Reviewing: goop Beauty Hair Oil | Hair Moisturizer for Frizzy & Dry Hair | Vitamin C, Sea Buckthorn Oil, and Plumeria Monoi Oil | 1 fl oz | Hair Detangler to Help Shine & Texture | Paraben and Silicone Free:

This is a small bottle of hair oil that really works well to make hair less dry, and more nourished-looking. You put it on your hair 20 minutes before washing, work it all into the hair, and then rinse it off before washing as normal.

The ingredients are listed on the box, as follows: Hydrogenated Ethylhexyl Olivate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Propanediol, Aspergillus Frement, Saccharomyces Ferment, C13-15 Alkane, Plumeria Acutifolia Flower Extract, Ethyl Macadamiate, Glyceryl Ricinoleate, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Hydrogenated Olive Oil, Unsaponifiables, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Tocopherol, Hippophae Rhamnoides Fruit Oil, Mallic Acid, Acadia Concinna Fruit Extract, Tamaindus Indica Fruit Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Citrus, Limon (Lemon) Peel Extract, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Oil, Citrus Aurantium Amara (Bitter Orange) Leaf/Twig Oil, Citrus Nobilis (Mandarin Orange) Oil, Salvia Sclarea (Clary) Oil, Citrus Aurantium Amra (Bitter Orange) Flower Oil, Limonene, Citral, Linalool, Geraniol. It’s made in the USA using domestic and foreign components.

I have very thick, coarse hair, and the recommended 2 ½ dropperfuls is definitely not enough. I’ve been using about 6 every time, but I do like the way this makes my hair look and feel. I’ve been doing a lot more to try to keep my hair hydrated, but it’s naturally coarse, and never reaches that glossy, well-maintained look, unless it’s actually wet. At least I feel that this goop is helping in some way. The fragrance is not very strong, and it’s like the smell of earth, or grass; just a natural fragrance that doesn’t stay in after I’ve washed my hair anyway. I like using this product, and even though I’m using more than recommended, this little bottle is still going to last me a long time.

I have naturally wavy/curly hair (I’d say about a 2B with ringlets in some spots) that tends to be frizzy and look dry. I live in the Arizona desert and that makes it worse! I got this in the hopes that it would help with frizz.

I’ve used it a few times now. Once I put it on after shampooing, just a couple of drops as I do with another oil I have, and that was awful. By the end of the day, my hair was greasy and flat. This oil should definitely be used before washing.

In the past, I’ve used coconut oil and baby oil in my hair. In India, the women rub oil on their hair at night and sleep with it in to help moisturize, and my grandma used to put it in my hair often when I was young. It was always tough to rinse out, but then again, she used a LOT. I’ve done the same as an adult and think those work well as a once-a-week deep conditioning treatment.

This oil is very light and has a mild scent that I like. The smell doesn’t linger at all though. Initially I thought the instructions said to use 2 drops instead of two droppers full. My hair is about shoulder length and I did need two droppers full. I found the best way to apply it is to fill the dropper, empty it into one palm, and then pull my hair into a ponytail and swipe the oil over the top. Repeat, swiping it over the bottom, and then brush or comb through. I left it in for 20 minutes once, and a couple of hours another time and got about the same results both times.

I usually use a sulfate-free shampoo and silicone-free conditioner, then a leave in, and a styling product (gel, cream, etc.). I tried this one without a leave-in a couple of times to see how it worked.

My hair does feel softer after using it and seems to hold curl a bit better (which usually happens with more moisture). I still need some sort of leave-in for the frizz though, as it isn’t quite enough moisture to prevent that. I may try 3 droppers full and see how that goes.

It’s a good-sized bottle and should last a while. Honestly though I don’t see an enormous difference between it and another products (or even a lightweight plain ol’ oil like grapeseed). It is a bit easier to use and a more pleasant experience. I can’t say that the price justifies the results though.

We use this before a shampoo, my husband uses it feels good with the head/hair massager

I like this oil because of the different things that are in it. This is pretty expensive for an oil but if you have the money to try it, then it could be worth a try

I love this hair oil. It does make my wire like, easy to get tangled hair soft and manageable. It smells really nice too. However there are few negatives. It is quite pricey for the amount and you need to put it on 20 minutes before washing your hair. Who has time to do that?

  7. Woodland Owl

Honestly this was just okay to me. I will say it’s very lightweight, has virtually no smell and doesn’t weigh down my hair but I can’t say it made much of a noticeable difference. If it did anything, it was subtle. It’s worth noting though that my hair is damaged from bleaching and has naturally tangly ends and some dullness because of it. Maybe this works better for someone with healthier hair but if you have more serious issues that need addressing, this isn’t the miracle product for you. Also the cap cracks super easily so don’t over tighten it! I literally just cracked mine right now!

I love this hair oil. I bought it a while back at tj maxx and couldn’t find it again, so I bought it here. It’s worth the cost. I use it once a week and it lasts a while. Makes my hair so happy
