quality is different. While the initial shaves were identical, the blades with the Asian language on the side I purchased here became dull faster. The white strip wore off noticeably faster. However, they cost half as much. Did I get more shaves per dollar from the amazon-purchased blades? Yes, but not many.

I’ve been using these razors for over 40 years and love em! All the razors with 3 plus blades are a bit of a joke, in my humble opinion!

the gillette razor purchased works well. being able to get a lower price per unit even though i had to buy 5 packs was excellent as this product cannot spoil

I’ve been using the Sensor Excel blades since their introduction decades ago. I never really paid attention to where they were manufactured, but now that they’ve grown so expensive and buying in bulk seems to be a viable strategy, the question is coming up.

The last time I bought these blades — a few years ago, from an Amazon vendor — I bought several 5-packs, which I’m just now using the last of. They were labeled “Made in Germany,” and packaged for sale in the USA. They were the same quality blades I expected and was used to.

The current shipment of 10-packs, from another Amazon vendor, are stamped “Made in Poland,” with a date in 2011 (the German ones had no manufacturing data on the package). They are packaged for sale in Asia.

I can discern no difference whatsoever between the German blades and the Polish ones, and both perform exactly as I remember Sensor Excel blades always performing. They last the same number of shaves, provide the same degree of comfort and closeness, are visually identical to the finest detail, come in the same plastic 5-cartridge carriers, and are completely satisfactory.

Over the years I’ve experimented with other multi-blade cartridge systems, and with safety razors using a variety of well-regarded blades. I’ve never found anything to equal the Sensor Excel, and always come back to it vowing never to stray again. As long as I can still find cartridges at a reasonable price, I doubt that I ever will again.

It would be nice if the cost was a little less for these razor blades but they are not available in stores in USA so that’s why we need to purchase them online at Amazon. My husband shaves with these razors and he has tough facial hair so he has been using them for years.
