I had dry skin on my scalp which led to some light intermittent itching. After using Head and Shoulders dandruff shampoo the itching went from light to “want to tear off my scalp”. Have stopped using the shampoo and am now putting baby oil on my scalp, waiting an hour, then washing it with my regular shampoo — and the itch is gradually going down after 4 days of doing this. Will bring this up with my dermatologist — I may be allergic to one of the ingredients. A shame, since it was pleasant to use. But…

Recently received had surgery. This shampoo is perfect for showering without ostomy bag. It does not sting or irritate skin.

I started to have dry scalp after shaving my head. After about 2 weeks of using this product every 2 or 3 days it went away. I originally didn’t like how it made the skin on my head feel tight, but that went away after awhile. The only thing I really dislike about this product is the smell, it has a very medicinal smell

Yeah, yeah, this is dandruff shampoo! but it also leaves a nice tingly sensation on the scalp that feels oooh sooo good! I live in the North East, so once the wet humid summer gives way to fall, the cold dry winter weather definitely causes some flakes(and this isn’t snow I’m talking about here). In addition to getting rid of dandruff, it also seems to clean my hair really well – or at least what’s left of it!

I bought it to use as soap, since we had a MRSA scare in my house and zinc is effective against it. Head & Shoulders is a lot cheaper than the prescription zinc soap you can get and while it does have about half the amount of zinc in it, I don’t consider that a bad thing. A lot of us in the house have sensitive skin and I found the zinc can be irritating in too high a concentration.
Sorry, I don’t use it for its intended purpose, so I can’t tell you whether it’s a good dandruff shampoo or not.

I’m a woman, so I’ve used a million types of shampoo in my life. Head & Shoulders takes the cake, it makes my hair so soft and shiny. It even brought out my natural curl/wave, since it makes my hair weightless and bouncy. My husband and I originally bought it for our baby’s dry scalp, and have brought it into the shower for ourselves to enjoy as well. It does do a good job on my baby’s head, too!
